Difficult to deal with.. Rude and ignorant. i got as far as getting pricing. Based on the telephone convo alone i said you know what forget it youre quite ignorant. Condenscending tone when speaking, down not to. I requested a quote. $ 120 for an hour 3 men plus half hour travel. I asked how much is the half hour travel? WELL HALF OF THE HOUR - i replied with, I didnt know the travel half hour was the same price for three men working.. I simply asked a question. So its approx $200 for the hour i ask. WELL PLUS TAXES! Horrible service and I was gouged in the end. I had to prepare an emergency move and was foolish enough to go to these people. They charged me for two hours for a job that should have taken four grown men about 45 minutes. Additionally, during their time on the clock, these incompetent crooks abandoned my job in order to go to another one that took them all the way to Bay Roberts, trying to assure me "Well these things just happen." I've never seen such a piss poor business, I will be happy to see them go under. I urge you to save your pride money. read more

I just read down over all these reviews and each one of them was exactly what I experienced when I hired them 7 years ago. Yes 7 years and it still bothers me what happened. Horrible, Horrible experience dealing with them and cost more than quoted. Could care less about my things and man running it was ignorant, saucy, disrespectful, and had the worst attitude. They loaded up stuff and he kept asking for more money. I went to my parents and got more ...as much as I could get. Over $500 and you know I don't think he thought I paid him enough and I personally feel I never got all my furniture and stuff. I do not recommend anyone hiring this company...ever. read more

They charged my mother for over 3 hours work which they showed up LATE and from beginning to end spent a total of 1 hr and 20 mins MAX moving from one basement apt to the other. They completely damaged my mothers entertainment unit, without letting her know (it was too obvious not to tell lol). Also, was told on recording - $115 an hr (will use against them if forced) however, after an hr and 20 mins and damages later, charges her $395... yeah no, my husband is a lawyer, you owe her $165 or I will take it further. I called to complain (as anyone would after being scammed) and got a response that he's "too tired" and to call back. Umm, unprofessional? Yes. This is far from over. I wish I had read these reviews before hiring this company. Extremely bad communication and professionalism. They broke my 55" TV during my move and even though the owner of the company came by during the move, just after it happened and promised to replace it, it still hasn't been replaced. So first of all, I booked them for a specific time/date over a month before I wanted to move. The first sketchy thing that happened was that I got a phone call the day before my move from a random cell phone with a guy who told me he had been hospitalized and asked me had I found someone else to move me after......this was totally unexpected and a little unnerving. I was a little confused as to what he was talking about but agreed that I still indeed did need to move....the next day, they showed up a little late. The guys doing the move were friendly, but that's the best I can say about the whole experience. I had a 55" Smart/Roku TV that I asked if they could move safely, because if not, I could take it over myself, in my car. I was moving literally to the next street over. The guys assured me they could safely take it and proceeded to pack it into their truck. When they finished and unpacked it at my new place, a 30 second drive away, the screen was totally broken. All guys present were very apologetic and they called the owner. He showed up while they were finishing up the move and saw the damage and they took pictures. He promised to replace it within a day or two. AFTER this, they overcharged me from the quote of $120/hour for 3 guys to $310 for an hour and a half move to the next street over. I never got a new tv or any money toward a new one. I sent dozens of emails and texts over the following days. With little to no response. After the lack of communication about the issue, I finally went on google and started to read reviews of the company. I am a single parent, working full-time, and they are a company who will likely claim this through their insurance, but either way they can certainly afford to pay for the damages they caused. But Big Bear Movers left me high and dry. They even knew that I was a single parent. Hopefully I can save someone else the time, trouble, money and stress of hiring this company to move them. read more

Well for 5 minutes of a move and for a fake piece of paper they gave me to get cash back then they also brushed me off by an actual receipt and 120 dollars later when they told me it was only be about 80 at most cons in suits bad business damaged property and no respect read more

Good rates but not the most honest practice. Receptionist said it is "$75 per hour for 2 men", I clarified to make sure that's the only charge and he confirmed. First thing they came and said "it's cash only." When I went to the bank and called the receptionist how much it is, I got put on hold and pass around 3 rounds." It took them 45 minutes to upload everything but 1 hour to offload less the half the stuff. Later they told me there is another charge for "travel time", which I was never told despite double checking before they started. They charge hst too but no receipt still. I talked to the drivers, he said "You thought we are xxx? This is just a small company out of his basement." That sums it up I guess. Btw they were careful but still made a scratch on the hardwood floor. read more

I had a great experience with Big Bear Movers! They were considerate, courteous and took care of my furniture from pick up to delivery. They also set up my bed and sofa set once we reached final destination. The price was great, no hidden charges. I was so pleased with this company...keep on doing what you're doing, Big Bear Movers! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. I definitely would not recommend using this moving company. They underquote time (and therefore cost) by double or more when they should know better; they've been at it long enough to know how long it should take to complete a job. They are very immature, unprofessional and argumentative which shows a strong lack of respect for the customers who are paying them so that they can stay open. Also, they quote one thing, and do another............they don't complete the job of reinstalling the furniture...........just dumped it all on the floor in more pieces that were necessary............overcharged and left the place in shambles!!! You deserve better, look elsewhere! read more

Horrible experience. Terrible service. Movers damaged my leather sectional set and dining table set, left cigarette buts in my bathroom and charged me an extra $40 more than I should have been charged. I have had bad past experiences with movers but this was by far the worst. I would not recommend this service to anyone unless it's for dump and garbage removal trips. read more

Kept changing the price from $75 to $95 per hour. Broke my lamp in the process. Had a cigarette outside prior to starting job which was supposed to be prompt at 930 and charged me for that ten minutes. Job took 30 minutes to being something from room to room and they charged me travel time whatever that means and it cost $150 with taxes. No receipt provided and no deduction for broken lamp. read more
