Now this place has seen better days, but this carryout has been here for a minute and we decided to go to see if the chicken boxes withstood the test of time. We placed our order over the phone: two 5 piece chicken wing combos with Western fries and a drink. We chose for our drinks the half and half ( iced tea and lemonade) and the triple mix ( iced tea, lemonade, and fruit punch). They also have a variety of snacks, sandwiches and fried seafood items, along with fresh salads and dessert items. We got there and we had to wait about 10 minutes before our order was ready. The lady at counter was pleasant and I swear, that could have been the same lady that's been here for a couple of decades. The ambiance was guarded, as this area is one you need to exercise caution when visiting, with a suggestion to visit as early as you can. We got our order and when we got home, it was still hot. The chicken wings were a nice size and fresh, crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy. The Western fries were nice wedges, hot and fresh, but did lack the seasoning that they had in previous years. The half and half and triple mix were good, but very sweet, even with the amount of ice in the drinks. All in all, a decent place to get chicken in the area.

Oh then paying for special sauce that isn't special. It's bottom of the barrel generic thousand island. Nothing even added to it. It's disgusting and because it's called special, people order it. The lines are always crazy for this place as well. Now let's talk payment. You have to hold your card up to the bullet proof glass and tap through it. The floors always look un-mopped. The area looks unsafe. Would not recommend

The prices are great, the staff was really cool to talk to, and the food was delicious. Especially the area of where the spot is that, back corner, perfect for the quick line you can get, a good vibe for their location. I usually eat boneless wings too but I was messing these up! Both times I got the spicy seasoning all over and the wedges too. The only sad thing I experienced was when I finished the wings because that meant I didn't have any more! 5/5 would come back again!

I finally found myself on that side of town & my heart sank bc a fellow Yelper whose reviews I trust had just an ok Chicken Paul experience. Maybe that was just an off day at the office bc my experience was outstanding. I got a chicken box with Western fries, nothing more, nothing less ... and truthfully, nothing else was needed. My chicken was cooked to perfection, nice & crispy, and flavorful. There's this underlying DC/Bmore food beef & although I am DC born, and practically raised, ever since I've moved to Odenton, and have frequented more food places on the Baltimore side of things, it's no comparison. That applies here too with the fried chicken. This chicken beats any carry out in DC all day every day. As far as the Western Fries(Bmore)/Wedges(DC) go? DC all day. Chicken Paul's wedges were serviceable but not special. I've had special wedges too many times to give them a pass. Still good tho. Lastly, being a smart Alec I requested Mumbo sauce, which is totally a DC thing, just bc I was so sure they wouldn't have it. Boy was I wrong and it cost me .50 cents. Atleast, they called it mumbo sauce. Because nothing about it was that sweet and tangy sauce that I grew up on. So, if we're tallying everything up, that makes it 2/1 DC but the winner is Baltimore because the chicken here is so friggin delicious they win anyway.

It is now right across the street from it. The ambiance is what you would expect from a quick service meal establishment: fast and efficient. I ordered the 6 piece whole chicken wings with western fries. My order was ready in no time and the service from the ladies was spectacular! They also have "party" wings and sell chicken pieces separately (we used to get a chicken breast back in the day with gizzards...).They also sell meals with western fries, and also with western fries and a drink for an additional cost. They have a catering menu where you can purchase chicken in bulk and they also have other menu items such as subs and sandwiches. One note of caution: it is tricky finding parking on the street (paid) near them; you may have to park a few blocks and walk, or in one of the parking garages nearby and walk. My order was hot, fresh, not greasy, and the chicken had a decent amount of seasoning as not to overwhelm it. The western fries were good, but had not coating or additional seasoning on them. My order was very good. All in all, a great place to come and get fried chicken from a business that has been a part of Baltimore for a minute.
