Normally I love this location- everyone is super helpful and always asking for help But this evening, I have never had such a rude cashier. This white looking Irish guy cashier needs to get laid for something. My sister and I were joking around trying to both pay for the bill. Apparently because we both put out phones next to the reader, it wasn't working. Instead of being a kind customer service worker, which mind you the store was completely empty, he gets all pissy and mansplains to us that we can't both be doing that. It's absolutely fine to tell us that, but there is a way of saying it to customers. The amount of disrespect this man showed us was not okay. You could tell the other female customers were getting very uncomfortable with how he was speaking down to us. read more

One cashier open with four customers waiting (one customer had a full cart with various items) therefore I asked one of the four employees (including management) chatting amongst themselves at a checkout lane 6 feet over if someone could open another lane and without barely pausing their jovial (non business) conversation one employee (not management) turned my way briefly enough to respond "no"! The cashier was very rude and seemed like she didn't want to work. When I was buying wine, the cashier didn't ask for my loyalty points number and just rang up the sale. So, I told her that I have a phone number with Binny's, and she lied, saying that I could only get discounts on sale items. But I know that wine purchases also earn points. She had already processed the transaction, so I think she was hesitant to redo everything for the point accumulation. I felt so bad and I will never go back to this location. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service!!! I went today to pick up my Goose Island Bourbon County Stout allocation. I go to a register, and the cashier does not greet me or acknowledge me at all. I tell her what I'm there for after waiting about a minute to see if she will say anything to me. After I tell her what I'm there for, She rolls her eyes and walks away to get someone else. Not once did she say a single word to me. Binnys- hire people that actually have customer service skills. Because the person at your register today was absolutely terrible and needs training on how to interact with the public. read more

The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because sometimes the staff is not to enthusiastic about doing their job, and the experience is not complete pleasant. however, they have been doing better. read more

First, this place was a Walgreens so there is plenty of parking space, once inside the place is open and organized for different bottles. You can buy wine, champagne, beer, cognac tequila and more. They also have a cigar section and also chilled bottles. I was at the store for a few minutes and someone did say hello, to show that they were there to help. I got what I wanted and the register was open and it was an easy transaction. Overall it was a good experience. read more

Ahoy, my noble bourbon boozers, our prayers have been answered. No longer are we condemned to travel into Lincoln Park to get our elixir of life, wailing and gnashing our teeth as we traverse Cortland or (god forbid) North Avenue to Marcy Street. Now, we can saunter down Diversey or Pulaski and pick up a bottle of bourbon or rye with nary a hassle. Huzzah! The store, a former Walgreen's, is smaller than most Binny's, but the bourbon, rye, and vermouth selection is comparable to the larger stores, and the holiday sales were solid. There are a few wine tastings on the weekends, and the wine selection is decent. If you can't find the wine you are looking for here, or need some cheese & charcuterie, head over to Cermak Fresh Market across Pulaski. They have an excellent selection of wine, cheese, and charcuterie, much to my pleasant surprise. read more

The worst customer Service. I went in there on my way to work. I asked if they had any allocations. I was trying to get something good for fathers day. The Manager sends me to the wine center and employee first name starts with A meets me there. Asked me what I am looking for and I reply I was really looking for a Stagg. I also asked about tequila Fortaleza if they put on shelf or keep in back when it's in stock. He just looks at me and ask if I came last week to ask about it. I said no I came looking for bourbon. He then ask me for my rewards so I give him my number to look up and says that he sees that I shop another binnys more....I'm like yeah live by there but stopped by hhere.he never tells me if they have any stagg or not but that I should go to the binnys I live closer to and talk with those guys because they'll help me get what i want...and he walked away. I didn't know thats how Binny's worked that you can only buy from 1. He could if just told me they dont have it and have a nice day. But looking up where i buy to tell me to stick to that store instead is really f'd up. read more

Super rude service. I said hello, then how's your day, then hey how are you today? Nothing. Couldn't even get her to say hello to me. The 1st thing she said was you can type in your phone number followed by a total. She looked I'm down the whole time. Didn't even say goodbye. I stopped before leaving and said, wow, can't even say thanks. She snapped back. "I said have a good day, sir!". No girl, you didn't. Rude as shit. I don't expect this from bennys. This has the be the trashiest one I've been to. Out of like all the cold beer & not even one person said hello to me. As many in the area know, this was Walgreens. I am actually glad a Binny's was placed here. For me it is a about a 15 min bus ride (depending on the driver and traffic). Great location, the store capacity is spot especially for the products in stock. Well organized store, from the wines, liquors, the hard stuff, beer selection is spot on, along with gift sets and accessories for the bar and more. The prices are awesome. I am officially a Binnys member. Great staff also, very helpful and polite. I will be back soon. Thank you Binny's. read more

It is absolutely insane to complain that this location is not large enough. The Binny's on Diversey is absolutely huge, how much larger does it have to be to impress you? You could land an airplane inside of this particular Binny's. I agree that if you were able to land two airplanes inside of this location it would be really impressive, but I have to admit, Im impressed by just the one. This Binny's is a perfect place to stock up your bar. We stocked up at Binny's in preparation for the NYEpocalypse. They have a great selection of larger handled middle shelf boozes at good prices. Being the size of a small airport, this location has everything I could ever imagine needing. In fact they have way more that I could ever imagine needing. I guess if you are the type of person that needs a water tower sized container of vodka, this isn't the place, but if a bottle with a handle will do it, go here. read more

Every time I pull up into the driveway of this location or pass by, I laugh a little because how much it still looks like a Walgreens. Despite the fact it still has the Walgreens exterior, the inside looks more like a Binny's. If you are used to huge Binny's locations like the one in Lincoln Park or the South Loop, then this one will be quite a change from what you are used to. Despite the fact that this location is more on the compact size, you still can find quite a bit of the alcohol options that you would find at most Binny's locations. I'm really surprised how many different options they fit into this small Binny's without it feeling cramped. The store is clean, and there is a parking lot next to the building. It's not as ginormous as the Lincoln Park location - so there isn't as vast an array of wines and specials to choose from, but it gets the job done. I wish they offered more description tags/ratings on the wines. The store is kept clean, well organized and well stocked. It gets busy on weekends and they'll typically have vendors doing tastings so you can sample their wares. Yes! A decent liquor store in my neighborhood! I don't even drink that often (anymore), but when I do, my tastes are pretty limited to fancy ciders and mezcal (or tequila if I can't find a decent mezcal). Trying to get a decent mezcal after my stash from Oaxaca runs out (and without selling a kidney) is challenging, but I stopped by today to peruse the selection. The tequila section is more vast, but there are a few mezcal options better than Monte Alban (nope) but less expensive than Del Maguey. And, they have Los Amantes! The neighborhood liquor joints also have precariously little in the way of ciders beyond the sickeningly sweet cheapos, so I was pleased to see plenty of options in that section. AND single bottles! Sometimes you just want one. At any rate, store was clean, bright and well-stocked. I felt like a first rate alcoholic, as the customer to employee ratio was approximately 1:10 (me being the sole liquor-buyer...) but then again, it was 2:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday (don't judge, this was merely a pit-stop errand on my way home.) Hopefully the addition of Binny's will hasten the arrival of news restaurants, bars and retail! We need some fresh blood in this neck of the woods. read more

This Binny's opened in what used to a Walgreens. It is steps from the Diversey and Pulaski buses. While the store is smaller than some other Binny's, they manage to pack a range of items in there. The staff is very nice. It's worth taking the bus there and back because of the money I save compared to my neighborhood liquor stores. read more

Went in with my wife and her sister and nephew was looking to purchase some wine for a family gathering. I was carded and also my wife but was not able to purchase my wine because of my sister in law (minor) and nephew (minor) they refuse to sell me the wine and was told that I should leave the minors in the car next time keep in mind my wife was looking for some new wine I would never leave a minor in a car. read more

Absolutely thrilled there's a Binny's we can walk to! The location is great, lots of parking, across the street from grocery store so you can grab a drink for your dinner and amazing selection! It's a massive Binny's for city and was an extensive drink collection. Their keg list is always top notch and we love picking up kegs and browsing their selection for our kegerator. This was my second visit to this Binny's location. I was not impressed with the customer service the first time, but on this visit, it was non-existent. I wasn't looking for anything exotic or out of the ordinary, but I could not find what I was looking for. The sad part is, I couldn't find anyone to ask for help either (by the way, the store was not at all busy; had that been the case, I would have just waited until someone had a free minute for me.) I knew that Walgreen's had what I was looking for because I had seen it there earlier in the week, but had decided to use my "preferred customer" card at Binny's instead. But, since I couldn't find what I was looking for at Binny's (I had purchased this product at Binny's before) and no one seemed interested in helping me, I went back to Walgreen's and made my purchase. I shop at a variety of Binny's throughout the Chicagoland area for years, however, since stopping at the Binny's in Avondale about 6 months ago I see no reason to shop at any other location again. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, the store is always spotless, and the selections they have there are amazing. When you walk in the doors of this store you can just feel the good vibes running through the place. The General Manager Mike is fantastic. His knowledge of beer, wine, and the suggestions he makes are always the best. His is extremely helpful, friendly, and patient. What's more impressive to me, is the fact that not only the manager, but the staff remembers who I am when I walk in the door, and whether it was a manager or employee that helped me on my last trip and I tried something new based on their recommendation, THEY remember what I bought and ask me what I thought of what ever item I bought on my last trip. This Binny's is not close to where I live in the city, in fact there are 5 Binny's closer to me, but I will drive the extra 15 minutes every time just to go to this store. read more
