Love Black Ops Airsoft. The field is fantastic and HUGE and the refs are great. It's become my go-to location.

Where do I start. I used to play at this field every weekend since 2018 to 2020 and I loved the place. Will ran a tight ship and upheld the rules well and the refs were amazing. Gameplay was awesome with some top notch players. I went back a few weeks ago because I'm getting back into the sport. Not a single positive thing I can say about the staff. I was there the whole day and if it was 2020 I would've played 15 games, now you're lucky to get 6. The head ref must thing its time for a 30 minute ramble before every game because I spent a majority of the day listening to this guy talk. Will unfortunately is worried more about squeezing every last penny out of you rather than making the day fun. The only saving grace was the other players, because the 45 minutes we actually spent on the field playing I didn't have a single issue with any dishonest play. read more

Great place for outdoor fun! Well organized with many options for food. The people that play here feel like family more than players.

Great field and the owner is super chill and doesn't tolerate cheaters at all. There's a lot of different places on the field to camp during the milsims and when you're done playing you can go over to Dee's barn and play vr or pool and throw axes while drinking beer and having a pizza, all of the Refs here are super chill and fun to talk with. Out of all the fields I go to this one is my favorite cause it's reasonably priced for everything and the owner is honestly just another airsoft enthusiast who wants people to have fun. read more

The staff are nice yet was not given a good introduction of what they offer, how the site works. I would have loved a mini tour so that my kids had an idea of what they could expect. There were a lot of groups there that seem to know what they were doing. They were dressed to the hilt, wore colored bands to determine sides, and appeared to be having fun. Just had to make an assessment based on what we had seen, rather than being shown. We did get the lo-down that cost drops after mid afternoon. read more

Facility is ok, but if you don't own your own Airsoft gun, don't come here. The rentals are horrible. I ended up just leaving without ever even being able to play a full game because every gun they gave didn't work. Owner is an idiot. read more

This place Is GREAT!!! So much fun to play airsoft at Black Ops. Two fields to play on; one huge woodys field; one smaller CQB field. It it well run and safe. Owner (Will) takes safety and cheating seriously. A big selection of gear if you need something and repair techs are available. Guns are available to rent but you better get there early especially on days with nice weather. It can get a little crowded in the staging areas but there Is lots of room outside, too. They play many different types of game (CTF, Domination, Hostage rescue, etc. My favorite is anything involving the "killhouse". Its pure adrenaline. Ive been playing there around once a month for the last two years and it never gets old. If you wamt to unleash your inner airsoft warrior BOA is the place to do it. read more

Been going to BlackOps Airsoft since they were located in zion. Yea this place is still in the works.. but I still love going here. People are nice and usually great team players. Honestly the best field in the area. read more

If I could give it no stars I would, we drove an hour to wait in a line that was not moving at all for exactly 51 minutes to get just get wristbands to play. When we got to the front we asked for a discount to play because we already missed the first round of play and the lady that owns or co owns the place went off on us and told us to get out or she was going to call the police. Her husband who was more calm tried to check us in and get us playing but she kept telling him no and that she was going to call the police on us because we weren't leaving. Our group decided to leave so we would not have the cops called on us. She gave the person in front of us a discount on play when they asked but when we asked she just kicked us out. Definitely do not recommend the place and I won't be coming again. read more

Great place I played at the old field more on Green Bay rd they recently moved To a new location it needs time to build but still very cool place the new milsim type games are very cool very immersive me and this guy I teamed up had to do. A recon mission capture all the flags we never got caught had some engagements really fun and also when your at bases they leave water out their for you witch is awesome read more

People are great. Me and friends have played here for about a year now. Have had problems with other players but the refs have always been really helpful. Will is great and is always improving the field. Field is super fun and I am looking forwards to the renovation plans. read more

Just went here for the first time to attend colony wars 2015. I'm not reviewing on any other event. When it began, I thought it was going to be awesome but quickly found out otherwise. Team work was not emphasized, the colony leaders (already for the green) would not listen to any advice about flanks or other ideas which quickly led to an ineffective gunfight. Radios where not overly talked about in the into and people constantly used it for the wrong thing. Many other players were cheating and the refs seemed slightly biased on teams. They were also rather immature, and one ref stated that "Haha guys I'm a ref and I'm going to go full auto at night and break my own rules..." The night aspect of the game was terrible, and all of the refs left the field. People only screwed around and killed teammates. About half of our colony (Including my team and myself) just left because the thing turned ridiculous. Mission objectives were rather lame (We had to find a red bucket, and walk somebody to the village which was only a 30 second walk from our base) and the reward point system really didn't improve dynamics. The 20 foot engagement rule should have been 10. Our base finally got invaded because some idiot that led our prisoner exchange let the other team enter our base and kill us all. One aspect that was pushed was getting gasoline for our generators (Which didn't make a difference because only the police station seemed to have one and it basically had unlimited fuel. But as said, the night portion of the game is what ruined it for me. I can't describe how bad it is... To conclude, if the system was refined and refs were more mature by following the rules, objectives were intensified, and leadership was improved, the field would be a lot better. We paid 50$ and expected a really cool experience but instead got nearly the opposite. read more

Been here 2x with my crew. The 1st time I went, my kid was firing his gun trying to adjust his hopup. The owner comes and blurts out, "save your ammo"! He then turns to his buddies, makes a face to try to encourage them to laugh. 2nd time I went during the peak of the battle, the ref behind me shoots me directly in the spine and calls it an integrity check. I really do not appreciate paying money to join a game just to be ruined by a referee during the climax of the game and shoots me on the bone. He could of at least shot me in a less vital portion of my back. Like everywhere else. As of the moment I still feel some tingling sensation on my back. On the way to the safe zone when a game was over, like really close to the entrance, my goggles accidentally falls halfway below my eyebrow but not below my eyes which was still really covered and the ref behind me shoves me out and rudely says go go go! Like im a dog. I know profanity in airsoft fields is inevitable, but the mouths of many people here are so dirty they need a huge bag of orbit gum. Even the owners shirt celebrates profanity by the words that are written on it. I like the way 1 reviewer writes it on illinoisairsoft.com forum. "A bunch of kids acting tough." Some games are ok, other games are so disorganized. Lots of mosquitoes, people smoking on the field. So for belittling my kid, the rudeness and god complex demeanor of some staff. a big thumbs down. Having said all that, there were some decent employees there. Like the people in the store and 1 ref. The map wasnt horrible, it was average. It improved over time just like most fields.
