My favorite dish was the Tacaca, an intensely-flavored soup made with tucupi (a sour yellow sauce extracted from manioc), boiled tapioca starch (with a chewy jelly consistency), (very salty) dried shrimp, and jambu (an Amazonian herb that gave a numbing sensation, similar to Sichuan peppercorns). The soup was another super unique dish and was sour, salty, hot, seafoody, and earthy all at once!

They can understand English but even if they don't they want you to shout your order to them in your best Portuguese. They know what you want even before you open your month. And yes the açaí smooth is delicious. It's less sweet and more nuttier compared to the style they serve in the US. So I like it! I recommend getting the small size so you can leave room to try the other foods. Short walk to the beach so it's to the beach but hustle vibe.

They have all sorts of different meal deals from salgadinho e juice or pastel and juice and so on for burgers and all. This is a great way to get some quick bite and go on your merry touristic day. They have outside (sidewalk) sitting and table service , and that is very convenient. Once you are done eating you can pay at the register or as the table server to bring the check. Here in brazil they make a salary and some restaurants also add tip to the bill so generally you don't need to worry about tiping. The coxinha here is a great size and one promotion meal with that should be enough to hold you for several hours. The pastel is also a great size and has stuffing in the whole thing so you will see very little doughy parts. These were great choices in my opinion. Some things to keep in mind. This is a reasonably poor country so if you decide to sit on the outside sitting, keep your eyes peeled for the ppl walking behind and around you. Keep your phone out of site, of you want to yelp just yet to seek some sitting inside at the salgadinho bar area.
