The mushrooms did give some flavor but we're not enough to compensate for the lack of taste. I would come back but next time order something else. Staff was friendly. You could either eat outside enjoying the weather or inside on colder or rainy days. So that talk about the place has been there burgers so since I am a burger lover and have to many all over the world let's give this place a try. They have only a few options to choose from. One is the normal beef with cheddar cheese and bacon burger at a cost of 18€ with basic normal fries (That's what I ordered). While my wife ordered there special burger that was imported with a white cheese which cost a extremely high price of 20€ includes potato wedges nice flavor. Overall both burger were served on normal hamburger buns that got way to messy as you bite into your burger. The bacon cheese burger was a over salty for both of us and for me average at best specially for that high price tag and fries where below average as well as this is being Belgium and they are known for there fires. While the special house burger had good flavor but also was average for the high price tag and the potato wedges were excellent that was the life line of the meal. Me and my wife enjoy the people working there and drinks there are excellent as well. Large selection of many different kinds of Gin and wine.

The interior is basic and so is the food but I have to say the service is excellent, they are very friendly! We ordered the 'special' breakfast which comes with cheese, ham, jam, fruit juice, fruit salad, pastries and coffee/tea, so everything you would expect there to be was being served but because it was served within 1 minute of arriving it felt a bit canteen-style. I also think that almost everybody else who was having breakfast had a special coupon (like Bongo or Groupon), so that also added up a bit to the canteen feel. I believe the breakfast was 12EUR per person so really good value for money. Even though the food and service was ok, the canteen feel makes me not want to go there again myself. But if you are in the neighborhood and looking for good value I would recommend this place.

Du Phare is a very good place to go out late at night, because it is open much later than most bars/restaurants in Bruges. For us, it was extra appealing because it is located right across the street from where we were staying in the northern part of the city. We went twice and enjoyed ourselves both times. It has a lively atmosphere inside and sometimes it offers nice views of the moonlit canal just outside the window. S

Took awhile to get the attention of the waiter after he dropped the menus. We needed to change them for English versions. Our danish is brutal. Started with a lovely rose and a dark leffe. Perfect on a warm day. Ordered 3 appys. The smoked salmon, which was good but I prefer the smoked salmon in Canada. This just doesn't have the umpth, you know? Came with lemon, and arugula, and one piece of toast cut in half. A whole plate of smoked salmon and one measly piece of toast? We also ordered the scampi. It was excellent. But there was nothing to sop up all that beautiful garlic and butter. They finally brought a basket of bread but toy really need a crispy baguette to go with the scampi. Also ordered the cheese croquettes. They reminded me a little of mozzarella sticks, deep fried. A little off putting. I asked for mayo to at least dip them in something. I'm surprised they don't come with some kind of sauce. Kinda boring just deep fried cheese. I'll probably never be back but that's mainly because I'll probably never be back to Bruge.

I had the four course: the bread came with butter (not just butter, but I'll let you experience that) and pate. I copied the photo here of my menu. The skate fish was amazing, and the dessert was incredible. The food was NOT over salted nor over sugared, but rather the flavors and textures spoke for themselves. What a wonderful place. I would come to Belgium again just for this. The wine was quite good and only E33/bottle. I think price/value was better than most here.
