I will say a must visit at Louisville KY. It's across Ohio River, connecting Louisville, KY, and Jeffersonville, IN. Now it's a walk path for pedestrians. To reach the actual bridge, the ramp to walk up is a good incline. Make sure you have comfortable shoes. The view up there is pretty nice. You can overlook the river , KY part and IND part. Pretty cool. There's a park by the bridge with playgrounds and benches. There's also a parking lot but not very big.

The Big Four Bridge is such a staple of Louisville. It's one of my favorite running and walking spots because it connects to the Greenway. It's a must-stop visit when family or friends visit because you can visit 2 states in one walk. There are some great businesses right over the bridge on the Indiana side. There are multiple festivals on both sides of the river. I personally love Waterfront Wednesdays, Thunder Over Louisville, and Via Colori on the Louisville side. On the Jeffersonville side, I've stumbled on a few of the Friday concerts in the summer and had a good time. Also love the farmer's market during the warmer months on the IN side!

The Bog Four Bridge is a such a lovely treasure for both the Indiana and Kentucky sides of the water. I can't help but wonder how much development and business growth spurred on the Jeffersonville side of the bridge aster this project. The Indiana side boasts pi loc bathrooms, coffee shops, restaurants and a playground all within a block of where the pedestrian bridge "spits you out". If you're looking for a way to get in some steps, fresh air and see great downtown Louisville skyline views, treat yourself to a walk or bike ride across the pedestrians only Four Points Bridge. No pets allowed. We enjoyed our morning stroll and all of the friendly faces we encountered. The bridge boasts speakers with classical music (lovely touch) and benches every so often to catch your breath.

This is a really cool, really easy walk. My family and I did it around 9 and there were a lot of other families doing it. I was worried it wouldn't be safe at night, but I didn't feel nervous at all once we got here. It is very cool to be able to walk into another state. The bridge itself is lit up and very pretty. It was also cool to see the city of Louisville at night with the sunsetting.

The Big Four Bridge is a solid little adventure with great views, connecting Louisville's Waterfront Park to Jeffersonville's charming downtown. It's about half a mile each way, and even with our questionable backs, my mom and I found it to be a relatively easy stroll. The Jeffersonville side is where you'll want to shop or grab a bite, though most places are closed Sunday through Tuesday (take note, y'all!). The Louisville side is Waterfront park, so while there are no restaurants, you could enjoy food trucks during spring, summer, and fall at events like Waterfront Wednesdays. Or just pack a lunch and keep thing easy breezy. There's also a plaque mentioning some tragic history about the bridge's construction, which we found oddly macabre. My mom and I couldn't help but nervously chuckle, thinking, "So... now we're just walking on the same bridge where 37 people died? Cool, cool." Dark humor aside, it's definitely a must-do for visitors and locals alike.

Met a friend for an early morning Thursday walk and we were chatting and chugging along at a good pace for at least 6 passes with no hindrance. A few bikers were making their way in both directions, but easy to accommodate, just need to be aware to stay to the far right and let others pass. By the time we left a few hours later, the pedestrian traffic was moderate by midday (lunch hour exercisers?), so we were happy to make our exit. Only had to dodge one large pile of dog excrement, but it's improved from some episodes in the past. I guess some people can't read (no dogs on bridge!) and/or entitled. (Sigh.)

This walk looked more than it was, really enjoyed the walk, the water park, the lookout spot, and the amazing views!

This is simply a really cool spot to hang. It's free, peaceful, and it is romantic at night. Also a kids splash pad and play park during the day (and yes, restrooms). You walk up a winding ramp to the old remodeled RR bridge and cross the river to Indiana, and their park. Classical music is piped in once you reach the middle. During the summer there are plenty of festivals, bike rentals, concerts, and events.

Very cool and FREE place to visit or hang out for the day. This is a pedestrian bridge that spans from KY to IN. It is accessible with steps or a nice sloping ramp that you winds around from the ground up to the bridge. Very well maintained walkways and bridge platform. We came during the daylight and felt very safe and serene. There were a lot of people just all doing their own things. We were able to make it up to the bridge and walked about 1/2 way across (we had already done a lot of walking that day!). They have benches and informational plaques on the bridge as well. We sat and watched the river for awhile. Would be a great place to enjoy a day out, read a book, have a picnic and just enjoy the weather. I would absolutely come back to this attraction if I was back in the area!

What a beautiful spot in Louisville KY!! The walk was nice, albeit a chilly day today. The view was lovely and there's a playground and lots of tables for a picnic. It was a lovely walk across the Ohio River. This is a must see.

Worth it! Cute and historical bridge fun to walk from one side to the other and you are in different states!! We started out on the Kentucky side then ended up in Indiana! Once on the other side we were hot and hungry so we walked a bit further and found a most enjoyable place to eat dinner. Harry's - really great food and views of the Ohio River. My family and I enjoyed reading about the history of the bridge and when you get to the middle you can hear old time music playing. Takes you back into time for a brief moment. I don't remember the distance but I think it was a mile up and back? Maybe shorter. Great picture place too.

Ask the Community - Big Four Bridge

Are there lights on the bridge every night?

Yes. But not sure I would walk the bridge after dark, unless there are other folks out

    Is there parking?

There's parking next to the entrance of the bridge. The parking structure is next to the adventure playground. (Louisville side)
