After a long discussion with the owner about this problem we came to an agreement he was understanding and very respectful

I was making a house call on a client who's bad fortune had led him to be a resident there while he got his life back together. He hadn't been returning my calls, texts, nor letters. I was worried that maybe something had happened, and that his case might be dismissed for failure to prosecute his claim. Yet, as soon as I entered the lobby of the residence hall, there he was. He saw me before I saw him, and he shouted out my name because of his surprise at seeing me. Turns out, he was okay. He just was not in the habit of interacting with lawyers; even his own. Experience had not been a kind teacher. He was so excited that he shook my hand at least four times to thank me for caring enough to come looking for him. He looked well. Clear eyes. Strong speech. Firm grip. He said he would be more responsible and responsive from now on. Glad of that. I was impressed with the way Salvation Army had righted his ship. He was working in the store and on the donations truck to pay for his room and board. The men around him seemed respectful and conscientious. They offered to help me contact him whenever I called in the future. They all appeared to work well together. Most importantly, there was a feeling of deep caring and love among them. The organization began in 19th Century England, with the notion that salvation came only through seeking forgiveness and good deeds. This evangelical cause began as a Christian mission known as the Soldiers of Christ, the Hallelujah Army, and finally, the Salvation Army. There was no church. Only the house where they lived, and the work they did, bound them together. It found its way to the United States in 1879, with first headquarters in Philadelphia. So good to see first hand that this historic charitable institution performs it mission so well.
