Clean, Comfortable, New...and "dark"…read more I'm working in Leipzig this week and staying in an apartment attached to the "Dark Restaurant-Moon Something", it would have helped to speak German-but convenience and a place that was very pleasing to the eye took precedence over cuisine or anything else. I walked in and asked to be seated for dinner. And no I didn't have a reservation. Sign in the window said to choose seafood, meat, vegetarian or house choice. I didn't realize that the sign in the window was the whole menu, or that dark and moon had a significance more than name. Dark, means dark here. Waiters and waitresses are blind. Tables are in a dark room where diners are lead and seated. Once sitting-food is brought to you, and served in complete darkness. Afterwards, diners are brought out to the bar area to discuss what they were served - they were not told specifics, and to share the experience of eating in the dark. Does it enhance the food? Could you talk comfortably while eating in the dark. And what would it feel like to always have to be in the dark. The manager thought the experience better if I was not alone. So I deferred dinner to another time, settling for dessert in the bar area before entrance to dark area. Interesting concept. 4 courses is 70 Euro Reservations suggested. Fun and thoughtfulness encouraged.
