He works a short hour at a high rate, thereby billing at 50-70% above his stated rate. Spent all his time lawyering (and billing) vs. resolving. While it's not entirely unique for lawyers to inflate a problem and make a meal out of it, I had further difficulties arise from his poor performace and advice, including tax problems which were avoidable. Hired to complete estate of my father. Unfortunately his office was closed for months during Covid…read morebut he billed us for auto response emails stating his office is closed. When asked to provide an invoice for expenses due to the funds coming out of the estate I was told "your case is closed and if you want an itemized invoice it will cost you a lot more than the retainer given me". He sent me an invoice with an additional $1500 above the $3500 retainer and he did absolutely nothing for us. He closed our case due discovery of family conflict, which he was well aware of because this was why we hired him. We were upfront about the conflicts within the family and he took our case anyway.
