The owner is some awful nasty older man, I went in quick to grab a bottle of wine. First time ever being in the store and it is EMPTY the majority of the shelves on the wall are empty barely any selection to choose from. So I walk in and since the shelves are so empty I start towards the back to what looks like a wine room, only to get my head bit off by the owner saying I was not allowed back there it was for stocking inventory only, No sign or door warning that, but ok guess snapping at me was necessary. So then I start looking through the stores pathetic selection and the owners idea of helping me is literally taking bottles of wine and throwing them at me here take this one take this one, not helpful just completely condescendingly rude had to tell him I need a minute to look for him to leave me alone. When I finally selected a bottle and brought it to the register I was 50 cents short I asked if I could run to my car quick to grab the 50 cents because I preferred to pay cash not charge my debit card, the owner absolutely refused to let me run to my car 10 feet away for 50cents I'm unsure why I didn't argue with him since he absolutely cannot by law refuse me to leave his store without full payment WITHOUT THE BOTTLE OF WINE (basically if I just changed my mind and decided not to buy the bottle of wine, which I am absolutely allowed to do) I suppose I was just taken back by how rude he was. So I say fine and I pay with my card (which is debit) and he refuses to run the card as credit and charges me an additional $1.00 for using debit even though EVERY OTHER STORE ON PLANET EARTH lets you charge credit. At this point I am just like whatever it's a dollar I just need to get home and enjoy my wine so I pay and leave. However my whole drive home I am just kicking myself of how I just laid down and took that mans horrible treatment when all along I could have and SHOULD HAVE just walked out and taken my business elsewhere. Another thing to mention would be that there prices are outrageous, I do live in Albany and buy the majority of my alcohol from empire wine and liquor (a must go to anyone in the Albany area CANNOT BEAT THE PRICES) anyway so a bottle of Kendall jackson at empire is about 11$ and at this place (liquor locker) they were charging 23$ aka I could have bought two of the same bottle from empire for LESS than the price of one bottle at this place.. My overall experience was absolutely horrible, forget the convience take the extra mile drive and go somewhere else!!!!!
