Following the death of the founder and its tireless chief executive, Ken Martindale (1948-2011), and the loss of premises, I regret to advise that Black British Heritage is no longer functioning. During its existence BBH pioneered a local Black British History trail and celebrated the achievements of many black British people, including the many people from the Caribbean and Africa who responded in wartime to the call of the mother country and served around the world in the armed services and in support roles such as nursing. read more
