14 Market Street Bradford,…read more BD1 1LH This pub is based in the thick of bradford town centre surrounded by some good shops its a good place to go for a quick drink. The pub has an unique feel to it as it is very gothlike - the interior is all dark but very cosy. The seating is like church pews which does get a bit uncomfortable and makes your bottom go numb but after a few pints, etc, you dont notice. The feel of this pub is very cosy, relaxed and friendly. They usually have some kind of rock metal or other hard music playing but not too loud as to deafen you. They also do live music nights which usually feature a rock or metal band but, it is very popular so you do need to get there early to get a seat. The toilets could do with being repaired as they look like they have been untouched in centurys and they are down some unstable steep stairs in the basement which is quite scary. It seems to have a very haunting atmosphere down there. The staff are nice and friendly and do like to entertain you in their unique loud way. Unfortunately they dont do bar food otherwise i would go in more often.

Inside it is dark and gothic and the seating is like hard church aisle seats which can get uncomfortable after a while, but, there are also normal chairs to ease the pain. There is a small seating area near the stained glass window which is very cosy and snug. They serve lots of diffrent beers, wines and spirits and soft drinks but they dont serve food. The staff are nice and friendly even if they do look scary in their rock clothes but thats what makes it different. The only drawback for me is the toilets are they are down some steep steps which dont look safe and unfortunately they are very old and dated. They need a good tidying up and decorating but then it does add to the atmosphere of the pub.

This is only a small bar which is on two floors but the shape and design of it is very unique and different - from the entrance at the back there are about 6 steps up to the first floor. On the entrance floor there is space for tables but they arent always out to be used. Then on the main floor there is the bar and a few tables - this is nice and snug and gets cosy on a normal night but very packed on a weekend or friday night which are the busy promotion nights where they have cocktails and beers and shots on special offer. Then you go up some more stairs to the upper floor which also has a small bar and has tall high tables and stools - the lighting is blue up here and gives it a really classy feel to it. The toilets are also based on the top floor and these get very busy and you need to be prepared to wait for long stretches to use them. They do food during the day which is the normal pub grub type but, they dont do many special offers on their food whch takes away some of their custom considering other bars nearby do 2 for 1s and that The food is nice and tasty and very filling but it a bit on the dear side. The service is very good here and the staff are lovely and polite but seem to change quite often - mainly students seem to work the bar.

This place was recommended to me by the staff at the City Vault pub also in the city centre, I…read moreLUUUURVE that place. We were looking for somewhere that did a Sunday roast and unfortunately the City Vault don't. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, it was cosy and a little old fashioned which I personally like in a pub! We ordered two beef roasts, costing a very affordable £5.25 each! The sliced roast beef came with half a giant Yorkshire pud, a ball of sage and onion stuffing, some roast, mashed and boiled potatoes (sounds a lot but it actually wasn't as they only put a few of each style on the plate), veg and gravy. It wasn't the best beef I've ever had but it was nice enough, especially considering the price! My favourite parts of the meal were the roast potatoes and the gravy. The Yorkshire pud was pretty decent too. We proceeded to order a cappuccino and a hot chocolate but my friend confused the staff by changing her order last minute and they ended up bringing over a cappuccino, a latte AND a hot chocolate. They were kind enough to let us keep the extra one for no extra charge. I really like it when staff in restaurants and bars do this because the alterative is chucking it away and what's the point in that :) The coffee itself wasn't great so I won't be ordering that again, too bitter. I plan on trying the chicken next time.

We actually went twice in one day, once for beer and then back for dinner. Hubby had the lamb chop and cleaned his plate. I got the Korean chicken and the fried mac n cheese, I would go every night for those alone! Every seat in the place has views of several TVs so worked out well to watch Queen Elizabeth funeral today, memorable broadcast.
