Stopped in while I was waiting for my car in the shop down the road. I was pleasantly surprised! The interior is casual, comfortable, and expansive. I went with the grilled cheese and tomato soup which was great. A good classic that was done well. I also got a seasonal latte that was chefs kiss ‍ I will be back to try the baked goods and bread, of course.

Chicken pesto , Gouda , and tomato pizza slice and berry green salad (I think ). So good

Why do I not come here more?! I always ask myself this everytime I leave BB!! It's great! My recent visit was quite enjoyable. I had their pizza lunch special $9 for two slices of yummy pizza. I loooooved the sloss furnace sausage so bad! It has conecuh sausage on it and it was fantastic! I also had a veggie slice, it was fine but me & my tastebuds enjoyed sloss furnace sausage best. Goodness! I had water to drink and eventually a latte since I stuck around to do a little work. They also have a few wines and beers to enjoy. The back section I was sitting in was a little cold but the main seating area is really warm & comfortable. I do wish they had more electrical plugs in the main seating area for those that are working on a laptop. Parking during the week WILL be a problem. Just telling you! I eventually found a free 2 hour spot. Be patient if plan to visit during the week but it's definitely worth circling the block a few times.

Pizza pie for the win today! Margherita is unbelievably delicious with huge slices of tomato, flavorful sauce, just the right amount of cheese and basil. Fancy pork belly with pineapple pizza was also tasty (but I mainly eat veggies). They took my order right away and brought it out quickly. It was nice and quiet and cool. Soft music playing. OH. AND. They now accept GLASS recycling!

Stopped by here with some friends for some Lunch. What a treat!! I usually stop by and grab breads, but their lunch is worth grabbing. Their sandwiches and pizzas are delish!! They usually have different pizzas each day. So check their website menu to check the specials. My phone died and I couldn't grab a menu pic. My favorite is the pesto chicken pizza. I also love the Alabama Bird sandwich. Additionally, they have good tomato soup and grilled cheese. They also serve breakfast and their pepper Parmesan bread is always a hit. Don't sleep on the pastries and the cappuccinos, as they are both great! Stop there for a nice treat. You won't be disappointed.

The menu and board including sides

We have been several times in the past and it was a good place Today the Manager tried to charge us for the sides that were clearly included in the menu and in the board. It was not any sign or indication in contrary. He did not wanted to honor the sign.

Great options with sweet and savory, tasted fantastic, coffee was good also! Man at the counter was friendly.

I see many local restaurants and coffee shops carry bread and other baked goods from bhm Breadworks but I'd never been to their actual establishment. It's spacious with ample indoor and outdoor seating, although parking can sometimes pose an annoyance. I was actually surprised by the limited number of fresh baked goods they had available--only about 5 or 6 choices, but maybe that's because I envisioned a spread. They did have the same number of loaves to purchase and I went around lunchtime so maybe many of the items were already gone. I opted to have lunch, so I ordered the Ham and Gruyere sandwich (added onions of course) and switched the popcorn for the tomato soup. The sandwich was delicious and they don't skim on the meat. The sourdough bread was toasted and had a great combination of crunch with softness. I was let down by the soup. Quite bland. I also thought that the tables could use some cleaning, perhaps a once over. If I'm in the area, I would definitely stop by again although I probably wouldn't go out of my way. I'll just stick to buying their baked goods from other businesses that are closer.

Driving through town on a road trip, wanting a tasty breakfast before leaving town. I am so glad I stopped in! Parking was easy in the street out front at 8:30am on this Thursday morning. The rower had several tables inside for dining or work (WiFi was available). Outside seating was available out back as well. The menu online matched the menu on store if you like to plan ahead. The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable about the pastries and flavors! Per their recommendation I got an almond croissant and cheese danish with fresh strawberry jam on top. I also ordered a lavender honey latte and a loaf of sourdough to go. The latte paired with the pastries was exactly the treat I needed! It was savory and sweet and just the right amount of food to fill me up and then some. I will be using the sourdough in the next few days and am looking forward to sandwiches and dippy bread!

You really can't beat Bham Breadworks for breakfast or lunch! The best pastries, great coffee, and delicious pizza. There's a meat pizza and veggie pizza available that changes daily. The pizza dough is just the right amount of crispy, crunchy perfection. Food is also well-priced compared to other local options. Great place all-around!

Great clean food. Plus a meat pizza option for my boys. (8 & 11) Old school Cokes. Best homemade chocolate chip cookie around!

The Garage kicks ass. Tons of history, extremely dope vibe, great service, solid sandwiches/soup…read more If you get the chance go check out this historical gem tucked away in Birmingham. Voted one of the top bars to travel to in multiple magazines. The owner basically built a bar around his workshop. The middle looks way better during the summer, but a must visit if in the area.

We had a lovely lunch at the Garage!…read more Their sandwiches are fresh and made to order. It's very straight forward and you choose all of your own toppings. Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

While none of them have tasted quite as good since then (something about working up an appetite on the beach?), we still really enjoy a rare opportunity to eat at one. I knew we would be ready for lunch after a morning at a local museum, so I had researched possible venues earlier that morning. I showed my wife a short list and she immediately gravitated to Roly Poly. That would have been my first choice too. This one (the last one remaining in Birmingham, apparently) is in the Homewood neighborhood / area. It is located on a busy street with shops and plazas lining both sides. These look like they were built no later than 1950 but have evolved and been renovated as new tenants cycled through. We did angled parking on the street out front, but there may be better / easier parking on surrounding side streets. The only issue we had was backing out into traffic when we left; it took a few minutes for a gap. You enter and order at the counter. They have menus available there for you to check out. They have a rack of chips available, plus maybe other sides? I didn't look beyond the chips. You then sit down and wait for your order. I guess they have call-ahead too. Seating is along the wall to the right as you enter. There is a long bench the length of the wall with separate 4-person tables spaced along it, with 2 additional chairs each. Our order seemed to take a while, but it may have just been what we ordered (hot sandwich) versus other simpler orders getting filled faster. I got the French Twist, which is my favorite. I only got a regular and not a large, but I think I could have finished a large. My wife got something else, chicken-based I think. We both enjoyed this a lot. If I lived in the area, I'd probably stop in here semi-regularly.

Service was quick and they brought the food to us at our table after we ordered at the counter. Only gave 4 stars because it's a tad pricey for what you get. Restaurant itself feels like a sandwich shop which I personally prefer for a good lunch spot. It also has some outdoor seating which looked nice.

Fresh, handmade and not overly greasy. The sauce was not too overwhelming and paired well. This was easy to digest and honestly I could have sat there and ate two. I really wish they had fries to pair with it. Chips only. For 3 sandwiches and 2 small drinks, our total was $25.08 with $1 tip. Fast service! My burger was made before I paid with the person at the counter as she was trying to get a togo order together. Parking is overall fairly easy. This is a good solid choice for lunch/ dinner. We then looked for another place and finally found this place. Sometimes things just work out for what's best. The smell of good burgers were smelt before we opened the door. We added the sweet tea and everything was pleasing to the tastebuds. The cooks and checkout clerks were friendly held welcoming conversations. When over this way I plan on returning. Again, everything was really good.
