Very nice small restaurant part of chain. Pierogis were delicious. Got a mixed platter which meant we didn't really know what we were eating, ie the filling. read more

Biedronka rocks my socks, my shoes and the ground I step on!…read more For those of you unfamiliar with this Polish chain of grocery stores, it's also a haven of funky STUFF (everything from teapots, floor mats and sewing kits to baseball bats and pajamas!) that is only available for a limited time until they run out, so if you find something you like, don't wait for the next time you come to get it! (in some respects I guess you can compare it to Lidl) I also love their yummy straight-out-of-the-oven wholemeal bread, this particular brand of greek yoghurt they have and the surimi, no to to mention the cheap alcohol. I may be overreacting now, but doing my grocery shopping here gives me heaps of happiness. I leave with a smile on my face from the bargains I've made100% of the time with my hands full of Biedronka-bags and wallet full of zlotys that I'll spend on something else. *winning at life*

It reminded me of an Aldi, meaning they have pretty much everything you need but no frills. There's a good sized produce area and a butcher/ meat counter plus plenty of pre packed stuff. Prices are very reasonable! I found 1.5L bottles of mineral water for US .16 (that's right, sixteen cents) and decent bottles of wine for under US $6. Half liter beer cans were in the .35-.75 US range. Much to our delight, this Biedronka stocks several kinds of paprika chips so we had delicious snacks as well. Staff isn't especially friendly but I wouldn't expect them to be.

Fresh meat and veg and finest and good range of wine. All the food is keeping fresh and quick taken away if close to the expiration date and also a good full range of Asian food to the clients like me. Friendly staff and helpful to and most of them speak good English if you are a foreigner. Cashier queue looks long but just takes few minutes. I will definitely recommend to my friends to shop here for everything.

It's just outside of the Old Town city walls near the Barbican in the Kleparz district. I didn't see as many tourists venturing out that way. Although, there were people visiting the Grunwald Statue. It's a great spot to visit when looking for more of the local flavor. I was totally impressed with the selection of beautiful berries and mushroom varieties. The gooseberries looked especially nice. Everything was very well-presented. It's an open air market that is covered. It's actually quite shady as you walk through it. There are ATMs outside in case you need to pay in cash, but many vendors except cashless payments. I really love that it has more of an International mix of products. There are Italian, Greek, Ukranian, and Spanish vendors as well as Polish. The freshly dilled whole pickles in the wooden barrel were very enticing as well as the bakeries. We really just stopped to get a bottle of water on our way to a resraurant nearby. They really do have it all here. I'd shop here weekly if I lived in Kraków. They are open daily with extended hours on the weekdays (6am to 6pm). It's totally worth a visit.

You'll definitely cross every item off your grocery shopping list, if you have one :). If not, this is the perfect location to satisfy your appetite for local, unique products and more. I have my favorite guy there who sells 'oscypek'. 'Oscypek' is a smoked cheese made from salted sheep's milk exclusively in southern Poland. His products are always great. Even though I've never bought anything from him except cheese, the cured meat he offers always looks fresh and appetizing. I'm not mentioning the freshly killed poultry. This is a bit too much for me. 'Stary Kleparz'/Old Kleparz is an interesting spot to observe a lively part of the city. Saturday is the best day to visit. Have a coffee, or a glass of wine. It's such a pleasant way to relax and watch. One more thing. When it's busy, remember to secure your valuables. At some point my backpack was unzipped and the additional pocket had also been opened. Luckily the falafel I bought was still there. Just saying.
