One thing I've learned over these last 2 years is the importance of community and supporting small businesses. It's taught me how valuable our local businesses are and how some are not only well known in our city, but are also an integral part of what makes Long Beach special. These businesses have helped bring a small town feel in a big city. Big Red Bus has served that role in our community, my neighborhood and special events in my life. When my sister in law chose a Long Beach location for her wedding in 2009 and needed transportation from the hotel to the venue and back for wedding guests, she asked my husband for suggestions and he immediately suggested Big Red Bus. She could have hired shuttle vans but, chose the double decker bus and the transportation became one of the most memorable parts of her wedding. I'm 2019, we wanted to do something different for my daughter's birthday. She was young and was still building friendships in school. So, her party would include a lot of family which meant entertaining both kids and adults. We hired the Big Red Bus & it was perfect. They picked us up at our house, drove us down the coast to Huntington Beach and back. It was a beautiful day in May. The kids loved the excitement of being on the double decker bus. They played a playlist of music perfect for the occasion. The adults enjoyed the views and being able to relax for the drive with a cold adult drink in hand. Both kids and adults couldn't stop talking about what a fun adventure it was. The pricing worked out and was comparable to the expenses that come with a party at a loud, crowded kids play place or the costs that add up having a party at home. When you have a mix of adults and kids, it can be harder to feed and entertain everyone and I think the guests appreciated the change of pace. Hiring Big Red Bus for both of these events was inspired by years of them being an important part of our neighborhood's annual toys for tots event. Every December, for as long as I've lived here, our neighborhood gets together with the fire department to collect toys for Tots for Tots. Neighbors gather together and fill bins with new toys for kids. We are able to connect with each other and help strengthen our community. Big Red Bus comes in with their Trolley (and previously the double decker bus) and drives us through our neighborhood to look at the houses decorated with lights. It's a special event that we look forward to every December. It brings neighbors together, helps kids (and adults) meet new friends and gives us the opportunity to help the very important, Toys for Tots charity. Big Red Bus is a important part of that. So, if you've managed to read this very long review, I hope it encourages you to support this amazing company. Especially if you are a local resident. A business that has been a local, small business for this long and who is a part of our community history, is a business you should support and that you can trust. I believe one of the owners used to live down my street long ago. You can trust that they'll want to give you the best experience and that they know Long Beach and local areas in and out. Plus, they're awesome hosts!

Fourth year on the holiday lights trolley. It's a lot of fun. Bought tickets through Groupon. Company is well run. They are responsive and its well organized. Tour takes you through Naples Island and Belmont Shores. You see beautiful decorated homes. Pete will explain the history and tell you funny holiday jokes. Highly recommended. We'll be back next year.

So fun! I had never seen or heard of this until I found it on Groupon. I highly recommend it. There were people there for a birthday party, people with their families, and people just hanging out with their friends. I sat on the top of the bus so with the wind while driving it can get a little cold so bring a light sweater if you get cold easily. You're allowed to bring beers on the bus for in between the bars.

Thanks to the friendly, attentive, and highly organized staff and the fun fellow riders, we've done five different tours. We've done the... Big Red Bus Sunday Funday (a great Father's Day) the Big Red Bus Oktoberfest (one of our best excursion days ever) a private birthday charter (as a guest- thanks Jennifer Garcia Cole!) and even the Long Beach Trolley for Christmas (aka birthday charter- thanks Jesus) the Big Red Bus brewery tour, (in a school bus- my first time in a LONG school bus)

$5 rebooking charge if you cancel without 5 days notice, but they can cancel at 7pm the night before! HORRIBLE!

This was super fun!!! They took us to some really cool bars, thank god they fed us in each one too!! I wish we could've spent a little more time in the bars because some of them were packed so it was hard getting a drink but then you got back on the bus and could drink! I recommend sitting on the top where you get a good breeze and beautiful view. Tyson was awesome!!! He made the trip even more fun with his great sense of humor. read more

So I am finally getting around to review this AMAZING company! I am in love with The Big Red Bus and all of it's staff. This is a legit company that gave me and my friends one of the best nights of our lives. I wanted to throw my BF a spectacular surprise 40th bday, something unique so that we would all be together. I would drive by these buses all the time and see the smiling faces, so I decided to call. Peter is who I worked with, and he helped me create the perfect night. I live in downtown LB, and they picked our group of 25 up in front of our house, took us to some great local bars in LB and SB. At each spot the driver and his helper would walk us in, give us just enough time to pound some drink and very nicely and efficiently load us back on board for the next destination. It was absolutely wonderfully executed. I love this company and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a fun group activity. I went on the spur of the moment for the first time yesterday on a BRB Beer tasting. I went with my good friend. This was both our first time going on the bus. It was a beautiful day in LB. From start to finish this was one of the best times I've had. It felt like we were on a mini vacation. Peter was our guide. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Our first stop was a brewery in Torrance. I didn't even know breweries existed out there. We got to take a tour and and have nice size tastings of some excellent beer. We then went to San Pedro for some more tastings, tour and snacks. Our last stop was at the Auld Dubliner in LB. More great beer, food and laughs. We met some great people, and couldn't have asked for a better host or experience. I can't wait to go on another one. I will highly suggest this to many people! My girlfriend and I had always seen the big red bus go up and down the street in Long Beach. We always wanted to try it and it was fantastic! We stopped at 3 Irish pubs where they had food set out for us! Great music, drinks on the bus and great people. I recommend trying this if you haven't yet. You will have a blast!!! read more

I planned a surprise birthday pub crawl for the wife and we had a great experience with the big red bus. The guys that run the bus were easy to work with and fun. They even played along in surprising the wife. It's definitely a unique experience that I recommend if you are looking to do something unique with 20-30 of your friends. Bring a case of beers (cans only), some pre-made drinks, some tunes, and a couple pizzas and you got it made. read more

Bought the living social deal for the Big Red Bus and we had a blast! It is something that everyone should experience at least once! We were able to bring our own canned beers (no glass or hard liquor) which was awesome. We arrived at the Tilted Kilt and the drivers met us outside. The staff on the bus could not have been friendlier and we were able to sit on the top of the bus where we had a great view. Each pub that the bus stopped at was unique and had great food. The guide on our bus was so sweet and offered us beers when we finished ours and blankets in case we got cold. The whole bus had such a fun vibe and we met so many people. We will DEFINITELY come back and take another ride on the Big Red Bus again! read more

The Big Red Bus was soooo much more fun that I expected!! We took it on a "pub crawl" and it was a blast. The guys working on the bus in their kilts (commando style??) were really easy on the eyes and very accommodating. The Irish pubs were fun and the appetizers were great! Everyone was super nice and the service was top notch. I can't wait to get all the girls together in the spring and go again. I'm telling everyone I know it's a must do for a Sunday afternoon. This was our first experience using BRB (bought through Groupon). It was a great and unique beer tour experience in southern California. We got to try out different breweries and beers we hadn't heard of before. It was a fun atmosphere on the bus and they offered loaner growlers to fill up at the brewery and drink on the bus. I would've rated 5 stars, except we got left behind at the last brewery in San Pedro. We were sitting right at the bar and we didn't hear the driver announce the bus was leaving. That was disappointing, however I called the main phone number and got an immediate response! They remedied the situation very quickly and sent a taxi to pick us up within 15 minutes to take us to long beach. Overall our experience was great and I would've rated 5 stars had we not been left behind. They were very apologetic and the bus driver met us in LB so we could retrieve the bottles of beer we had bought that we had left in the cooler on the bus. Awesome customer service, but the drivers need to be sure to make loud announcements before leaving and check for a head count. James even bought us a round of drinks at the Auld Dubliner... Very cool of him! I'd highly recommend The Big Red Bus and would definitely go on the brewery tour again! read more

Did a Sunday Funday tour with BRB this past Sunday and had an amazing time! The bus itself has open windows so that it doesn't get too hot on the top and has amazing views of the coast lines! They also allow you to bring your own drinks on the bus and coolers (highly recommend to keep your beverages cold!). The places we went (Malarkey's, Shenanigans, and Dogz) were all awesome! The first two had GREAT views of long beach and all had appetizers and drink specials that made tour even better! They play fun, upbeat music and the entire bus becomes one huge party. I can't wait to go on another tour with BRB! read more

We rented the double decker bus for a holiday family lights tour. I had high hopes and Big Red Bus did not disappoint. The tour is well organized, santa was super nice...we got loads of pics and santa even read the kids The Night Before Xmas, the tour was fun (they play xmas music and have someone that leads carols on the bus)....even the cookies were REALLY good. While the tilted Kilt seemed like a highly inappropriate place to start a family lights tour, they reserved us the patio and it was a great place to hang out with Santa, grab a bite and let the kids loose without bothering the normal clientel. Robin was the one who assisted me in booking and she was great too. I was told that the capacity of the double decker is 40 people but we had 28 (10 of which were little kids) and it was filled but comfortable. I think 40 grown adults would be ridiculously packed. The lights tour was by far my favorite holiday event of the season. Thanks Big Red Bus.....we will definitely be doing it again next year. read more

Can not recommend BRB enough! They replied to my online request within 24 hrs via phone and email. We discussed the route I wanted to take and they made great suggestions of the bars we should stop at along the way (I had done this for my hubby's bday a few years back and did not want to stop at the same places this time). They contacted the bars directly and smartly suggested to have a taco bar for my guests at Dogz on 2nd Street. Everyone loved the tacos and the much needed tacos helped to soak up the booze as we still had another stop to go. It was a hit and a perfect suggestion! Thanks Peter!! Tyson was our conductor and kept coldies in our hands at all times on the bus. He made sure everyone was having fun the whole time! Thanks Tyson! All you need to do is book it, bring bevies and music on a cd and have a great time! Fun and easy way to throw a party! Thanks BRB! read more

4 of us went for my boyfriend's birthday yesterday, and had a totally wonderful experience. Our guide was funny and friendly, kept the party going and on schedule while keeping all of us entertained. The scenic routes between each bar were gorgeous, the music was great, there were lots of different folks but we all enjoyed the music and everyone sang along. The 3 bars on our pub crawl were all very welcoming and the (included) food was just right for helping us drink a little more! What a super fun day! read more

FUN, FUN, FUN!!! We recently used the "Big Red Bus" for a team FUNdraiser and it was a HUGE success!!! The staff was very professional & accommodating, they made sure that all of our guest were safe and having a great time the entire time. Peter & Tyson put together an awesome bar line up for us. I was worried that with 3 double decker buses and 140 guest the bars weren't going to be adequately staffed. But, as promised Peter had called ahead of time and arranged for our guest to have drink specials and appetizers ready for us at the bars. I am still receiving text & phone calls from our supporters thanking us for a GREAT time! Best FUNraiser ever!!! read more

Went on a private Holiday Waterfront Tour, where the big red bus drives around Naples and the canals to look at all the homes decorated with beautiful lights! It was such a fun and festive experience. As promised, there was a Santa aboard the bus, along with Santa's personal helper who played guitar, sang Christmas songs, and held sing-a-longs as we cruised through Long Beach. It was a great way to spend time with friends, take in the beautiful lights, and really enjoy the holiday spirit. Would make for a great work event or other medium-large party (we had ~50 people). read more

This is a very fun thing to do. Really very cool, the Red bus takes you all around beautiful Long Beach with music playing. The hosts of the Big Red Bus wear kilts which is very cool. They were very nice and very helpful. The only problem I had was the people on the bus are like vultures and didn't save food/appetizers for other people on the bus. I didn't get any food/appetizers at any of the three bars we went to. If I ever do this again I will just bring my own food. All and all it was a fun time. read more

Took the Big Red Bus on a wine tasting tour with a small group for by fiance's birthday. We boarded the bus with snacks and bottles of wine to drink between stops. The staff is very fun and friendly and had a couple of coolers of water and beer for those that wanted to take a break from the wine. We stopped at three different places, each of which we tasted 4-6 wines and had an assortment of snacks. Just enough time was allowed at each location to taste the wine, relax and talk, before getting back on the bus for the next stop. This is not of those that are used to going to the typical Napa tasting. This is a party bus that happens to stop at wine tasting rooms and by the end of the day, the majority of the patrons are "feeling good" and having a good time. We road on the top because it was such a nice day and had a fantastic time. I would say that the tasting/snacks are worth half of the price so the 4-5 hours of the party bus transportation is definitely worth the price. read more

The Big Red Bus was a great time! My boyfriend and I sat on the upper level and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon drinking beer. Beer spots weren't as cool as I had hoped but the whole experience made up for it. Staff was very courteous and fun! Thanks Big Red Bus! read more

One of the best Sunday funday's for sure ! I had so much fun celebrating my friends birthday , great bus driver and funny host .Loved how they drove us to 3 pubs and it included snacks at each pub and we get happy hr drink specials :) We got to drive around the beautiful city of long beach while we drink aboard lol so much fun I would recommend this for everyone who loves to have a great Time :) read more

What a great Sunday Funday on the Big Red Bus in Long Beach!!! Went with another couple and had a great experience! Enjoyed the Irish pubs, tasty appetizers and discount drinks! Great tour guide and had such a blast while driving listening to music and enjoying the view and fresh breeze! I am recommending this to my older daughter and want to do it again!! read more

I'm a Real Estate Agent. I blocked out the entire trolley for a small client appreciation event I hosted. The Long Beach trolley ride was an awesome holiday experience, they served sugar cookies, hot cocoa and santa hats. It was an enjoyable experience. This was my first time with my clients and kept it to 1 trolley, but we had such a great time, we would like to rent multiple trolleys or a larger big red bus next time. read more

I booked this place for a bachlorette party. I had read reviews and thought it would be a lot of fun. Unfortunately it didn't go that well the bars we went to we're family restaurants/bars. How can you take a bridal party there? We tried to make the most of it which we still had fun. But never again, I should have just go a limo and gone to LA read more

Mike and Pete are a couple of local Southern California boys trying to earn a buck and have fun! Both grew up in Long Beach and have spent their lives trekking, surfing, and working along the coastline. The buses have given Mike and Pete the opportunity to explore and create adventures in some of their favorite sandy spots!

Miike and Pete are the proud owners of the Big RED Bus. They both grew up in Long Beach, spending a great deal of time in and around the ocean. This intimate knowledge of the coastline has enabled them to plan many wonderful waterfront itineraries on their authentic London Double-Decker Buses, and SanFran style trolley. After realizing my error in not asking the right questions, my wife found Angel Limousines. 4 days before my daughters bday party, they were able to get us booked with an amazing, clean, safe party experience for my daughter and her friends. They responded almost immediately to my request and I was able to pay the reservation fee within about 1in. The driver reached out 2hrs before the event and texted again just prior to arrival. We exchanged numbers (my wife went with the girls, I did NOT!). Got 4hrs of premium service from Darryl who was professional, timely, and made sure the girls had a fantastic time around town. Highly recommend Angel Limousine!

The day before the event I get an email saying I need to confirm by 5:00 pm, I call and give my pickup address and respond immediately, and them I'm told "too late, we gave your limo away, and we don't have anymore". So a confirmation means nothing to this company, if they get a better offer, they'll take it and leave you high and dry. They tried to use the excuse "well we were texting you all morning (from an unknown number that went to my spam folder) to try to confirm". Never once was I told that if I don't respond to a text fast enough they'll give my limo away I *paid a deposit for*. If there's any response here, they will likely lie and try to say they had no choice because I didn't respond fast enough to text messages, but this company is run by liars. I have attached all the proof that I responded fast to the email, that I was told I had until 5:00 pm to confirm, that they mention *none* of this in the TOS when I booked. The bottom line, if they can get a better deal, they will screw over their wood be customers. [EDIT TO RESPOND TO THE COMMENTS BELOW] Andy is lying, I emailed right away back at *2:23 pm the DAY BEFORE the pickup, and called at 2:20 to confirm I wanted the reservation. He's lying and saying I responded at 6:00 pm, but that's not true.

I had three party bus companies lined up, with 1st Class Limousine being one of them. I didn't mind paying extra out of pocket for my birthday because I wanted everything to go smoothly. I knew that if I went with the cheaper options, I might regret it. Yolanda was great and clearly knows how to make sales. She followed up regularly to ensure my reservation was locked in. I booked a party bus for 25 people for $900 for five hours. Initially, she quoted $750 for four hours, but I added an additional hour because we were traveling far. I even took the time to visit and inspect the bus to ensure it was what I wanted, as it was the last available bus for Saturday, 9/21. I booked with 1st Class Limousine because, as mentioned, I didn't want to be let down. I specifically requested for the party bus to arrive at 6 p.m. at the pickup location. However, Yolanda called me at 5:47 p.m. to inform me that the party bus I had reserved was experiencing mechanical issues. She then offered me either a Sprinter van or a limousine, neither of which matched what I had originally booked. I chose the limousine, since I had to decide quick and had reservations at 7pm in Clermont . When the limousine arrived, it was noticeably older, with worn leather seats. The limited amount of drinks and ice provided was far from sufficient for my party, which was very unprofessional. We couldn't even chill our drinks properly due to the lack of ice, despite being told that ice, water, and soda would be provided. We ended up waiting at our destination for four hours, as we had to wait longer than planned for the replacement bus I had originally reserved. They offered another bus, but it wasn't what I requested, further impacting our experience. While I understand that mechanical issues are out of the company's control and that safety comes first, I was disappointed that no additional free hour or discount was offered to compensate for the inconvenience. I later found out that the Escalade limousine was $175 per hour, not $187.50, which is what I paid for the party bus. While we did eventually get the bus I reserved, we had already waited four hours, and by that time, my guests were fed up. To make matters worse, I had purchased large 40-inch number balloons to decorate the bus, which went unused since the bus wasn't there to pick us up. The time and money I spent on those balloons, as well as the overall inconvenience, were frustrating, especially since no discount was offered even though the limo was a lower-priced vehicle & I'm sure the party bus they were offering was small which meant lower price too. The driver, Juan, was excellent and provided great service, but the last-minute changes and the four-hour wait left my guests frustrated, and the entire experience was incredibly stressful. Unfortunately, Yolanda did nothing to improve the situation. Yes, I was given 1hr free because I demanded the hour. I chose this company based on its strong reviews, but my experience did not live up to those expectations. I will not be recommending this business to anyone. I hope this was a learning experience for the company to check their buses daily and to offer some type of compensation when delivering bad news.

Dear potential guests, Sunday Funday with Big Red Bus was the most fun I've had on a sunday in years! We stopped at a few bars and everyone greeted the BRB guest royally especially the Dubliner which is my new favourite spot in long beach I never knew existed. The driver and host were charming and had the enthusiasm for partying and an awesome adventure as the Jacobite risings had for attacking the royalist. This was my second time on the bus (first sunday funday) I cant wait to book a trip next spring for a surfing adventure - open top down PCH! Their planning is impeccable and everyone on the bus was in high spirits. Truly a one of a kind adventure. Review for the Trolley Christmas light tour: We had the 5:15 tour this past Tuesday. Disappointment in order of events: We never received a cookie as advertised nor were they available at check-in near the hot cocoa. We were told as we were leaving for the tour that the music is broken in the trolley so no Christmas tunes. We went down the same street a few times and really didn't see much. Our kids got bored fast. One positive: The female driver was nice. In conclusion, we were much more entertained driving ourselves to the "East The Toledo" area and getting out and walking to view the lights. Luckily we got our tickets for a discounted rate because I would've been extra disappointed paying full price. We would never do this again. read more

Is it more fun to be drunk on the Big Red Bus, or sober and watching the Big Red Bus? Personally, I have never actually been on it and am rating it solely for how much I enjoy it as a spectator. When you're in a bar you can hear it coming. Even from inside the bar. "AAAAAAAAHHHH ... !!!" (general screaming noise) and everyone in the bar looks briefly alarmed until they remember the screaming just means the Big Red Bus has arrived. Then count to ten and the bar fills with pre drunk people. Five stars. read more

The Big Red Bus is always a good time! I've done a couple of Sunday Funday's and celebrated my husband's birthday which was a surprise bday party and it was the best time ever. So much fun that we had to do it again 2 months later just because. The guys (James, Tyson, Mike) are super friendly and funny and made our night super fun.
