After I purchased a bottle of water in Biedronka, Warsawa Wschodnia branch, on 25 Aug '21 at 11:08 AM, I was physically assaulted by the branch manager and the store security. I had the receipt in my hand in plain view which they didn't ask for before the attack and ignored it when I was trying to show it to them. They did aggressive body searches multiple times where my clothes were pulled up to show bare skin in full view of many other customers. At the same time I was constantly being pushed and shoved by the store manager from behind and the security from the front. It was clearly a racial hatred attack as the security whispered abuses to me so he couldn't be heard.
Extremely disappointed and shocked at how Poland's biggest supermarket chain treats its customers and the kind of people they recruit. Biedronka has dismissed this matter as a standard procedure if they suspect shoplifting - very shameful response. I have lodged a police complaint and intend to pursue legal action. I am a British citizen of Indian origin, I cannot help feel that it was racially motivated. read more
