tldr just dont use bitner bros Had the roof redone on the house. The price was reasonable and was completed quickly. That is about where the positive stops. Once the the roof started to leak is were Bitner Bros really showed there true colors. Started calling with the first signs of leaks showed up. Blamed the gutters which were clear ignoring the failed flashing. Fast forward a few months gutters are clear new down spouts, leaking turning rain storms. I crawl in the eves and can see day light through the roof. I start calling leaving messages. When i do talk to someone I am promised call backs I hear nothing. After talking with some former employees that is pretty typical. Sub standard work refusal to correct. It took months of calling like every other day. Finally got someone out to look at it. The leak was fixed but the repair is sub standard. I was told that someone from the office was going to call about cleaning up and painting "since it took so long" nothing no call we are going on a year since that happened. I gave up on calling because i didn't have water coming in. Well guess what... I have leaks again. Instead of spending all of the time to get them out to address it(which would take forever) I called someone else to look at it. Please save yourself a headache and NOT use Bitner Brothers. The work was so poor that I had to have the foundation replaced already. they started the project of putting an 5X14' porch on our house, they started the project in June 2019 and didn't finish until the end of October. He then accused me of owing him another $1,500 when I only owed him $500. and pulled his crew off the job before it was finished due to "lack of payment". I had proof of payment, spoke to Elka the office manager and she also agreed that the payment was made. I asked her the email me the receipt of payment which she never did. My husband and I had to finish the porch ourselves. Even if you take him to court (which I did) he did not pay me the money I was awarded. This man needs to held accountable for his actions, but he knows the system and how to abuse it. I would add pictures if I could. read more

My parents paid this company $6800 to put a new roof on both their house & breezeway in July 2017. The company didn't do the facing right between the house & breezeway roofs & now there is a leak in my parents' kitchen ceiling & wall only 2 yrs after the work was done. They also re-used old material around the chimney & didn't fix the roof properly around the chimney. I called the company & asked them to call me back to report this issue. No one returned my call. My elderly parents now have to shell out another $5000 to fix the damage as home owners insurance doesn't cover damage due to shoddy work. I plan to file a complaint with the state attorney generals office as this is completely unacceptable work. As far as I'm concerned, they should have to pay for the repairs for the damage they caused. Update: Someone called me on 6-3-19 from Bitner Brothers & told me that she would talk to the owner about refunding a portion of the money my parents' paid them for the new roof they put on in July 2017 since the work wasn't done right & we had to get another company to fix the roof properly. A month later we have not heard back from them & no partial refund has been issued even though they should help pay for the water damage that occurred because of the shoddy work that was done. read more

I requested an estimate for a kitchen remodel from Bitner Brothers Construction. A guy in a red truck came to house to provide an estimate. He gave us a round number estimate and said that he would return in a couple of days to discuss further. Days later, we were gathering estimates from other contractors for the work and it just so happened that the red truck guy showed up unannounced to our home just as another contractor was leaving. He questioned the guy why he was at our home. He had no right to do so and furthermore showed up unannounced. I contacted to office to express my concerns and the women who answered replied "so what do you want me to do about it". This business is very unprofessional and rude. Terrible communication, I got my basement renovated and it was estimated to take 2-3 weeks and ended up taking 1.5 months.... also, the receptionist hung up on me and then ignored my phone calls. I had my friend call to see if she would answer and she did when it was a different number. They spoke to me like I was stupid when in reality they have not a clue what they're talking about. Do not go through Bitner bros for your renovations. read more

He came to give me quote but, would not because insurance was involved. He only wanted to go through insurance to guarantee that he got the job. He wanted a guarantee instead of competing for the job. I wanted to decide on who works in my house. Not some insurance agreement with the contractor. I would never use them. read more

Very unprofessional and unpleasant. Untrustworthy and unreliable. They do not keep their appointments and do not communicate with customers.they reschedule you without informing you then either call and cancel or don't show up at all. When you call to figure out why Michelle curses you out and hangs up. Do your research... There are numerous complaints all regarding the same issues. Go elsewhere and save your self a headache. read more

We had two bathrooms remodeled by Bitner Brothers Construction. The installers were fantastic, very professional and did wonderful work. Bitner Brothers did not get anything correct, from ordering the supplies to communicating with us. We sat with the salesperson from Bitner for 2 hours, he wrote all our wants down, the colors of everything, what we expected, the date the job would start and when it was to be completed. They were to start in April and did not start the job until a month later in May, they did not let us know, we had to call them when they did not show up on the date agreed to. Here it is July and we are still waiting for some items to get here. Some of the office staff was rude. They need to take a class in communication, we could not communicate with them, the only way we got any information is by talking to the sub-contractor. They talked down to us which is not acceptable. I have more comments but it is too much to mention. read more

We contacted them for an urgent evaluation and quote and the less-than-kind receptionist told us they don't do that if it's raining. After saying it was our only day home during the day during the week, she tried scheduling for noon on Wednesday. Reiterating we work and would like to be there for the eval and quote as we had questions and concerns, she finally settled on a 4:30 appointment. My wife made sure she could leave work early so at least one of us could be home to speak with the evaluator. Wednesday afternoon I notice I have a voicemail. It was the evaluator saying he was in the area and since it was so hot out, he decided to check out the roof then instead of at our scheduled time. Our issue was with the back add on of the house and he said the whole thing was done wrong and would have to be redone and he quoted $5500, and told me to call if we wanted them to do it. No explanation, no discussion of what they would do or what material is needed... or what type of roofing we would like (shingle, metal, rubber, etc). Needless to say, we were fairly angry. Not only did we SCHEDULE an appointment for a reason, but with no one home, what if he had gotten hurt? Or what if he had damaged something on the property or fell through the roof, etc? Furthermore, we got home and the tarp was in the exact same spot it was that morning. It didn't look as if anyone had been up on the roof. My wife called and the guy who answered said the same thing, that the whole back end needed to be redone. He said the wrong type of shingle (3 tab) was used. He said that all of the board under the shingle was rotted and had to be replaced, which we knew to be incorrect because the day prior another company's representative had come out and spent over an hour looking at the roof, inside and out, explaining everything to us, answering our questions. The guy on the phone was adamant at "selling" this shingle they use and my wife kept asking him what the tab count is and he wouldn't answer, then put the phone "on hold" to grab an information sheet... only didn't put it on hold, he put it down and we could hear him huffing and complaining that questions were being asked. Ends up, that shingle was ALSO a 3 tab shingle... the very kind the evaluator said was incorrect. He insisted that the guy was up on the roof... but never once mentioned all of the nails that were popping up. The evaluator that was out the day before, that was his first expression, at the sheer number of nails popping through. He took over 40 pictures to show us, and explained it was due to no ventilation being put in when the roof was installed, and that THAT was the reason why it was leaking. This joke from Bitner never even diagnosed the problem, just said "need a new roof". And their quote of $5500 for a tiny 3rd of our roof was astronomical when we had been quoted at 6-8 grand to have THE ENTIRE HOUSE redone. Those quotes included a breakdown of exactly what would be done and the materials needed, etc. Something Bitner refused to disclose. What they didn't expect was that my wife works construction and is well versed in what all is involved in roofing, and it appeared as if Bitner was just trying to take advantage of a couple who had just bought their first house and was having an emergency, hoping they would just accept what they said by saying "it was all done wrong" and needed to be replaced immediately... a sentiment no other estimator expressed. I'm just surprised, for a company that seems to exude professionalism... from that initial call to the last, they really seem like swindlers, willing to take advantage of an urgent situation in hoping the home owners have no idea what is really going on. But after seeing the reviews on here and elsewhere, it's obvious their presentation is a veneer. read more
