The steak was a solid prime filet--cooked well and enjoyable, even if it didn't quite steal the show from the tots. Visit #2: I tried the Chef's Charcuterie Board (which, plot twist, is served on a plate... not a board) and the Forklift Fried Chicken. The chicken plate was a little disappointing for me. The collard greens and cornbread were definitely "not how momma made them" (kidding... kind of). Still edible, just not memorable. Both visits left me satisfied, but it's more of a "stroll back" than a "run back" kind of place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, which always bumps a restaurant up a notch in my book. I didn't try one of their Old Fashioneds--apparently what they're known for--but I did go for the Fire of Mordor cocktail. Tequila-based, delicious, and honestly the name alone sold me. Cozy restaurant, and we had reservations both times even though it wasn't packed. Overall, Forklift is a nice spot to land for a good meal in Tupelo.

The service the minute we walked in was attentive, warm and friendly. Even staff who weren't waiting on us wished us a nice meal. And nice it was! My guy and I shared the scallops appetizer, the mixed salad with peach, and the Branzino. Everything was delightful and a symphony to the palate! Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and presentation! Our hostess and waitress was Ryle and she was so polite and warm with her southern charm. The couple we were dining with had the halibut and were easily accommodated when they requested potatoes instead of grits. The restaurant was not busy so we had extra attention. We felt so well cared for and enjoyed the ambiance and delicious food for quite a while. I hope we come back to Tupelo again someday. We will definitely want to return to this place! Belvis burger is our go to burger. The burger of the month is blue cheese bacon with fig preserves. I usually prefer savory over sweet, but the combination is magical. We added in loaded fries. Help yourself to the cooler of beers or drafts. We never leave without buying a bottle of their jerky sauce, sweet with a little spicy. We plan our travels to make sure that we make to Neon Pig whenever possible.
