The Brisket Biscuit
Rhett B.

My buddy and I was looking for a breakfast place before a disc golf tournament. We wanted something more than just the standard fast food biscuit and we found it at Biscuit Belly. There are no standard sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, chicken etc. biscuits here but all craft style. I saw a few biscuits I wanted to try but the Brisket Biscuit is what stood out to me. The brisket was more of a pot roast style with slaw and Alabama white sauce. The combination was delicious and I couldn't get enough of the tangy mayo-based BBQ sauce, which they game me more on request without charging. The actual biscuit was like a sandwich! It was a giant biscuit and it didn't fall apart on me like biscuit are known to do. My buddy got the Goat which is fried chicken and pepper jelly. That's one I will buy soon! I'm from Alabama and I'm also a sweet tea snob. The sweet tea at Biscuit Belly was the perfect drink with my brisket biscuit. It was adequately sweet and more importantly, freshly brewed. None of this syrup or sweet tea powder thrown together in a machine garbage. Biscuit Belly is my new favorite breakfast place in Evansville.

I am now a biscuit belly FAN! Went in with zero expectations and left wanting more and looking at the nearest location for my city. This was such a pleasant surprise and the fact that they have alcohol making any day a brunch day is a huge plus. The restaurant was well decorated with light music in the background and very clean with bright lighting from the windows. The staff was polite and helpful and we left feeling full and pleased! I am already looking forward to my next visit in the future!

Oh my goodness!! The food here is so good and I am sooooo stuffed! I had to try the Belly Buster. Go big or go home, right. It has egg, bacon, sausages, fried chicken, and brisket with cheese and gravy. All piled on an oversized brisket. I had coffee with it. They use Heine Brothers coffee out of Louisville. It's strong but not bitter. I like it. Also tried their hot sauce. Never had Hoff Hot Sauce before. Really thick, and not super spicy. They were super friendly and helpful with the menu. This place is a nice addition to Evansville. I'll be back.

Who doesn't love a good biscuit? Am I right ?!?! Biscuit Belly is a new chain spot that opened up on the east side of Evansville on Burkhardt Rd. Definitely a breakfast/brunch place as their hours are Min- Thur 730am to 2pm and Fri-Sun 730am-3pm. They offer everything from plain biscuits to biscuits full of anything you want. Portions are huge and you can easily split meals. Drink options are limited to tea, coffee, water and Organic soft drinks. They also have a small alcoholic menu. Pricing is well above average for some things and priced about right for others. For two people with two non-alcoholic drinks our total was $40 -The Evansville spot is brand new and while they clear your table for you, the tables and floor were filthy. As if they had not cleaned them in a few days. Our food wasn't as great as I hoped by was not terrible. Just ehhhhh. I'm not sure what is missing, but something is. I will give them another shot. Next time I'll try a drink as well.

Delicious brunch on a Sunday morning. Wasn't too terribly crowded. Fast service. Order the basic biscuit with an over easy egg and bacon. The food was great!

Food was amazing. I got the biscuit with GOAT cheese and it was fabulous. My 2 friends were impressed with their food as well. Service was quick and I completely enjoyed their staff. They were nice, had a good attitude, and were fun! Their Christmas decor is super cute, but also, I love their color scheme, their biscuit theme (seriously, cutest little biscuit-he has eyebrows). I would love to come back here.

Basic Biscuit - Sausage and Nashville Hot Mayo for the sauce option
Cassie L.

Went here for brunch today, and I ordered the Basic Biscuit: which is their standard biscuit containing an over easy egg, a slice of cheddar cheese, choice of bacon or sausage (I chose sausage), and a free sauce/condiment of your choice (I chose Nashville Hot Mayo). The biscuit sandwich is both huge and very filling. The biscuit by itself is huge and I personally didn't find it very greasy. The egg was almost over cooked, but the yolk still had parts that were runny and added a nice sauce-like texture for the sandwich. The sausage and cheese was also pretty good. The only issue that I had was when I received my sandwich, the staff forgot to include the Nashville hot mayo. I had to bring my dish back and ask one of the employees to get it for me; which seems quite minor, but I personally would like to make sure I get everything before eating. The mayo flavor-wise was okay, but I didn't find it very spicy. Overall, this sandwich was pretty good and I'd be open to trying more of their other menu items. The basic biscuit price point ($6 at the time of this review) is pretty good, but I also do think that some of their other menu items seem to be a bit too expensive.

This was my first time in here Janie's was very polite and nice when she took my order. I got my food fast and it's very delicious! This guy with a beard he told me his name but I forgot it I'm sorry i know it started with a R! he made a really good Dark bloody Mary.i will definitely be here again and I'm also going to let my friends know about it because it was delicious! I got the brisket biscuit! Yummy!

The piss poor management and terrible attitudes have ruined this place already. Very hostile management, if your manager can not handle the pressure of a busy Sunday morning breakfast crowd then you need to find another manager. Very disorganized but the ladies working at the counters was the nicest part of the experience. The ladies even acknowledged that the manager didn't know what she was doing and was making the situation of a busy morning worse. You can not get a table Unless you place an order. My 95 year old grandma has to stand and wait for 20 minutes until a table for four cleared up. There were tables of 6 with two people sitting down. I would rather drive to a Louisville location than come back to this location. In regards to the food, I got the Rockwell supreme and the cooks do know know how to make an medium egg, I received a fried egg pretty much. There wasn't much gravy on the Sandwich but my significant other got the standard B's&G's. The gravy is not meaty and taste like they used a meat flavoring. The sandwich options are creative and I would try others. but I would not recommend this location. I asked the woman who brought our food to the table what a sandwich was that was at another table to which she replied, "I don't know."

Our server had the best attitude and nicest southern bell accent even though she didn't think so. The food was all really quite good. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits. It was a hearty portion and she could not finish it. My son enjoyed the beef pot pie. It had a flaky crust, great flavor, and the beef was super tender. I am a Texan who has lived in the north for a VERY long time. I gave up on the idea of getting a good chicken fried steak in Indiana many years ago. Because of this restaurant, I had my first real chicken fried steak in a VERY long time. Now, I would be lying if I didn't think the batter was too salty. Things happen and getting something too salty is very easy thing to do. I also didn't care for it being served on top of the fries and red beans with rice. In Texas, there are usually two plates. One for the steak and one for the fixings. Would I try it again? You bet! I was just excited it was made from a real piece of round steak. We will be back. That is for sure.

I'm finally having a chance to review our visits to Freight House back in November!…read more My husband and I took a little trip to Paducah, and the main reason we chose this location for our vacation was Sara Bradley's restaurant Freight House. We both are fans of "Top Chef" and since her restaurant is within reasonable distance of home, we planned a trip around it. In fact, we made reservations for two nights in a row, to take in as much of the menu as possible! Between the two different days, we tried a number of appetizers, entrees and desserts. If I were to do this again the same way, I would do one day of apps and dessert and one day of entrees, just to spread things out a bit. What we ate: - Fall pickles: I enjoyed this, with the bit of chili heat, especially the cauliflower - Stuffed Mushrooms: I love mushrooms, and these blended creamy, sweet and hot with a filling of cream cheese, berry BBQ sauce and smoked jalapeno - Pistachio and herb chevre cheeseball: a fresh cheese enhanced by nutty and Herby notes - Smoked bologna: my husband's choice; very meaty and there was a lot of it - Spicy beer cheese spread: a very Midwestern feeling appetizer with tasty veggies and crackers Entrees: -Shrimp and grits: my choice: comforting southern food with lots of flavor - Duck fried rice: his choice: rich rice offset by more delicate vegetables - Sticky ribs: my choice: the pumpkin spice and coffee liqueur glaze worked well for a cozy, wintry meal - Braised pork shoulder: his choice; served with beans and cornbread, this was another hearty, comforting meal with a Southern twist. Desserts: - Winter creme brulee: this was my favorite, flavored with mulling spices, orange and pomegranate We also enjoyed a seasonal sorbet and the fall spice cake. We had the same server both nights, Elizabeth, who was good at making recommendations, and also staggering the small plates on our small table so we wouldn't be overloaded. Chef Sara was in house the second night, bringing dishes to tables. The setting is relaxed, not overly loud, with moody lighting. Overall, we would certainly return to Freight House!
