This must be one of the few places like this left in Britain this unique and unspoilt pub combining the village shop is located by the river in the village of Beckhole.
The bar is about 3 foot long and if 5 people stood in there you would feel like a sardine. Fortunately there is another room at other side of the shop if the weather is unpleasant where your beer is served through the hatch in the wall.
There is a beer garden which has ample seating, they offer their own brew as well as Black Sheep Bitter.
This is a lovely spot to stop off if you are thinking of wandering from Grosmont to Goathland about a 4 mile walk the North Yorkshire Moors Railway stops and picks up at both stations.
They offer sandwiches and pies so if you're hungry a snack is also an option. read more
