Amazing location. Faces the malecón . Perfect place to see the sunset. There are tables both inside and out. Even the inside ones are open to the outside. One area has a large bar with TVs playing sports. We were seated fairly quickly. The service was extremely slow, even by local standards. We spent over two hours for dinner. The food was good. I had lunch here two days in a row; that's how tasty the food is. Service is friendly, even if you don't speak much Spanish. The waterfront al fresco dining is nice when the weather is pleasant, which it almost invariably is at this time of year. The only thing I wish were different is that I really wish they would allow their customers to add tip to the credit card payment. They accept tips only in cash, which is quite inconvenient, especially for foreign customers many of whom prefer not to carry much local currency (fortunately, US dollars are widely accepted here). My personal favorite dish on this extensive menu is the mackerel ajillo. The generous quantities of garlic and guajillo peppers really help bolster the flavors of the fresh fish. read more

I am the type of person that likes to constantly ask locals for a recommendation, and Bismarkcito was probably included in every response I received. There are many great culinary experiences in La Paz, and you must include this establishment in that category. The menu is so extensive, it will challenge the seafood knowledge of many connoisseurs. The prices are not on the cheap side, but spot-on for the quality of the experience. There are several incredible dishes for you to try, but don't leave this place without ordering the " Stuffed Chocolate Clams" featured in the photos. C'est magnifique! My only disappointment was their inability to allow you to include a tip with your credit card payment. Be prepared and carry some cash to tip the service provider, or you will be subjected to the embarrassment I went through. They lost a star for that one. I was tempted to remove two. read more

This restaurant is pretty with a large lit up tree along the main road. Great for people watching, it has a large seafood based menu. I regret what I ordered. I ordered fish stuffed with shrimp. The fish was like a hot pocket, and there was all kinds of seafood (and cheese, eww) inside it. I didnt eat a lot of the dish because I don't like squid, octopus, or clams, and I def dont like cheese with my fish. My cocktail was generic. They only serve tacos at lunchtime which was also a disappointment. I'd try this place again but I would def order something else and I would clarify all the ingredients. read more

Beware of Credit Card Theft! My wife and I stopped in at Bismarkcito to have drink during a wander along the malecon this last week. Sat at the bar and had reasonable service - even though the friendly bartender seemed slammed. The restaurant (outdoors and in) was pretty busy and the bar was mostly filled. A couple of beers later we asked for "la cuenta" and as the bar tender started to assist, another employee (bar manager maybe?) jumped in and said he would "take care of it". He wandered off with our credit card - which we should have immediately noticed as odd in Mexico as transactions are routinely managed at the table/bar. Returned with the card and (in hindsight) an incomplete receipt - didn't ask for a signature (another red flag) and asked us to tip in cash. Off we went. That evening my credit card company started notifying us that we had numerous suspicious charges on our card. The only place the card had been used that day was at Bismarkcito! So, obviously "taking care of it" was a complete rip off. Enjoy the many other wonderful and trustworthy restaurants/bars in La Paz and beware of Bismarkcito! Que lastima!!! read more

This was likely the best restaurant on our 4 day trip. We wanted a whole fried fish (we had a hard time finding in town) they sell this by weight (approx 4$ a lb). Had a couple beers and lemonade along with ceviche tostadas which were also amazing. Downsides are that the town is sooooo hot and humidity was high... it's a lil tough to eat. Stopped in for dinner based on the recommendation from our hotel. I ordered an aperol spritz which was really watered down and flat, and the sesame ahi tuna which was not good. The fish was lightly seared and portion size was good, but something had been done to the fish that rendered it extremely dry and chewy - almost like it had been salted and turned into jerky. It was inedible and the prices were very expensive for the quality of food. You are paying for the view of the Malecon but better to save your money and go to better eats off the tourist run. read more

This place was highly recommend by a friend we met in Los Cabos. We went there on a Sunday night and sat outside which was a real treat because we got to watch all the locals cruise the strip. THE FOOD- First off, my husband is a lobster fanatic and this was the best lobster he had on the trip. Second, my plate....YUM!! I can't remember what it was called, but basically it was sea bass grilled in a red salsa. So good!! Our server was name Christian and he was amazing! We came to this restaurant because it was recommended by a taxi driver. My fiancé and I came to La Paz on a little summer getaway. We came in with high expectations. The vibe and location was great! Unfortunately, we had to start deducting stars shortly after arriving. First, the mango margaritas we ordered were tasteless. It was as if they gave us unsweetened mango purée juice. It was blended and we didn't get straws. We had to ask for straws twice! Second, the food arrived. The food was very dry. Stay away from the lobster and stingray tacos. They were dry and not tasty. The scallop taco were not too bad. The Lobster stuffed Chile relleno was not what I expected as it was a seafood mix which was not listed on the menu. There was more shrimp, scallops, octopus in it than lobster. I actually don't think it had any to be honest. Third, the menu stated 95 pesos for lobster tacos, but we were charged 135. When we questioned it they said the prices went up, but they hadn't updated the menu. That just seemed very wrong, and to be honest, unprofessional. Fourth, the service was bad. We waited forever on the straws, which normally we can do without but it was nearly impossible to sip a blended margarita. Then napkins, again we had to ask 2 different waitresses for napkins. This has been the worst restaurant in La Paz. It all came out to a few things: 1) Staff- when we arrived they made us wait 20 minutes and we had a reservación. The staff were not friendly at all. Once we got seated, the table was just above the speaker and fan. When asked to get changed to a different table, we had to ask a few different waiters to get moved to a different table where the fan was not working and we were so hot we couldn't enjoy our food. 2) ambience- it was extremely noisy. Between the fan, TV and the loud speaker with the soccer game no one was watching, made it unbearable to talk. On top of it , a singer joined the already extreme noisy restaurant. 3) food - I got the scallop ceviche and they were tasteless like they haven't been marinated at all. My parents got tacos and they were sooooo greasy they had to order additional napkins to soak all the grease. My son got the beef ribs and they were over cooked and covered in grease as well. The pizza as well was all greasy. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant read more

Do not come to this restaurant! We came here for dinner tonight and had the most horrific experience. It's Monday night and barely had anyone in the restaurant. We got seated around 8pm and couldn't get at least water for 30 mins (and had to remind our water). We ordered steamed clams, rice and their surf and turf and asked for the premium steak as listed. Took almost an hour for us to see any food just to received the wrong order. Our waiter EDWARD started arguing with us insisting that we ordered just the ribeye instead of the Surf and turf. Ribeye was cold and tough. He brought the cold rice as we were asking to give us the check. Our experience of La Paz has been incredible until tonight. It's a shame! read more
