From our recent experience with Blue Compass in Rockport, take my advice and DO NOT let them work…read moreon your RV. It took them over 100 days to fix our RV and there were other customers that had been there 4-5 months ahead of us. While our RV was there at least 4 employees quit and 3 were fired. That we know of. This means that one tech may start work on your RV and someone else that may or may not be qualified will put it back together. We did find that most of the employees generally desired a good relationship with customers, but the management was atrocious. I requested that the service manager Chris K. call me and I'm still waiting for that call. Our experience was so frustrating that after 3 years of RV'ing we decided to sell the RV. Yes, it was that bad. This brought us into contact with the General Manger Russell S. whom we inquired about selling or consigning our RV with Blue Compass. After this interaction I wouldn't have sold my RV to them if they had offered full retail value and that's why we drove all the way to Houston and sold it there. During this process I encountered several other locals that also had a negative experience with Blue Compass, Rockport, so I don't think it was just us. So, if you're getting repairs or even buying, my recommendation is to go someplace else. It is my understanding that Russell S. is the manager of the Corpus Christi store too, so it may be just as bad there.

We shopped here when it was ExploreUSA for an RV. We liked our salesperson Jan Goldstein. He was…read moreknowledgeable and helpful. But ExploreUSA didn't just sell it for the stated price. They tacked on the freight charge THEY PAY to get the trailer to them and an inspection fee as well as the usual TTL. So the price customers pay was thousands more than the sale price. No thanks. We drove 5 hours to buy our TT from a straightforward dealer. We paid stated price plus TTL. No hidden charges. Two stars for a good selection of travel trailers and a helpful salesperson. I hope the new owner reads this and does things differently because of it.

Howdy RV - Woohoo!! Huge congrats to the Perney Family on their new 2023 MDC Overland XT16HRD Family!
This rugged off-road camper is great!

What an absolute nightmare! Consign your RV elsewhere. They can't seem to keep staff around. Ask to…read morespeak to someone else if your call is answered by Ivy or Paul Petrone (that is, if they are even still there after 6 months). Dealt with 3 different employees over a 6 month period as the current staff member had "moved on". Phone calls never returned and the attitude that you are served is just wonderful! I swear I thought my RV had been stolen after being on consignment for 7 months and never receiving a straight answer from anyone. At one point, a former employee contacted me and stated that I needed to make an insurance claim on my RV as it had arrived at the Mathis location with roof damage. After a several day fiasco, it was determined that the damage was "supposedly" on another RV with an owner of the same name. Imagine how annoyed my insurance company was? At another point, when I was going to move the RV, several different employees almost begged me to keep it there on consignment, swearing it would be sold soon. Sure, for way less after they had it listed well over 10K above book. Ridiculous. And be wary of the manager Chris, who plays good cop and pretends to be sympathetic to your frustration. I have waited over a month and still have not received a bill of sale. This is on top of taking a reduced amount on a very popular model of RV that should have sold quickly. You will be better off listing your RV yourself. I should have went with their competitor in Rockport. FYI - the RV was originally purchased at Howdy. I have also bought and sold several personal RV's and boats over the last 20 years. The way this staff behaves at this business is incredible and I can't for the life of me understand how they are still in business. The high reviews are VERY suspect.

Howdy RV is AMAZING!! Highly recommend to all my friends & family. I've purchased two RVs from them…read morealready. First after Hurricane Harvey & a second recent trade up for more space. No other dealers showed me the same respect, helpfulness, & willingness to workout a deal. I swing by every so often for parts & propane but mainly just to chat with my salespeople. Kris is friendly & cool. I hear their Service dept is the best around btw. Luckily I've had no issues so far. But if so, that's where I'd go. Thinking about a utility trailer next since I didn't buy a toy hauler.
