Could have been great - but wasn't. First of all, the service was poor. We had to bring ourselves to the server's attention. She was chatting with locals. When the food arrived - a brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich - the buns were cold! Not just unheated, but straight out of the fridge cold. WHY? What a surprise! Just an excellent BBQ AND steak restaurant. I had ribs, no sauce required thank you. Beans and slaw were well above average. Newer interior, with an older building. Park around back. We both had the ribs and pulled pork combo plates. The pulled pork is different, and really good. Wasn't really impressed with this place it was good but not so good to drive the extra 20mins out of the way for me to go there. They did have a steak special Fri nite I went and that was alright but the cheese potatoes were cold to luke warm anf my wife makes sonething similar to this and its alot better in my opinion and the mac n cheese was basically just velveta cheese and noodles. Had the 16oz prime rib special with roasted red potatoes and coleslaw first let me tell you if that was 16oz omg it looked like 32oz the potatoes were very good cooked perfectly the coleslaw had a unique taste that was very pleasantly unexpected great job on that I have only 2 small issues 1. When eating prime rib it is usually served with some juice so all though it's flavor was fantastic it was just a little on the dry side 2. Not good. The sides were awful and the meat was dry. I ended up just throwing mine away and taking the kids to McDonald's after they threw their food away as well. They ordered macaroni and cheese as a side and it was so over cooked the noodles were mushy. I had beans and slaw. I'm not sure but I think there are apple chunks in their beans (gross) and the slaw had no flavor. The beef was sliced way too thick for a sandwich. It was just bad. On 05/29/20 I was working in the area. I smelled the beautiful aroma of BBQ. So instantly made me hungry. Figured I'd give it a try. I pretty spoiled when it comes to BBQ. I'm from K.C. And my wife is from Memphis. So I've definitely had the BEST of both worlds. First thing when I walked in. Wasn't greeted or really acknowledged. Employees didn't have any personality at all. After a few minutes I ordered my food. Full rack of ribs with slaw and a sweet tea. Food didn't take long at all. Was brought my food and that was the end of the service. But I will say. The RIBS were Phenomenal and some of the best I've had in a long time. Outside of KC and Memphis. The slaw was pretty darn good too. If it wasn't for the food. I'd be writing a different review. Honestly the food was what saved my experience to Big Sticky's BBQ. Because the service was subpar at best. If the service was better it would definitely be an easy 5 Star place. But not gonna lie. At first he did not want us in his restaurant, After I challenged him about it being federal law he walked away and from behind the counter during our meal he stared at me with a hate filled look. When we left I asked to speak to him and he did stand while I spoke about my wife being a Navy Veteran with a registered certified and licensed Service dog he should be more aware of the laws covering that. Waited almost 10 minutes before we were acknowledged at all by the staff, who were not very friendly. We got our food quickly but I was quite disappointed, my pulled pork sandwich was not very good. We were pelted with fruit flies during the entire meal which normally I would just remember that it's summer and sometimes that happens but given that the dishes weren't very clean, and there was trash all along the patio I just had to guess that it's because of unsanitary conditions.
