This place is amazing! My aunt and I went in this past week for flowers for my grandma's funeral. They greeted us immediately and helped guide us when we gave them more details about what we wanted. We didn't want to spend a ton of money so they leaded us to an area where they had recycled vases for a cheaper prices which I thought was so cool. When I called Bitterroot Flower Shop about ten minutes after they opened on the Tuesday after Mother's Day asking if they could complete the very delayed wishes of a long distance friend, to pick up two different and unique flower arrangements to deliver to his loved ones, I was worried they would not be able to help me... boy, was I wrong!!! Margie (I hope I spelled that correctly) helped me so kindly and efficiently. She simply asked my price range and what time I would need to pick them up. I received a bouquet Today while in the hospital. It was ordered over the phone from Phoenix. Very disappointed. The flowers looked like they were Squished in delivery. They look about as bad as I feel. Two flowers are actually open the rest look like they never will open. The one big flower looks 1/2 dead. Very disappointed. I called from out of state and the woman I spoke with was beyond helpful, kind, patient with me as I had screaming toddlers in the background and couldn't gather my thoughts and she never rushed me on the phone ! I am not someone who writes bad reviews, but after the experience my wife and I had at our wedding, I would absolutely hate for anyone to go through the same ordeal. On our wedding day alone, they FORGOT to deliver the flowers to our venue until we called asking where they were, pushing our ceremony to start later in the day. On top of still being charged for the delivery, they weren't even the right flowers! The elegant white headpiece my wife ordered was replaced with a massive red rose bulb, along with other mistakes. The WORST part of it all was we had been trying to stay in constant communication with them for about a year! From the first day we were very up front about what we wanted. The times that they would respond to us in email or by phone (which wasn't that often), they would reply with emails containing flowers that had NOTHING to do with what we asked for (colors, flowers, etc). We are incredibly easy to work with, but working with these guys was an additional stress that I wouldn't wish on anyone preparing a wedding. read more

I got married at a guest ranch about 45 minutes outside of Missoula in September 2012. We were on a budget and after checking other florists in the area, we were sold on Bitterroot. (Let me put it this way, when I gave a different florist my entire flower budget, she came back with a quote for just my bouquet that was 1.5x my entire flower budget. I found that to be incredibly obnoxious and was worried that I would not be able to find a florist who would understand my budget constraints.) Lynda at Bitterroot did not make me feel bad that I was on a budget at all. In fact, she made us feel like we were being responsible adults for not going overboard. She used local flowers which were in season to make several bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. She sat down with us for an in-person appointment when we went through color schemes, ribbons, flower types, etc. so everything would be perfect. And it absolutely was. We were able to put some more money towards the bouquets right before the wedding, so Lynda added even more beautiful flowers before we picked them up. When we showed up to get them, they were all ready to go in sturdy vases/boxes which were perfect for the 45 minute ride back to the ranch. The flowers held up without water for an extra 4-days after the wedding. Wedding planning is extremely stressful. Bitterroot made flowers the easiest part of the planning.
