In October 2025, I had asked for a quotation for three wrought iron gate and fence repair items…read more Michael quoted an initial $80 to drive to Montebello to look at the projects. He quoted $344 to repair the gate that needed a center weld. Sent 1/2 first and 1/2 for the completing the repairs. 10/22/2025, 7:28 PM For the fence Michael texted me that he was not quite sure if he would be able to handle this side of the fence... For the smaller gate repair he texted me the following: This small gate I cant repair it. Its far beyond a repair. It needs a new door. Hinge repairs is usually what takes me 3 hours. Also, Victor the owner said i have to charge more. I was out there too long for just a gate repair. 10/23/2025, 10:46 AM The next morning I told Michael to hold off until I get a better idea on how to fix this gate. I have other repair people who claims that they can reattach the bolts into the brick anchors.... Michael S. replied that the gate It was being held up by some sort of a nail. And admitted that it might be possible to use the same holes 10/24/2025, 3:36 PM Hello, Micheal. Pls bring back the metal gate back to 297 Simmons Ave. Michael call me at 4:41 PM and advised that he would need $80 for the cancellation of the project and for bringing back the gate. 10/24/2025, 4:45 PM Michael S. Let me know once sent. Bank Alerts: Victor Salarzar has received the $80.00 you sent using Zelle... 10/24/2025, 4:45 PM Pls send me a pic when you have returned the gate... I have a handy man contractor that is able to do the repairs that I can trust. Good Kid Welding is a money grab scam. I would be very cautious in using them. He is choosing projects that are easy and can generate revenue right away. They would quote a complete re-make of the gate to make higher revenue, but could not help with the repairs to the fence, which take too long to make their quick buck. These guys are in it for themselves and not for the customer. Update: This is what the Vendor replied..(very professional...not!) and he is trying to scam me for $300 on Venmo today. Jan 24, 2026 Message from. Vendor You needed to demolish your brick wall any how, my repair was cheap and i overstayed because it was not easy. So im not sure what your cheap ass is complaining about. Michael Jan 24, 2026 5:28PM Text from VendorMichael (562) 284-0692. What the F**Ks the Matter? You cheap weird ass bastard... Lack of experience. Difficulty understanding him. He was willing to negotiate price for his fees.read more

This place is a staple in the neighborhood. I've used them for various custom metal work needs over…read morethe years and they always come through. I recently ordered an iron address sign but the vendor forgot to drill screw holes on it. I called West Coast Metalcrafts and the lady was very accommodating about taking care of it. I came in with no appointment on a random weekday and she had the techs put the holes in it in less than 15mins. I paid $10 and was very happily on my way! Great service! Will be back again.

I can not comment on the quality of work as our business relationship did not get to that stage…read more However, I can comment on the customer service, and, as others have pointed out, is terrible, but I think I might understand why. We needed a gate in our backyard. I had an appointment to have the gentleman come to our home to do a measurement. The appointment was scheduled at 12pm to 1pm to do the measurement. That day I realized I had an another appointment that would end at noon and was less than 10 minutes away. I called at 10:30am, spoke with a woman, and asked if it was ok to be about 10 minutes late. In addition, I informed her that I had contractors in my backyard working an another project. The gate was opened and if he arrived at 12pm he could start measuring and I would be a few minutes behind. She agreed and said that would be fine. I arrived at 12:10pm and rushed to the backyard only to discover that he had arrived and left AN HOUR prior (as told by my contractor). Confused, I called to ask if he could come back as I had some instructions and questions to discuss with him. I, again, spoke with the original woman who was already defensive claiming he waited for me for 45 minutes then left. I looked at the time, it was 12:25pm. I informed her if he had showed up at 12pm and waited 45min, he would still be here. It was at this point, she admitted he had showed up early to take the measurements. I then asked her why did he show up early. This question seemed to anger her and she said, "This project is off to a bad start so we are not going to bid on it." Riddle me this fellow reviewers, why would this gentleman show up early when he knows: 1. I am not home. 2. I am going to be late. 3. He has access to do the measurements without me there. I would argue the reason he did this is because he doesn't like people, doesn't like dealing with people, doesn't like talking to people. He is probably very good at his craft but would rather do it without having to deal with the customers. And that is why you are seeing lots of reviews about terrible customer service. Thankfully there are plenty of other iron workers with competitive pricing with good customer service. I ended up going to Go Iron Works in Long Beach and recommend them highly.
