Went in just to browse because they came highly recommended from a few friends…read more I specifically told them I was just browsing and pricing at this point and it's like they didn't even listen to anything I said. I specially told the salesman I was looking for a small sectional or a sofa with a chaise in the color grey. He showed me around in a hurry and said "Sit down, try them out! You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first right?" After about 3 sofas it seemed like he was just rushing and trying to get me to buy anything! I then pulled up a photo of a sofa I saw on their website but they didn't have it in-stock. He turns around and gets someone else who said it'll be here in a few days and "coincidently" they only ordered "one" and insisted I need to go ahead and put it on hold if I really wanted it... Didn't your colleague JUST say "You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first right?" They pressured me to buy to the point where I began to feel uncomfortable. It was pretty sad! They bragged and boasted about how they can beat any furniture company and their prices are the lowest, which is debatable, but came off too strong for me. After 3 more times of asking "are you sure you don't just want to buy this one today", "there's no telling when we will have it again this one sells fast", "the price could go up $100 if you try to come back and buy it" and a million other bs sales lines... I told them thank you and jetted out of there. I went to another furniture store across town and had a much more pleasant experience. I told them I was browsing and they respected that. I was able to walk around and look at my own pace. They also had some of the same brands at a lower price as well. Try to actually listen to your potential customers and don't be so pushy.

My wife and I stopped in here today looking for 2 twin xl mattresses. We spoke with Pam, the sales…read moreperson, who said she had been there 10 years and that she was also a manager. We spent a couple of hours in there trying out beds and we finally picked out the Beautyrest Audrina Plush Pillow Top. The pricing signs on all the beds were extremely confusing and I commented on that to Pam. My wife and I have spent most of the last month looking at beds from a number of different stores, so we were pretty well versed on the process and how pricing works. We were looking to purchase only the mattresses, without box springs, because we are going to purchase an adjustable bed frame (split king) from another manufacture (that Mattress King doesn't carry). Pam said that the pricing would be cheaper without the box springs. The pricing on the signs said that the mattress would be $450 for each piece. I had assumed that this would have meant that the price for the mattress and box spring would have been $900. So since we needed two Twin XL's she quoted us the 900$ for both mattresses (plus tax). We told her that we wanted to go to lunch and think about it, and spend a little time doing reviews on Mattress King (which there are hardly any). We decided to go ahead with the purchase and returned after lunch to finalize the deal. Pam closed the deal with us and charged our credit card the 900$ (plus tax) for 2 Twin XL mattresses. So she had plenty of time to think about it while we were gone for the 2 hours. We felt good about our purchase. A couple of hours later, after we got back home, Pam called us and told us that she had made a mistake, and that the owner had said that she couldn't sell us just the mattresses at the 450$ price. She said that the 450$ price was only if you had purchased the box springs as well in a set. Meaning that we would have had to purchase 2 sets of twin xl box springs and mattresses for a total of 1800$ (plus tax). She said that it was her mistake, and that they would lose money on the deal. She said the owner would sell us the mattresses only for 600$ each (so 1200 total for 2 of them that we needed), which was 300$ more than what we initially agreed on. Needless to say, we were highly upset. The signs are clearly misleading. No where on the sign does it say that you HAVE to purchase both the mattress and the box springs to get that listed price. In fact the signs say $450 for "each piece". We have been shopping at many other stores, and most of the stores will have the prices clearly listed as the price with and without the box spring. I knew these signs were confusing, that is why we pointed that out to her initially, and wanted to make sure from the beginning that we were getting the mattress "only" price. We also made it very clear that this was for an adjustable bed, so we would not need the box spring. Needless to say we were highly disappointed. I feel like this was a bait and switch tactic of some sort. Pam repeated over and over that this was her mistake, and that there was nothing she could do about it. She also tried to blame it on a car accident that left her with ADHD.. Whatever that means. A salesperson/manager as she claimed, with 10 years experience at that store, should be more than familiar with the pricing structure and how to put to the sale together. She also had 2 hours to figure out that she made a mistake before we came back to complete the purchase. Unacceptable. Truth be told, we would have probably still purchased the mattresses at the higher price, as long as we had been told that from the beginning. But this left such a bad taste in our mouths that we decided to cancel the order based on principal. I made it pretty clear to them their signs were confusing and misleading, and that it would be in their best interest to fix them. This all seems deceptive to me, and my wife and I will not recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a mattress. We will choose to make this purchase at another mattress store, even if it means it is for more money. IMHO.. the mattress buying process and experience as well as the mattress industry is probably the worst thing I have ever had to go through as a consumer. The whole industry is pretty much geared to screw the consumer. I hope we find what we are looking for soon, because I would not want to wish this experience on anyone.

We had what we…read morethought was an ok mattress buying experience but the next day, when we found the same mattress online much cheaper and asked if they would price match (even though their policy says they will) we were told no. Sucks but whatever, we'll just cancel our order since it's still several days from being delivered. Should've been easy, right? NOPE! They refused to cancel our order! It took my husband 4 days, several hours of in store and phone calls each day with the store manager, the store owner, the vice president, and the area manager before they finally agreed to cancel and refund our money. Even after days of argueing about why can't we just cancel since we don't even have anything yet, they tried charging us a 10% fee to cancel! Hell no! I have never written a review and definitely never thought I would have to write a negative one but this was by far the WORST experience ever! Who would've ever thought it would be so hard to cancel and refund something you don't even have yet?? Please do yourself a favor and do not do business with such a terrible company.

Amazing customer service!!!…read more After a horrible experience with Mattress Firm, I started searching for somewhere else I could purchase a mattress. I came across their website and decided to visit their Hermitage location. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a delightful gentleman named John. I explained to him what I was looking for and the issues I had with my previous mattress shopping experience and he was happy to help me. Even more impressive was that I showed him the tag from the mattress in my guest room that I really like that was 10+ years old, he was able to tell me all about it and while they don't make them anymore, he was able to tell me about all of the improvements they have made on the current models. They had a large selection of mattresses and John was able to show me the ones he thought I would like based on my preferences, and even explained the differences between the various options. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. *Tip* If you sign up for their "Outlet Pass", they'll email you a voucher for an additional discount off of your mattress. Mine was already marked down to a great deal (less than half of what you would pay elsewhere) and they were able to take an additional $100 off. I highly recommend this place and will encourage all of my friends and family to check it out.

TL; DR: Marks Mattress Outlet has amazing service, great selection, and the best prices…read more I just moved to Nashville on Friday, December 1st and thought I could sleep on an air mattress until I found the right mattress. Boy was I wrong, and my back paid the price. The next day, I showed up to Marks Mattress Outlet and was greeted immediately upon arrival by Jerry. He asked me what I was looking for and was able to find the perfect mattress (pillow soft, firm, mix, etc.) for me. Not only that, but when he heard I was in pain from sleeping on an air mattress, he called his delivery people to see if they could deliver the same day (unfortunately they were booked with deliveries all day which speaks to how well the store does). I thought I would be dropping thousands of dollars for a brand name mattress, but it was incredibly priced and next business day delivery was impeccable. Highly recommend this store for anyone looking to buy a new mattress, and DEFINITELY recommend for any newcomers moving to Nashville. I can't express my gratitude enough for the kindness and professionalism Jerry and the delivery men exhibited in finding and delivering my mattress.

Shopping for a mattress is stressfully and equivalently like shopping for a used car. You always…read morefeel like they screwed with you after spending thousands. The mattress industry really earned a greasy reputation over the years. The salesman at Sleep Outfitters changed my view. Buying a mattress and foundation from here is like shopping at an Apple Store. We only had a few minor hiccups on installation (see details below). However, based on my overall experience, I did not deduct any stars. An interesting point, I was not looking to shop at Sleep Outfitters. I was actually looking for another store and went in there by mistake. I never did make it to another store. PLUS, they take proper COVID precautions and we do not shop anywhere that does not take (through real actions) the pandemic seriously. The sales people were fantastic and patient as we explored going between a hybrid mattress with an adjustable foundation (base). As we just hit our 50's, w found a need to really invest in a solid solution to improve our sleep. They were not pushy and understood that I would not be making a $6,000 plus decision on an impulse and would need to sleep on it. Knowing that, they were still incredibly helpful. The store is very low frustration, well organized, and is like shopping very high end. The only issue we hit was with the installation. Delivery was very fast at just two days. However, when installing our tempur ergo base, the delivery team 1) did not screw in the legs all the way, 2) did not really fit the base within the frame appropriately (my opinion), and 3) did not fully install one of the under bed lights (different color temperature and left it hanging). The tech support from the store was great (thank you Austin) as he got me additional legs immediately. I managed to fit the bed better within the frame myself and I still need to resolve the under-bed light issue after I read the manual and do some research. Minor issues really. Just be on the lookout during installation. Overall 5 stars for sales, delivery, and post installation support. As an FYI, I do not personally know anyone who works at this store or for the company.
