For the most part, they're really similar and our meal here definitely hit the spot. But I felt like the quality of the pork wasn't as great, which was disappointing to me because that's always my favorite part of getting pho. It was easy to get a table on a Saturday night, plenty of parking in the lot and the service was good. And it was great to be able to eat pho inside a restaurant again! I'm not a big pho fan, but this was a pleasant experience. The summer rolls were refreshing and the dipping sauces complimented them very well. I ordered #19 and there was a good portion of meat. The pork itself was a little tough but the sauce made up for the texture. The bowl is very large so unless you inhale it, the broth will not be hot after some time. Getting something other than Pho at a Vietnamese restaurant is a mistake. At least I learned from my mistake. My friend really wanted Pho and I was not in the mood so I got the lunch sautéed chicken and broccoli with fried rice and it was OK. Not bad but nothing spectacular, a little bland and the fried rice was very oily. My friend also tried a lunch special, the Chicken Sate and it tasted nothing like the normal peanut Satay we were thinking of- mostly bland and oily as well. The chicken Pho on the other hand was delicious and came with extra vegetables like broccoli which I love! The pork spring rolls were also yummy just a little pricey for how small the portion was. 3.5/5 but can't quite give it a 4. Located in a packed little shopping area that can be easily missed. The interior is nice and clean, a little tight. Your meal begins with house tea which is actually brewed very well. Strange that they don't actually give you water though, would have to ask for it. Lets get to the menu options/food. The vegetarian options are quite lacking, basically no pho options that I saw. Actually didn't see any thai staples at all, let along vegetarian ones - no pad thai, no flat noodle options, no curry... unsure why its labeled as a thai spot. Ended up getting onions/mushrooms/tofu which was fine - large portion, cooked fine - didn't blow me away flavor wise from the tofu perspective but it was okay. Also got the fried noodles with mixed vegetables which I'd describe the same way. Two mishaps occurred during our lunch. First they brought out a chicken dish when my friend ordered pork chops - and insisted that he did order chicken rather than just owning up to it and accepting their mistake. My go to Pho place quick and easy. It's pho real the best value for pho @around $13.50 after tax. A quart or broth, box of noods and choice of meat (very skimp) along with a bag of all the pho fixings. Very flavorful and authentic. My family and I have been coming here for over a decade. We have traveled all over NJ in search of good Vietnamese restaurants but this is, BY FAR, the best one. The food is authentic, consistently tasty, and the owner is detail oriented and focused and quality. From spring and summer rolls, pho, vegetarian items, bún bò Huế, grilled pork or chicken with rice or rice vermicelli, fried flounder, it really doesn't matter what we order. It is always so good! It was my first time here because I usually go to the one in Bloomfield. I gave it a shot and it was very mediocre. Came here on a Sunday shorty before noon. The place was not that busy just about three other tables. We were quickly seated on this very cold day. They do not have a screen so sitting near the door will get you chilly quickly. Don't know if they did not receive delivery recently, but when we tried to order certain items they said they ran out. What kind of restaurant run out of items? It wasn't exotic items anyway, they ran out of the pho beef ball soup. Next, I tried to order the Vietnamese crepes and they did not have either. I settled for the rice with grilled pork slices and egg patty. My wife and kids ordered the pho soup which came out first but my dish took extra time to come out. They were almost halfway done before I got my food. When it finally came it was luke warm and the cucumber and tomatoes were not that fresh at all. I was hungry since I did not eat breakfast so down it went. Was not the best experience but might give them another shot in the future. Hopefully, it will be a better one than this today. read more

This is our favorite pho place so far in NJ. Usually get the extra large bowl, which is quite substantial, and comes with a generous amount of beef. Beef is tasty as is the broth. At around $10, price is very reasonable by local standards. Vietnamese coffee ($3.5) is also tasty... I'd put it on par with our places, but I think the price is a bit lower here. So I'm happy. We've only been at lunchtime, and the place is big enough that we have never had to wait. Ample parking too. read more

Never had Vietnamese food in Jersey before. My friend and I actually stumbled upon this. And since then I've been to this place again. Both times were on week nights, the place was busy but wasn't crowded. We were seated promptly and service was great. For drinks: -Vietnamese ice coffee is strong and pretty on point here For appetizers, we ordered: -Crispy Egg rolls (Cha Gio): crispy rolls with tasty pork filling complements well with fish sauce. For main courses, we got: -Pho with Meatballs: add on sliced rare beef which makes it A-mazing. The meats were juicy and fresh and the broth was quite tasty. -Shaken Beef (Bo Luc Lac): garlic goodness and tenderized beef, pretty good and almost as good as dishes I've tried in California. -Crispy Fried Crepe (Banh Xeo): pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts served with mint and lettuce dipped in fish sauce. This was eh, kind of a disappoint. The dish was bland and the crepe was soggy and not crispy how I like it. This review was mainly for the Vietnamese food. I haven't tried any of their Thai food but my friends said that the Pad Thai is pretty good here. Overall, I had a good experience here. Had dinner here on a Sunday night. The restaurant was almost full with customers it was around 6pm. We were seated right away to our table, menu was provided and they gave us enough time to pick our choices. We choose the 8 piece spring rolls as appetizer, it is made of veggies and chicken on a crispy fried wrapper served with a plate of lettuce and sauce. We also ordered the fried mix seafood combo- fried shrimp, squid and fish fillet served in a bed of lettuce and sweet and sour sauce. The grilled lemongrass pork was one of the highlights of the meal- it is thinly sliced pork seasoned with sweet soy sauce with a hint of lemongrass- great paired with a bowl of steamed white rice. We also ordered a large breakfast bowl of well done sliced beef pho- it comes in this humongous bowl with lots of sliced beef, thin noodles and hot flavorful broth and served with a plate of mint leaves , jalapeño slices and mongo sprouts. The food was served quick, it was really flavorful, fresh and delicious. Don't expect though a fancy restaurant vibe, no waiters wearing uniform as such , I believed the staff are part of the family that it's like eating with homelike environment. I've been to the BD#1 in Bloomfield, NJ. I tried coming here with a couple co-workers who are not familiar with Viet food. I was excited that I would be poppin cherries. We arrived at noon on a last Thursday for lunch but the door was locked. We even snuck out of work at 11:45am to get there by noon too! We checked the hour and it said they are open at 11am. I even called but no answer! I did the peek inside and the kitchen light were open. We were desperate for pho because that polar vortex was here. But, we didn't go too far. We were gonna go to the back door and do the poop bag thing or the egg thing but I get happy writing reviews now. I would definitely call ahead to make sure they are open. If they are open. It is a very cold day so I was totally in the mood for pho noodle soup. I yelped for a good Vietnamese restaurant and saw the positive reviews so I took the chance. Let me say that I arrived here with my family at 11:45am on Sunday, Valentine's Day. We were the 1st customers and were quickly seated. Then, the waiter came back to serve the other table first, which is very wrong but I said whatever, (his service will be evaluated and reflected on his tip). We waited for ten minutes and was ready to leave until his coworker took our order. For starters, we wanted to order banh cun cha lua, but they said they can't make it because their kitchen isn't stocked with the ingredients. Next, I wanted to order for my son the pho beef ball soup, but they said they don't have beef ball so they can't make it. Ok, really? It's the weekend and Valentine's Day and you should know if you're going to have the restaurant open for business that your kitchen should be fully stocked! Anyway, I tried to let it go and order 3 pho tai (sliced beef) noodles soup for the kids and myself and anyone who is Vietnamese or eats regularly at the Vietnamese restaurant, would know that pho is generally a very quick dish to prepare. We waited for quite some time and finally it came. I wasn't thrilled with the pho broth. It was a little bland and could use more onion shallots in the broth. Pho, which was really all I came for, was amazing -- really large portion, lots of noodles, a good amount of meat, all for a good price. I would definitely come back for the pho. Ate in the restaurant and they provided tea for the table, & the tea tasted really great. My boyfriend got a beef & rice dish that was really expensive for a pretty small portion. It tasted good, but the price kinda left me wanting to come back only for the pho. Service was fine, the restaurant itself was a bit janky. The cups that came for the tea were a bit dirty, spoons for soups were just on the table and left me wondering how many people had breathed on them before I came in... maybe pre-covid times I would be a bit less worrisome about that, but got me feeling a bit gross. I went because a coworker told me it was good I did enjoy the tea I loved the diverse-ness of the menu but I think the hard part is once you find a pho spot that you really enjoy it kinda can skew your view. It's been hard finding good stuff in the area especially from a newbie like me coming from Cali. I ordered their small house combo pho without the tripe and tendon and it was the perfect meal for a cold Fall night. The size was perfect for a petite person like me and they had so much meat in the bowl that I ran out of noodles first lol but I'm not one to complain about that. The servers were also nice. We ordered the pork chop, their classic pho, and spring rolls. The spring roll was very crispy and delicious. The pho wasn't too bad, it is however very standard. It doesn't have the punch and complex flavor profile as the best pho I had. Their pork chops are good too, it's sweet and savory. Their service is not too bad either, my waiter was older and he was fast with the order. He is nice due to the fact he still allowed us to order the lunch special after 3. Good pho in New Jersey! I would recommend sticking to their specialty, which is pho or grilled pork chop/stir fried dishes over rice.

First time here and omg what a great little place. I started off with the spring rolls most likely top 5 spring rolls I ever had. Fried perfectly and the insides very flavorful. Next I had the Bun Bo Hue soup. I think it is better than Pho. It was beef and pork on the bone. Broth had deep flavor and the spice was nice not to spicy and full of flavor. I will def be back for lunch again read more
