Over the last couple of years we have gotten so addicted to the Big Stickys ribs and pork steaks that we drove all the way from Arnold Mo to get them. The bbq here was soooo good! Honestly, some of the best St. Louis Style ribs and brisket I've ever had. Try the mac and cheese and "cheezy taters" (it's basically hash brown casserole). went to pick up a takeout order today and experienced horrible customer service. there were 3 young girls working the front/register. when first telling them what my order was after they asked, they cut me off and gave me a bag of food. i had to keep repeating myself multiple times to explain what i had ordered (because they kept cutting me off), had finally thought they understood, paid and left. as soon as we got in the car i realized the order was wrong after looking at it and went back in. explained that they had our order wrong and was told that they knew that it was wrong but just didn't ring up what i was missing and let us go. took about 10 minutes to finally get us (just 2 sides) that were missing. the 3 younger girls attitudes were very rude and i've never experienced this at this place of establishment before and i don't think i'll be going back. read more

This is exactly why I love Yelp. Was traveling this week looking for some chow after a long day. I searched the Troy area for a place and ran across Big Sticky's. Thought I would give it a try. I'm GLAD I did. This place is kind of a hole in the wall local restaurant downtown Troy with a rustic decor . There are picnic tables, and some small tables too. A big chalkboard shows some of their offering, but they handed me a menu after a smile and a welcome. You order as you come in at the counter, and they bring you your food. I looked their offering of ribs, pulled pork, pork steak and others. Since I love pork steak, I decided to go for the "Big 'Un". A large cut of pork steak and had cheesy taters with cole slaw for my sides. (The beer is ICE COLD too) Pork steak is traditionally fatty and does not have a lot of meat. The "Big 'Un" was smoked to perfection and there was hardly any fat on the cut. It was absolutely delicious! I cut it with my fork. The taters and slaw were very good also. AND, I'm sorry to announce, I could not finish it! All I can say is they are doing it right at Big Sticky's. The staff was very friendly and thanked me for coming in. I use to eat here all the time until one time I found a hair in my chili cheese dog. I went to big sticky himself and he was rude and called me a liar. He was mean to my six year old son and told me he rather me not eat there instead of refunding my money for the hair dog or offering me a new one. Then one of his associates started to harass me on Facebook and threaten to hurt me while I was 7 mo this pregnant be user I left a negative review on his Facebook page. read more

Owner complete jerk...was extremely rude and would not recommend...ran out of chicken and waitress offered to replace with either brisket or pork...we chose bisket and within seconds she was back to tell us there would be an additional charge...we thought was rude since they ran out the meat and didn't us make us aware until after we had already paid...we told her to relay to the owner that was probaly not the best way to handle your business...no big we were going to pay the two dollars no big deal until the owner came over and very rudely told us we could have our money back. We were shocked that was the way he choose to handle the situation...we were going to stay but not after that..he told us his food speaks for its self...he should probably take that advice and keep his mouth shut... Came to this restaurant after looking for places near me for good ribs. We both ordered 1/2 rack of ribs and paid the extra $3.00 for two sides. I think the sides should have been included. The ribs were very meaty but we were expecting baby back ribs at that price. The ribs, although meaty were bland and dry. We might come back to try the steak or a sandwich but have to say we both have had much better ribs at Rib City or Babylon for $8.99 for 1/2 rack. Loved the atmosphere and lady was very nice but again ribs were just okay and pricey. read more

Passing through for business in Hannibal. Stopped by here for lunch. I must say it was one of the best ribs I've had in a long time. So impressed I stopped again on my way back to Milwaukee. Best meat restaurant in Troy by a long shot, and maybe the best in three counties. One of "Her Highness's" local favorites. Very casual dining with a capable waitstaff. Order at the bar, pay for your choices and take a seat. Their computer based payment software will give you an option to tip before your meal, which most reasonable people will find a little pushy, but the order-taker-person should tell you can skip the pre-tip and take care of a tip after your meal if you like. (FYI: we've traditionally had totally adequate service here) All the BBQ meats we've tasted are exceptional! Ribeye and strip steaks on Fri and Sat starting at 4pm are outstanding! Get there early. The "Cheesy Potatoes" seem to be a regional side dish and are better than they look (or sound). Best Reuben sandwich on the planet! We're regulars here. read more

Food really good, but since the cashier woman was a complete jerk to me. Besides her telling me what I ordered and commanded to me that she asked me twice, then I had staff (rude) behind her coming up and saying that is how it is in all restaurants. I am sorry, but usually staff is not rude like that to their customers, telling the customer what they said and then telling the customer they are wrong. I left almost in tears and it ruined my whole day. I will NEVER go back there unless I get something to go. Sad....that they especially the cashier treats people that way!!! read more

Hands down the best brisket in Missouri. The ribs and pulled pork are excellent too as well are the sides. The cheesy potatoes are on point, hearty, cheesy, and stick to your ribs. Speaking of ribs, the ribs have a flavorful dry rub, but could be very slightly more tender for my tastes. They are pretty darn close to fall off the bone, but the cartilage in the rib ends is not quite soft enough to chew up as easily as I would like. The real secret here is the sauce. Sweet, smokey, and sticky. I could easily drink the bottle. They sell it so that you can take it home. Sop up that sauce with all of the deliciously smoked meat. Yum! Good prices, wonderful food, and a kick-your-butt good sauce that brings it all home. One of my top 5 BBQ places ever, and I have lived in Texas, Memphis, St. Louis, eaten the KC bbq as well. One of the best BBQ places period. Definitely worth the drive to Troy Missouri. Oh, I forgot to mention that the folks are friendly as well. Go get some today.
