Bottom line first: small intimate setting, spotty service, very good food with generous portions
We booked a dinner in advance after our shopping day. It was a decent trek from Galleria Lafayette. The place was relatively small, and as part of that, the front house gent was unable or unwilling to accommodate our asking for another table, other than the central one next to the door, which I wasn't happy about. The service was spotty, as the waitress seemed to be overwhelmed, but she was friendly when she was attending to us.
She made recommendations, and we ended up starting was the onion soup, escargot, and deviled eggs. And onion soup with very good and filling, with classic cheese and toast on top. Escargot was good, and the mimosa eggs were fine. Between the four of us, the entrées consisted of the veal, lamb, Sausage, and the hanger steak. All were good and reasonably portioned, but I think I like my veal the best with an unexpected tasty grits surrounding the plate. They were actually enough lamb and Vio leftover for a nice breakfast the next day
For dessert, we tried the classic mille-feuille, and, of course, the chocolate mousse. The mousse was tasty, dense, and unexpectedly large. The mille-feuille was crispy and tasty, and I'm glad we went with that recommendation to try a true French classic.
Overall, I think it was a good experience, but be prepared for the limitations in service. By the way, be forewarned that the bathroom with the only toilet may not have a truly functional locking door. read more
