My friends and I wanted to play pool so after dinner we went there to que for a table. They were quite busy and was kinda mad to the guys (an asian group) because they were quite a large group and I guess they were stressed about that. So we went and put our name in. Then one of the asian guys came to me and ask if we wanted to play together because the bartender totally ignored them. They didnt even serve them when they wanted to order. Also im asian so I think he felt friendlier towards me and told me the situation so I asked my girls if they were okay playing with the dudes. Mind you they look like those nerdy asian guys, very harmless. Moments later I think the bartender got the idea that we would be playing together so he came to us very aggressive and asked if were playing with them - and we said "yes we kinda merged since we felt bad toward them. is that a problem maybe?" I told him I felt bad that the guys were here before us yet they couldn't even put their name to que. And he totally shut us off all of us and told us to leave. The asian guys were like okay we're gonna leave. My two friends on the other hand were like very confused and demanded explanations from the bartender. But he totally just screamed gtfo no one want you here so my friends got a bit aggressive and called them racist. And then words were exchange from the two bartenders and my friends (as an asian I learned not to intervene since I don't have the same privilege as my white friends, they told me not to say anything) anyways it got a bit heated so the guys finally went some place else and we also went our way. On the way out me and my other friend needed to pee real quick so we went to the bathroom. The other friend of mine waited outside the bathroom stalls. I heard some commotion and a thud outside so I hurried to pee and stuff and went out as quickly as possible. I swung the door open and I saw my friend on the floor clearly something had pushed her or something as she had her right hand over her stomach. I quickly scan the room and didn't see my other friend. So I quickly helped my friend out. My other friend is outside arguing with the other bartender again. Basically what happened was that my friend who was waiting outside the door got punch three times the bartender. She couldn't defend herself because he quickly got his one arm around her neck and punched her three times in the stomach. He then quickly shoved her in front the toilet stalls. My other friend only saw my friend's arm by the floor and quickly went out to chase who it was. We both didnt see the assault so we couldnt even call the police technically and my friend was very distraught so we just quickly leave for her sake. I don't know what to do. My friend now doesn't wanna file a report because it'll be his words against her and the people who were there playing saw us arguing with them. So clearly its very difficult to take that bartender to justice. If anyone here has an idea please leave a comment. Thanks in advanced!

One thing I should have known in advance is that you can actually reserve a table, and perhaps I should actually do that next time I come on a weekend. The atmosphere just reminds me of an old vintage bar, with dim lights and laid back tunes, well maintained gear and to me- it's just overall happiness - whose up for a game?

If your ignore the cigarette smell which I always find horrible (hate going back home smelling like an ashtray) - it's a really fun place to sit down, have a beer and chat a little. Kneipes (plural for Kneipe haha) really feel like sitting in a living room or a dining room, most likely your grandma's. Three things that are different though - 1. You can't smoke at my grandma's 2. You most likely won't have beer at my grandma's and if you do, there will only be one kind. 3. My grandma doesn't have a pool table! Oh Kneipe, how happy you made me that evening, I love finding random pool tables around town! Service is ok, prices are fair, music is fine Cool place! Probably will come again ;)

This bar is cash only, no photos allowed inside especially at the bar, the menu is a large chalkboard hanging above with good prices, and they play punk music all night long. There is a nice outside patio seating, however it does close at 10pm and all patrons must either leave or move inside. There is indoor smoking, pool tables, and no line at the bathrooms. Only downside - with the popularity, it can get cramped. My boyfriend and I went on a weekday, and it was flooded with a mix of Americans and Germans. We stayed about an hour, as we were standing at the bar for the most part, but really enjoyed our time there.
