I love this place.. lots to see and they have it all.. they have a kitchen with food to purchase.. I didn't go in that one it was pretty crowded but lot of people at picnic tables enjoying the food.. they had samples of hot apple cider which was soo good! They had a variety of ciders.. strawberry , peace, apple , blackberry! And a booth to get coffee from hidden grounds downtown, a seafood market, and of course produce and gifts.. they had a nice section of baked goods- muffins and different breads! even sold their branded merchandise. You could even get a beer to drink with meal! Very cool spot wanted to stay longer but with Christmas holiday it was super busy but I recommend going! Very family oriented.. today it was cool out and they had fire towers outside to keep you warm.. lots of Christmas tree selling fast.. they bag for you too..

Came across this Market they call " Biggers Market. I really enjoyed my time walking around and looking at fresh produce and local eggs and meat. The place is very welcoming and they have live entertainment. Ice cold beer, wine you name it. They got it. Bring your whole family here and I'm sure they will find some good pumpkins and apples. I will be coming here from now on every chance I get.

Love this place! Stop by every time we're in time for the onions grown in strawberry fields. They genuinely are the BEST! Staff is kind and helpful and the place is super cute. Highly recommend.

My friend lives around the corner from Biggers so we decided to walk off some Thanksgiving food. This market has a little bit of everything, from local produce, meat and goods to pre-packaged sauces, nuts, candy and more. They have a bar which I'm told is only open on the weekends. Fortunately the guy at the counter turned the propane heater on for us as it was chilly and windy. There are picnic tables and large Adirondack chairs to can rest at while sipping your drink. All the employees handling the Christmas tree area were polite and offered to help us if needed (we were simply browsing). You will pay more for a tree there than at a Lowe's or Home Depot. The largest tree on the lot was an astounding $500. For an extra fee you can have it delivered to your home.

Sort of a neat place to visit for fruits, vegetables, and other food items; as well as outdoor chairs. When we were there, two guys were performing. They have a bar where you can order drinks. Prices were on the high side, so we just looked around and left.

Biggers during the Fall

LOVE LOVE LOVE BIGGERS! We just moved to Wilmington this year and haven't found many places that we really enjoy going to. This place was easy to like! The summer market is amazing! Tons of fresh fruit and veggies, local desserts, jams, honey etc. If you go during the weekend there's usually a band or someone singing, a food truck and a decent amount of people hanging out. We also went back in the Fall for pumpkins and again to get a Christmas tree. The people working are always happy and helpful - great staff of young kid

I cannot have enough good things about this place. I do want to say that you need to come early if you want to get the most products in stock. They go quickly. The local meats are so delicious and you can not beat the local salsas. Everyone that works there is so nice and today I bought purple asparagus which I can't wait to try. Parking fills up very fast but there are areas all around that you can park in. It is always no neat and organized, too!

We bought produce on Sunday morning. By Wednesday morning (3-days) both the red pepper, and green pepper turned bad. The "fresh" blueberries needed to be used in my blueberry pie the very next day, or needed to be tossed. Attached is the photo of my receipt, and the bad red pepper. I expect my fresh produce to last a reasonable five days.

Fun place to go, however, pretty sure the produce comes from the same folks supplying Krogers, apart from a few things.

This market has a lot of what you would expect, elevated, some beautiful pottery by Meghan @ Salty, then we stopped by and checked out Brian's hot Sauces @ Sea Monster Sauces, followed up by Molly Mac Jewelry, the wife got her a bracelet. Then we checked out Lotus Haven Honey, Celestial Surf Studio, which had pottery items but items you would use Daily +. The big surprise was Bobby owner of quite a few establishments around town (ie True Blue Butcher x2, and Mariposa to name a couple) peddling some of his suppliers wares in the parking lot, I was sort of pleased to hear that. Wish more owners could support their people like that. (I thought he was trying to push the little guys out of business..J/K There were flowers, fresh bread produced by Little Loaf Bakery and Schoolhouse ( https://www.littleloafbakeryilm.com/menu ) and if you get by try the Friendship Cake, Slap everyone good and then throw in mom for good measure! I can not wait to try the sourdough loaf we bought. I then stepped back in time with Kevin who owns Black Wax Vinyl Records (Play that funky music white boy) with some great classics. He needs to mount speakers and play some of that funk, he also needs to sell small inexpensive turntables something the youngsters would like. If you do not buy anything, stop by and see Joe @ Persephone's Farms by Satellite and jump in get a drink and talk with this cool dude, He has great products and will enlighten your day with Hemp Flower items, hot sauce etc. All in all it was just getting these great sellers into Yelp, and hopefully supporting them through Yelp Army. Show them some love and get there every 2nd Sunday, Hence the name. lol

You'll find something for sure by one if the artisans. I found a wonderful kind woman selling handmade soaps and candles. I bought about 4-5 of them and they smell so wonderful. The river walk is beautiful in general but having a small marker to browse every now and then it's a nice perk. I wish there were more produce related vendors but I'll say that it was this market that introduced me to several other small businesses in the area which I now return to for various things I need.

The kids were excited to buy pretzels and smoothies. I haven't seen my friend for 10 years, so I was too busy catching up with her to take pictures LOL. I saw a couple of vendors selling pet related goods like dog snacks and neckwear. Dogs are allowed at this market and we saw at least 2 dogs at any given time. All of them well-handled by their owners. Saw the usual farmers market items like strawberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes, lettuce, and other produce. There were also a few stands selling cut flowers and/or live plants. I took a picture of some pepper plants that someone was selling bc they are so colorful! My favorite stand was Orchidscapes. The owner showed us several species of orchids that smelled like different things - one raspberry, another like root beer, and my favorite- the one that smelled like chocolate. I eventually bought one of the latter. He gave me a card sheet and his card in case I have questions when I get him (I named my plant Charlie) home. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area. There is garage parking available as well as street parking. Bring cash, as the vendors that we purchased from did not accept credit cards. I knocked it down a star for this reason.

Who out there likes Christmas? What if I said you could experience Christmas-like joy every…read moreWednesday? We found out you can, right here in Wilmington, by signing up for a new local produce delivery service called The Produce Box. We signed up after skyrocketing bills at Tidal Creek had us reevaluating our grocery budget. Our friends in Raleigh have been doing this for a while and I guess it is a service catching on across the country....glad to see something as cool as this in Wilmington. What is it, you ask? $22 a week and you get a good size box of locally grown, farm fresh produce to your DOOR. Yes, right to your front step. Essentially, its the same stuff at the local farmers market, but delivered. We are simply amazed and excited each week when our box comes...to top it off, they throw in samples of maple butter, bbq, honey, etc and you get a friendly note from farmers and produce box coordinators with recipes and what is going on in their world. Financially, we did the math and you'd have to atleast spend $40-50 a week depending on the produce for the same price. Buying direct from farmers really does make sense.... Nothing we've done so far in Wilmington has made us feel so connected to the community as a whole. No subscription, cancel anytime and if you are on vacation you just login and "skip a week" Real easy. After doing this for about 6 weeks, we've seen our grocery budget get back to normal (probably less) and you really feel like you are part of something special going on.... Here are the boxes for this week (they change each week depending on what is in season and what is fresh) - and, they offer "stock up" options like if you want some cucumbers for pickling. Just check out the site, you'll see.... Box A 6 ears of corn Blueberries(one pint) 3-4 red tomatoes Sweet Potatoes or New Potatoes Cucumbers Squash/zucchini Box B 6 ears of corn Blueberries 2-3 red tomatoes 1-2 Green tomatoes Squash Variety: includes papaya squash, regular and golden zucchini Cucumbers Box C (FARMERS CHOICE BOX) 6 ears of corn Blueberries Beans (either green beans, was or pole beans) The rest is FARM choice....

I am like a little kid waiting for my box full of fresh goodness to arrive every week. I've never had anything bad. If it's something I don't like, I simply trade it like lunch with a coworker! I made apple pie last week from the apples and OMG it was amazing!!! I'm a pie baker and in my 20 years of baking, I've never had better quality apples. The squash was incredible, I've made ravioli and bisque that rivals anything you'll find in a restaurant. Plus the "samples" new stuff that you get to try for free!
