A quiet locale with a decent chicken curry and quite delicious tomato cream soup, Jebens is a place I will return to if I am ever back in the neighborhood. This place is a nice change from the artfully decrepit cafés in P-Berg and more comfortable than the minimalist cafes in Mitte. Too bad it's all the way in Dahlem.

The decor hasn't changed in years: there's a main room downstairs (with a semi-private "glass box" for a private meeting), more seating upstairs when they are busy. May people prefer to sit outside and people watch, though. On our last visit we met friends there for coffee and cake. as ever, the cakes were great (and though they're over €5, portions are generous). Staff were happy to let us linger, which is just as well because it was very busy, and service was a little slow, but friendly enough. But we're still happy to go back!

It's quite stylish inside with a bit of bohemian art thrown in for good measure. It's quite young and trendy but don't let that put you off - the food is ace. I've enjoyed several things here, from scrambled eggs and bacon on toast to yoghurt, muesli and fruit. It's always beautifully presented and great value for money.

Gibt es doch hier meiner Meinung nach den leckersten Kuchen und die mit Abstand beste Torte. Warum schreibe ich unser Waldcafé? Nicht dass noch jemand glaubt, es würde mir gehören nö, leider nicht. Allerdings bereue ich ein wenig, dass ich seinerzeit, das ist jetzt vielleicht ein bis zwei Jahre her, die darüberliegende Wohnung nicht gemietet habe. Sie wäre ausreichend groß gewesen, hat eine superschöne und große Terrasse und wirklich teuer war sich auch nicht. Der Mehrwert an der Wohnung wäre natürlich gewesen, dass ich nicht mehr extra hätte raus fahren müssen nach Kleinmachnow, um das leckere Gebäck zu genießen. Da fällt mir ein, letztens habe ich einen mobilen Stand gesehen, wo man die Backwaren bekommen kann, ohne extra raus fahren zu müssen. Ich denke, nicht nur Berlin, ist eine (kleine) Reise wert!

The bakery is very warm and welcoming, definitely has the feel of a small country bakery with much more to offer than your typical bakery. The selection is absolutely wonderful, they had many pastries for me to choose from and the presentation of the fresh baked goods scream quality. I was also very impressed to see no flying insects swarming the good as I have seen in other bakeries down the street. I received my pastries and coffee, everything was fresh and delicious. The staff are warm and welcoming, the prices are a bit higher than other bakeries but based on the quality I feel the price point was spot on.
