Both she and I prefer playing on dirt/grass fields more than turf, but we also know turf fields don't end up as unplayable when it rains-so they have their place. The softball fields here at Pepper Geddings were great natural fields-yet another great softball complex in Myrtle Beach. This complex has 7-8 dirt and grass softball fields and parking was easy fo all of them. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the fields were maintained, however some of the fields are used for both baseball and softball and the pitchers mounds weren't completely taken down to grade so it threw some of the pitchers off. Otherwise, this is a great complex. Easy in and out off of the main drive through Myrtle Beach, lots of parking in the area of the fields. Well maintained (other than the mound problem I mentioned), and lots of bleacher seating. Most of the fields also had shaded areas to escape the beating sun. I really appreciate the money Myrtle Beach has spent on its fields to attract tournaments ot the area. As I said about Grand Park-maybe next year the girls will get some additional playing time on the fields by winning a few more games and going deeper into the tournament.

And things got super confusing and complicated when we had multiple coaches from Pepper Gedding & Mary Canty calling us. So I called and talked to Kurt. He informed me somehow there was two accounts and my son was actually supposed to be playing there not Mary Canty. And to come to Pepper Gedding reception before practice and they would fix accounts and apply $20 credit for my daughter since they didn't have basketball for her at Pepper Gedding. So I went today and go to front desk and start talking to a lady explaining what Kurt requested to do. In the middle a rude man named Evan comes up tells me they don't do anything I'm saying. Write my name down and move on. I tried to explain that one account has a credit and I wanted to see what was open for my 6yr. He replied with she's getting into nothing! I looked at the lady that was actually helping me and she apologized and said oh that's just Evan he just has bad days I'm soo sorry. I asked her to please just back my paperwork and I would be talking to Kurt instead about all this. Evan heard me saying this and started yelling something I couldn't hear. And the lady again apologized for his behavior and said let's go to Kurt's office now. As we are walking with her I said to her in the hallway with my children nobody else that was a sh*t show and he shouldn't act like that. So we go to Kurt's office she explains to Kurt how Evan was and they both go omg that's how he is. He just has bad days. I'm sorry what?? So then I look at my son and ask if he is even comfortable staying to play basketball there with Evan up front. To which Kurt says you never need to see Even again! U play with us. So I stay with Kurt and he tries to get me to file a complaint against Evan. I said no thank you. I just want to get accounts fixed and basketball fixed and move on. Thinking this is all done and over this my 6yr and I go sit out on basketball court for about 15mins. And Kurt throws open the court doors and yells I need to talk to you now!!!! And yells at my 6yr to sit and stay and she wasn't allowed with me. He did this about 5 times to the point where everyone is looking and my daughter starts crying in hallway. I follow him into his office and he demands I close his office door and scolded me for saying sh*t show in the hallway. Like I'm an employee or his wife?! I was in pure shock looked at him and said I was leaving and taking my son out of pepper Gedding and he yelled out of his office down the hall "Good we don't want you're kind here!!" Excuse me. I will be taking this everywhere and to all his and Evans bosses. They need serious training.

This is located behind the Myrtle Beach convention Center, and according to the ticket agent in the parking lot, it is also merged with it, meaning that some events can also be in this sports center. There is a $5.00 parking fee, all day. it is walkable and easy to get around. There was no admission fee for this event, which is good. Basically we walked around a gym, but it made room for tons of art and craft vendors-- and i even brought an ornament for my new tree! Plenty of room to walk around and for vendors. Also went to the restroom, which was clean, and easy to find in correlation to where the arts and crafts were. We also saw tons of bleachers, and volleyball nets in the other gym while we were looking for the bathrooms- so they have mostly sporting events here i would guess. Would definitely be back soon for another event!

The park is only 1.5 acres but it has a dedicated parking area on the street around the corner. Signs are posted that street parking on Windy Hill Road is not permitted. The park includes a marker "This park is dedicated to Coach Yow, who in 1950, formed a youth camp that gave the children of North Myrtle Beach organized activities when none had existed. His example, dedication and love taught our children the values and citizenship for which he is remembered. Dedicated August 1984. North Myrtle Beach Mayor and City Council."
