As a working mom, sleep and getting a good night's rest is very important to me. Tiffany quickly got back to me, asked a few questions through phone call, and matched me with Julia, one of their sleep coaches. From the very first home visit, Julia was incredible--kind, empathetic, and so knowledgeable. She helped me recognize when my daughter was self-soothing and gave me practical things to try. We set goals like easing daycare naps, learning to self-soothe, and adjusting to her crib. Throughout the process, Julia was always there--quick to respond, thoughtful in her answers, and endlessly encouraging. She gave me confidence to trust my instincts as a mom, while also teaching me tools to help my baby build healthy sleep habits. Within a few weeks, we met all our goals. FTM | Casey and Charli are excellent My daughter is just short of 4 months old as I write this review. I'm a first time mother who really had no idea what to expect with the labor and delivery experience. Here are the main points of what we knew we wanted for our birthing experience: *delivery at Legacy Meridian Hospital *labor as long as I could without any pain medication *make use of resources to be comfortable (medicine/peanut ball, jacuzzi, massages, essential oils, dim lighting...etc) *doula for support No judgements. Compassion. We interviewed one other doula before choosing Casey and Charli. Without hesitation I knew I had to have this awesome team to support me. They are incredibly warm and friendly with tons of knowledge and experience with the whole process (pregnancy to postpartum). I felt completely comfortable upon meeting them. One of the biggest reasons why we chose them was because we were guaranteed to see one of them on the big day. Other doulas are so busy with other clients that they may send someone else from their company to support you on your big day, and that was something I didn't feel comfortable with. Casey and Charli didn't make me feel like I was just a number to add to their list of births. They always listened and asked questions. The process was easy and accommodating: first contacted via e-mail, set up the first meeting, establish a contract and deposit, set up another meeting, maintain 24/7 contact throughout pregnancy, go through labor and delivery, pay balance, and postpartum appointment. Birthing Stone offers a lot of great classes, so take advantage of these! Casey and Charli had excellent communication throughout and a great, well-organized system down to support me at any moment. I opted to have a doula-in-training to attend my delivery as well. My delivery exceeded my expectations! I had a fast delivery and ended up not using any of the resources available at the hospital. Charli and the doula-in-training were supportive and helped me to focus on breathing and relaxing during my labor. Charli made me feel like a super woman! She tied my hair back and not only worked with the medical team for me, but she made sure my husband was taken care of too. After my delivery, they checked up on me at home and helped me with any issues I had with breastfeeding. I like that they don't leave you hanging because there's SO much to this whole experience. A full night's rest. You have no idea how important that is until you don't have that anymore. When you have a baby, you fully expect to have some sleepless nights; that is just part of being a parent. What I didn't except, was to not have a full night's sleep in over a year. It was taking it's toll on my role as a wife and a mom. I wasn't the person I wanted to be because I was so tired and stressed all the time, because my sleep was lacking. We tired all types of books, doctor recommended websites, his pediatrician's advice, other parent's advice...we tried everything we could think of regarding how to get our little guy to sleep through the night. FINALLY....we discovered sleep coaches. FINALLY we found Tiffany and Birthing Stone Doula. Tiffany actually will come and spend up to 72 hours with you and your baby. She will observe and make notes and get your prepared for what to expect in the process of sleep training. I was a little nervous about having a house guest for 3 days (while not sleeping much) and making the necessary preparations for that. Let me tell you....she is easier than any person you will ever host. She's almost invisible! She is there to help and not cause stress and that's exactly what she does. So if you have reservations about her staying the night, don't. You will be so happy you decided to do it. Having someone there to ask questions or to hug when you start to cry because this is all a huge change, she is there for you. I never felt uncomfortable or hesitant to ask even the dumbest of questions or tell her how I was feeling, no matter how silly I felt. She felt like an old friend I could tell all my fears and hopes. She got us through the hardest parts of sleep training and celebrated our triumphs with us. It was an amazing experience. Our whole family is finally sleeping well and we are finally the happier family we all wanted to be, Sleep is so important and I never knew how it could impact us as much as it has and does. With the help of Rhiannon our 6 month old twins went from waking up every 2-3 hours to sleeping 12 hours a night! 12 HOURS with no crying on most nights!! Our bedtime routine (getting the babies to calm down and fall asleep) went from 30-60 minutes to 1 minute, and our entire family is healthier and happier. I was extremely resistant to sleep training our babies and Rhiannon was very patient and empathetic. Her expertise and reassurance was invaluable the first night and she was a delight to have as a guest in our home. Our babies trusted and adored Rhiannon right away, and our five year olds ask for her to come back and visit often!! My wife and I worked with Charli and Casey for the birth of our first baby. I was the one carrying the baby, and I'm not very crunchy granola, and I thought doulas were just for natural or home births, which we were not having. However we decided to hire a doula after taking a childbirth class at Legacy which taught us that having a doula cuts down on interventions (e.g. epidurals) and also results in parents being more satisfied with the birth experience afterward. We met with a number of doulas before choosing Charli and Casey. We hit it off with them immediately. I appreciated their sense of humor and down-to-earthness. They supported our decision to try to avoid an epidural but to also have it as an option. I ended up having to be induced 4 days after my due date since I was 40 years old at the time. The labor wound up going much much quicker than I anticipated. They started pitocin around 10:30am and our baby was born at 3:25pm. Charli was the doula who came to the hospital for the birth to help us through it. Honestly I was kind of on another planet due to pain, so I wasn't terribly aware of other people around me, and I found myself turning to my wife most for support during the labor. However, my wife said that having Charli there was priceless for her, to reassure her that certain gory things were normal, etc. I went through a number of pain relief measures, from rolling on a ball, to showering, to inhaling nitrous oxide. Eventually I asked for the epidural. However, I was so close to giving birth that it wouldn't have been a good idea to get it. In my other-worldly state, I didn't really comprehend this. It came down to a moment of me having to decide whether to pull the trigger on the epidural or not, and Charli was the one who made me believe I could finish the job with no epidural. I realized that I might still have like 2 hours of painful pushing ahead of me. But I opted against it, and our baby was born about 15 minutes later. In hindsight I am really happy with my choice to not get the epidural, as it may have actually slowed things down or just had no effect at that point. I credit Charli with helping me make the right choice in a tough moment. I also appreciate that she didn't pressure me one way or the other. After we brought our baby home, we had a lot of breastfeeding struggles and were losing our s&*t. Charli and Casey each came to our home on different days in our time of need to support us and just talk us down from a ledge. I found this stage of support to be the most helpful for me personally. Now our beautiful baby is 8 weeks old and things are getting easier. We are so happy we worked with Charli and Casey and we would highly recommend them to expecting parents! read more

Simply amazing. As a FTM, the team at Birthingstone doulas helped my husband and I approach our baby's birth with confidence. Tiffany truly impressed us during our initial conversation. I strongly recommend Birthing Stone Doula's for sleep training. I never planned to co-sleep, it was not right for me initially. I never planned to create a nursing to sleep association. So many things didn't go as planned. Bwahaha. At 3 months I fell with my son in my arms and fractured my back. He was fine, the doctor said I fell perfectly to protect him, but I was hurt. I could not lift him in and out of his bassinet to nurse, like I had done since I brought him home. As a result we started co-sleeping and he would nurse to sleep. This was AMAZING for several months. My son was a super content baby and didn't crawl or roll over much for a LONG time. Move forward to 15 months and he became a mover and shaker. Getting him to sleep took longer and he would wake up every hour from 7pm to 10 to nurse back to sleep. I was threadbare and exhausted. I was ready for a change. Five months earlier, when my son turned 1yr old, my mother's husband passed and she came to live with us. So the scenario: a baby that is harder to get to and harder to stay asleep, an exhausted single mother, and a grieving grandmother. I decided to sleep train on my own. The grieving grandma said she didn't like the CIO method but would be supportive. The first night of trying it alone was horrible! After 2 hours of my son crying, I was in tears and the grieving grandmother was texting saying no GOOD mother would let their child cry this long...then he fell asleep. After a few minutes, I opened the door to check on him. I woke him up and he started crying again and didn't stop till ... I don't remember it was so traumatizing. All the while, I was getting texts from grieving grandma that she didn't abandon her children to sit and cry, and that I was damaging my child. I knew I could sleep train or manage grieving grandma, but I couldn't do both. I also knew I wanted someone in my home, supporting me 100%. I called Tiffani at Birthing Stone. We talked for about 20 minutes or so about the challenges of night 1 and though it was HORRIBLE, there were some successes too. Immediately she gave me language that helped manage the grieving grandma. What I was currently doing was "not sustainable" and change is hard for adults and infants. She felt that my son could be trained in 2 nights, I hired her to come and stay with us for 4 nights. I told her that the biggest part of her job might be grandma. She was prepared! The first night she came I was a wreck, but she took the baby monitor and started taking notes. She started teaching me to look and listen for certain things. My anxiety level went from 125%OVERLOAD to 15% manageable and I slept in my bed, alone, boobs tucked away for 4 hours. Amazing! I learned some of my son's patterns, like when he stands up he has likely evacuated his bowels. Really valuable information. I also loved that I didn't have to be a host. Birthing Stone made it clear that the sleep consultant was there to guide me, they are not my guest and I do not need to play hostess to them. They can get their own water, order food and have it delivered to my house, and address all their own needs. After the 4 days of sleep training my son slept through the night in his crib, was napping in his crib, and for the most part self-weaned (nursing maybe once or twice a day). After a night or two of me getting 8 hours of sleep I actually started meditating and exercising again. I started to feel like me again. It was an incredible gift. It was expensive, but in hindsight SOOOO worth every penny! I cannot thank Birthing Stone and Tiffani Decker enough. read more

This review is LONG overdue as we had our son 8 months ago! Oops. We worked with Claire and Ami to bring our son into this world. From the moment we signed on with them, they were so helpful and really made us feel at ease with the upcoming birth of our first child. We had no idea what to expect so they made sure that we had all of the tools that we needed for the big day. When our son finally decided to meet us four days late, we were blessed to have Claire join us for that moment. She kept me calm and informed, comforted Dad in the scary moments and gave him breaks when needed. As a first time father to-be I was nervous and overwhelmed to say the least. A close friend suggested we work with a doula and our OBGYN suggested the same. Looking back, it was the absolute smartest decision we made in the nine months of preparing for the birth of our daughter. Tiffany Decker is exactly what you hope for in a doula. She is professional, caring, compassionate, supportive, and knowledgeable and we are happy to say that she is now a part of our family. When Tiffany visited us at home she listened to our concerns, answered all of our questions, and left us with a wealth of resources for further research. As the due date approached Tiffany helped us prepare our birth plan and presented all the possible situations we might face like natural birth, epidural, induction, and cesarean. Most importantly, she gave us the confidence that we could do this no matter what happened. Once labor started, Tiffany was by our side throughout the ENTIRE labor and delivery which lasted over 36 hours! It was so difficult to watch my wife be in pain but it was amazing to see Tiffany in action! Her knowledge of technique to cope with the labor pain was incredible. It was during these difficult hours I was so glad we had a doula, and blessed we had one as awesome as Tiffany! As the labor progressed we were faced with many difficult decisions we didn't account for in our birth plan, specifically having to have a cesarean. Tiffany excelled again in this the face of difficult decisions. She was included in all of our conversations with the OBGYN and navigated the hospital environment and operating room effortlessly. She was by our side during the delivery and gave both of us support while also photographing the birth story of our daughter. In short, Tiffany gave us confidence in ourselves, provided balanced insight, and supported our every decision and she was especially supportive of my needs and concerns as the father to be. Having a doula for the birth of our son was the best decision we made; we had the privilege of working with Tiffany. Through her support, I have a powerful birth story that I'm proud of. The support and care she provided during our prenatal visits and throughout labor gave me the confidence that my body could do what it needed to, in the way that I wanted. As we got to know each other, she was able to learn how best to work with both me and my husband, who is equally (if not more) grateful for her presence. Tiffany is a true support person. I can't thank Tiffany and her team of baby whispering doulas enough. These doulas know just what to do-bring tea or snacks after nursing, change and soothe baby, tidy up, help problem solve strategies for our older child, and share their mad skills/coach my husband while I take a snooze. Sounds amazing, right?! If you are struggling with the transition back to work, I highly recommend them. They helped my transition back to a demanding professional job go smoothly. It felt so good to know my baby was with someone that I trust. I was able to go to work refreshed as the result of their overnight care. Tiffany was a dream come true...literally. We were struggling with a baby that struggled to sleep, couldn't put herself asleep to save her life and suffered from acid reflux. Tiffany was incredibly supportive. We had her come for 72 hours because we felt like we really needed it, and we did, but when she left our baby was putting herself to sleep, sleeping many more hours a day than ever before and was well on her way to sleeping through the night. That was over a month ago. Our baby only continued to become a better sleeper and Tiffany also made me feel as though she was there to support me when needed. We decided to hire a sleep coach as I was struggling with postpartum anxiety and depression, and sleep was a trigger for me. I liked the idea of having someone in our home, with us in the moment, instead of just available by phone or email. Donna from Birthing Stone was great! She was down to earth, approachable and we felt completely comfortable with her camped out on our couch all night (when does this woman sleep???) Although upon first glance the cost seems prohibitive, it was worth it for our family. We went from having our 4-month old need to be rocked and bounced to sleep for lengthy amounts of time to where we are today, with a 5 month old that we put down awake in his crib and he falls asleep. It has been life changing for us, we now have time to ourselves in the evening and improved sleep for everyone in the house. Tiffany came to us when our baby was 8 months old. After his first round of teething and some travel, we lost all sense of routine and good sleep habits and we were losing our minds with sleep deprivation. Tiffany stayed with us for the full three days and guided us back to sanity with her gentle, firm, and very informative style of communication and teaching. She was comforting and clear with her directions and suggestions. We loved having her at our house for full time support and then appreciated the follow up calls and emails. It's been over a month now since she left and our baby sleeps through the night with two naps a day. When disruptions happen due to travel, sickness, or just mystery baby stuff, we feel confident using what we learned form Tiffany to respond and adjust as needed until things regulate again. I was initially reluctant to hire a doula, but since I was trying for a VBAC we made the decision to hire Megan. Megan was everything we hoped and more. She took the time to listen to what we wanted and helped us to see things clearly. When I went into labor she came right away and helped me through some rough spots. (It's labor, what about it isn't rough??) She was there for the birth of my daughter and even though I didn't have a VBAC, she was supportive and stayed with me the whole surgery just talking to me and updating me on the progress of the birth. After we came home Megan checked up on us and brought us our placenta pills. Tiffany, a postpartum doula, came a few weeks after my daughter was born, so I could have some much needed one on one time with my son. I could not have had a more perfect experience with Megan and Tiffany, I was given the utmost care and respect and I will forever remember how much they impacted my life. read more

They were very different but both wonderful with the knowledge, experience and encouragement they brought to our meetings leading up to the birth. Casey ended up being on call when my son was born and she was so fantastic and such an important part of the experience. We really cannot imagine what we would've done without her. Casey was so calm and supportive and knew exactly when to push me a little more and when to just comfort me. She was also amazing support to my husband. She gave him the opportunity to take breaks and let him know everything was going as planned etc. This was huge for both of us and something he definitely did not expect needing. My doctor and the nurses all complimented her following the birth. If you are on the fence on whether or not to have a doula, without a doubt you won't be sorry! read more

Absolutely invaluable. I write this from the hospital room in a moment of peace between intense moments, after a long night of labor. Having Claire from Birthing Stone here is one of the best decisions we made. From the perspective of the partner, and this being our first, it's so fantastic to have someone here the whole time who's been through the birthing experience and can help me support my partner as she labors. I was sure about hiring a doula from the outset, as I have my own set of medical issues that prevent me from being present the entire time. Peaceful, calm, intuitive and respectful. When we were discussing the merits of having a birth doula for our 3rd birth, my hubby wasn't convinced it was a necessity. The first 2 had been easy, medicated, standard hospital births: quick, predictable, and manageable. But I wanted to have a natural, drug-free birth for this last baby, and that was unchartered territory for both hubby and I. Tiffany easily surpassed our expectations in her intuitive skills, ability to listen and correctly assess our needs, and support us with every step in the pregnancy. As pregnancy progressed, she provided assistance with readiness, utilizing a variety of yoga-like poses that would enable baby to be in the right position in the birth canal. She was accessible whenever I had a worry, provided a fantastic support for hubby & I as labor approached, and never once felt awkward or forced in our discussions. It felt like we had an immediate connection; that my innermost desires for this labor and delivery were explicitly understood. When labor hit, she gave good sound advice, asked helpful questions to ensure we knew everything we could, and arrived at our house to assist with the laboring until we were ready to head to St V's. She is so serene! She knew just what to say, how to say it, and had a natural rhythm and timing to step into the birth-dance competently and flawlessly. She worked well with the staff at St V's, was never in the way, never made me feel embarrassed to be naked/indecent, knew where things were and made them magically appear (it seemed!), and was simply lovely from beginning to end. Having a natural labor for the first time, after 2 very easy pain-free prior births, was a BIG step out of my comfort zone, and when I needed that encouragement to get to thru a tough contraction, or to transition into the next phase, she was there. My hubby and i have repeatedly remarked to each other, even 5 mo postpartum, that we couldn't have had the fabulous, awesome, successful, exhilarating, peaceful birth that we had, without her capable assistance. I can confidently recommend her to anyone considering a doula and know that she'll be a fantastic addition to the birth team. read more
