This hotel opened as the Broadview Hotel in 1922 and I believe much of the interior has been preserved (i.e. the hand-crafted moldings, chandeliers, lobby flooring, etc.) It's gorgeous. And the parts that have been renovated are equally elegant. We made renovations for two, two Queen rooms since my husband and I were traveling with my mom, brother, and sister. Kristina checked us in and made sure that we had connecting rooms on the fourth floor. (Btw, she was so friendly and helpful!) The rooms were very clean and had all that we needed. A microwave, refrigerator, LOTS of outlets. There are many restaurants within walking distance but since it was so hot, we made a very short drive to the Monarch (there is a restaurant in the hotel, but we went there the next night!) Since we were all exhausted to do much else, we took the elevator to the 8th floor to watch the sunset. The view of the Arkansas river from up there was amazing and I now understand why the upper level rooms are a bit more expensive. When we were watching sunset, we realized that you could see the Keeper of the Plains from there and we watched until it was lit at 9pm! (I highly recommend you going there to watch in person at least once, but it was cool to watch from the AC too!) Breakfast was biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, tortillas, toast, bagels, pancakes, waffles, cereal...I may be forgetting something but there were quite a few choices. There were plenty of juices to choose from and a soda machine (that only works during breakfast and dinner.) We only had dinner there one night but it was pulled pork sliders, cole slaw, baked potatoes, and chili. It was all very good. They also give you THREE drink tickets. And that's not just beer and wine. That includes liquor...no heavy pours though...it all comes out of a soda gun! Overall, we had a truly delightful stay. We will be coming here for years to come.

Very nice staff and good rooms-4+ there!…read more The issue comes with the "food" they offer...very low quality and not sure any of it actually originated form an actual animal....eggs were definitely not real, fresh eggs-most likely lab grown or freeze dried and store a long time. Fake gravy made from water...mystery meat they called "sausage"-not recognizable as real. When I asked if they had cream they offered some blueish opaque fluid they referred to as 2% milk. I'm not sure who puts that mess in their mouth-but I'm here to tell you that it is NOT what any person who has ever had REAL FRESH MILK would refer to as ANY % of real milk!!!! Watery and a color that no cow produces naturally! We can talk about their "kickback" food in the evenings but you already know what that was like if you read the above. End result-traveling elsewhere to eat a rushed meal before my appointments, and just skipping dinner because I was too tired to track down a reasonable meal. Such a sad thing to be led to believe a hotel still exists that wants to provide value and service....and then to be faced with FRANKENFOOD.-a slap in the face and a real contrast to the rest of the hotel. Maybe better to just NOT put out anything unless you prefer to have only the customers stupid enough to accept or (God forbid), INGEST that garbage as "guests" throughout your property....something tells me their life expectancy is much lower than those who know what we are looking at!

The hotel is located in Wichita's Historic Old Town district, making it easy to walk to restaurants, entertainment, and local attractions. We parked in the complimentary covered parking garage when we arrived and hardly needed the car again until it was time to head to Tanganyika Wildlife Park the next morning. The building itself is beautiful. I loved the restored industrial architecture, exposed brick, and especially the multi-story atrium that fills the hotel with natural light. If you're a photographer, don't miss the chance to explore the atrium and the historical displays throughout the hotel--they're full of character and tell the story of the building's past. Our atrium-facing double queen room was spacious, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. I'm pretty picky about hotel beds, and these were among the best I've slept in. After long days of sightseeing, it truly felt like coming home each evening. The staff deserves special recognition. Everyone we encountered was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure guests had a great stay. That kind of hospitality is something you remember long after you've checked out. Breakfast included both hot and continental options, along with fresh fruit and juice, making it a great way to start the day before exploring Wichita. If you're looking for a hotel with historic charm, modern comfort, outstanding customer service, and an unbeatable location in Old Town, Hotel at Old Town checks every box. It's more than just a place to stay--it became part of my Wichita experience, and that's the highest compliment I can give.

Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and night clubs. Definitely would stay again, and recommend.

Great service, beautifully decorated, yummy cookies ( and cocktails) in the evening in the lobby, friendly staff and great location. I can't say enough great things. Bonus they have a free shuttle to the airport and Steve the driver that drove us said he would have picked us up from Homegrown when we couldn't get a lift back. A definite resting stay for us!

Not at all true with this Ambassador Hotel. Located in the historic area of downtown Wichita, this Ambassador Hotel is located in what appears to be the newly emerging biomedical campus under construction next door. The portico and lobby are very inviting and decorated to give you the full holiday experience. The front desk attendant wasn't exactly charming at 11pm but she wasn't rude either. She was a bit distracted with her night audit work but got me checked in and upgraded and off to my room in short order. I had room 1010 and I would highly recommend this room any time you stay. This is a multi-room suite with a full living room, a dressing suite with dual vanities and a jacuzzi tub, separate shower and a master bedroom that was quite large with a walk-in closet. So much space for one person! I contemplated cancelling my other reservations and stay there all week, but I didn't. Lots of windows allowing sunlight in the morning and a mini bar with snacks if you have the munchies and want to pay top dollar for the option to eat and drink at your leisure. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and I believe it seems they are well-reviewed although I don't visit either. Parking is in the multi-story parking deck adjacent to the building and likely serves multiple businesses in the area. I think it was $18, no biggee. The only thing that I was cringing over was the sofa. Lighter colored fabric showed off some definite staining that made me want to avoid at all costs. Everything else seemed clean and well cared for. I'm going to give it a four star review for now and try it again another time to see if it deserves more.

The price was great and the location (Wichita) was perfect for what we needed. It's an old hotel and probably could use some additional updates to the rooms, but the lobby looks fantastic. What made this place great though, was the staff we encountered. RaMonte (spelling?) was the main guy working the desk for most of the night and he was extremely hospitable, polite, courteous and helpful. I told him if I could hire him for a job I would do it in a heartbeat. I truly hope he's valued by the management at this property. Joaquin was working the night shift, and I also had a nice conversation with him after we returned from a late dinner. He was also highly personable and friendly. If I'm passing through this area again I would stay here again without even thinking about it. Also, the free drink at check-in was a nice touch.

I'm not sure how their room rates compare to others in the area but I find it ridiculous that they make you pay for breakfast. $14.99 for scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, oatmeal, and weak pastry options. Even more if you pay with card at $16.02. And it was all cold!! Honestly, it might have maybe been worth it if the omelet station was working. Those are supposedly made-to-order. Pretty embarrassing for them. Shame on me for finally trying it. I would've been happier finding a restaurant elsewhere.

This hotel is located a walk away from several breweries and right across the street from the minor legal baseball stadium that has an active social area. We had an amazing view of the waterfront which also featured a walking/running trail. The hotel staff were friendly and went above and beyond in every area of our stay from the front desk to the restaurant. They comped our parking but even if they hadn't, it was only $20 per day in a covered parking garage. This may seem high but in other areas of the country we've paid up to $50 per night to park our car. The room was clean and the beds/bedding were comfy. We had a great nights sleep. The shower had strong water pressure and the hot water was instant. We ate at the buffet which had quality food although wasn't much more than a general hotel breakfast with the exception of a charcuterie type selection of quality meats and cheeses. The fruit had an abundance of fresh pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honey dew and watermelon. They also had the regular apples, bananas and oranges. The hot buffet offered french toast, sausages, bacon, potatoes, biscuits & gravy and scrambled eggs. $20 per person The only criticisms I have: There is no free guest coffee in the morning. They have a coffee bar but it cost like a Starbucks. The guy there was new and his customer service was lacking. The water in the room was $3.50 per bottle if you weren't and elite level Hyatt member so if I was a customer who just happened to stay there and paid for my room, that would have pissed me off. There were only 2 wash clothes with the towels.

I walked from the lobby to the airport at 4:45a and it only took about 4min. Very convenient! As for the hotel, it was nice. Big and spacious with lots of amenities on site. It did feel a bit dated but not dirty or old. Probably needs some brighter lighting or new carpet maybe. Hard to pinpoint exactly but just didn't feel fresh. First, the positives. The lobby is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The restaurant looks very nice... although after seeing the menu prices, my wallet politely declined the invitation. The rooms themselves are perfectly decent and clean. Now let's discuss the pillows. Whoever designed these fiberfill monstrosities clearly has a grudge against necks. They've been hugged into submission by thousands of guests before me and have evolved into random clumps of stuffing with absolutely no interest in supporting a human head. Sleeping on one is like cuddling a sack of marshmallows that lost the will to live. If you're booking a room, I'd recommend the North Tower if possible. The South Tower gets blasted by the afternoon sun, and those rooms definitely run warmer. The fitness center is... unique. It's surrounded by glass. If you've always dreamed of doing cardio while strangers judge your treadmill form like you're in a zoo exhibit, congratulations--this is your place. If you prefer exercising without an audience, maybe just go for a walk outside. The indoor pool exists. That's about the nicest thing I can say. It's tiny. More "oversized bathtub" than "resort oasis." Each room has a refrigerator, which is great. But if you brought leftovers or meal prep that needs heating, prepare for a pilgrimage. There is exactly ONE microwave for the entire hotel, conveniently located near the front desk. You'll march from whichever tower you're staying in, microwave your food, and then stand there while the security camera politely reminds you every few seconds with a cheerful DING! DING! DING! that yes, it absolutely knows you're standing there waiting for your Hot Pocket. Now... let's talk about the real MVP of this hotel. The shower. I honestly don't remember the North Tower having the same setup, but the South Tower had a removable handheld showerhead with multiple spray settings, enough hot water to melt glaciers, and water pressure strong enough to strip paint. For the first time in my life, I was convinced I had actually rinsed every molecule of shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. Ladies... one word of caution. After washing your more delicate regions, resist the temptation to switch that showerhead to "Power Wash." Trust me. Some things were never meant to experience that much hydraulic force. Unfortunately, the shower wasn't perfect. Even with the drain fully open, the tub steadily filled with water. By the end of my shower I was standing in what felt like a small freshwater lake creeping toward my knees. The bathroom also had an odd issue. I had to keep the bathroom door closed because there was a constant sound of running water coming from the vent above the toilet. Whether it was plumbing from another room or something else, it sounded like someone upstairs had been taking the world's longest shower. Overall, this DoubleTree has a nice lobby, decent rooms, friendly amenities, and one absolutely legendary shower. Fix the pillows, add a few microwaves, unclog the tub drains, and maybe give us gym-goers a little privacy, and this place would be an easy recommendation. I've decided I'm taking away stairs because the air-conditioning anymore because I'm laying down and sleeping and he wants to shut off and the TV did the same automatic deductions I only took away one star I should take away all the stars
