Remember when it used to be that if you bought a bike private sale, it was a risk, but if you…read morebought any bike at a dealer it would be gone through because dealers held themselves to A standard of some sort? The only way that made sense to buy a bike from National was to buy a new Triumph because they had no fees. Of course they would stop selling new triumphs, because being confined to msrp isn't Nationals style! Pretty sure they bought out Second Wind Triumph too, only to bail on the brand, so they really screwed New England. So now all your options are "premium used" which come with just a 90 day warranty and no test ride, but you will pay absolute top dollar. They've always had "opportunity vehicles" which is basically like buying from a stranger on the side of the road. Very vague details, risky purchase, and yet still above NADA very good used condition prices... riddle me that! But now, they also have "mechanic specials" which must be the Rat Bikes from Road Rash and be absolute nightmares. Then they have "salesmen" who are kinda like Walmart greeters, who openly brag about the "steals" they pay for their inventory. Got it, low ball to get the inventory, charge top dollar for what a "dealer" should be putting on their showroom floor in the first place, with a bunch of junk at your own risk. Buying a motorcycle in NH from places like National, Naults and MOMs is almost enough to just quit riding.

    Rhoads Motor Sports

If I could, my rating would be no stars at all. My experience with this motorcycle shop was less…read morethan ideal. In early July 2015 I brought a Harley Davidson Dresser to Rhoads Motor Sports in Loudon,NH. The owner assured me they could repair the front brake and find out why the motorcycle was running poorly. A phone call a week later and they insisted that they checked the coil and that tested great so I would need an ignition module. They thought they would rebuild the carb also. After repeatedly bleeding the brakes, the mechanic informed me that they would need to rebuild the caliper. After rebuilding the brake caliper and also replacing the ignition module, (rebuilding the carb didn't help) the mechanic took the motorcycle for a test ride. I got a call that he had dropped the bike on the ground after the front brake locked up during the test ride after the repairs Rhoads did to the brakes. Luckily he wasn't hurt too badly, just banged up a little. The batwing fairing was damaged, crash bar bent, spotlight smashed, directional smashed, front fender wrecked with trim pieces ruined. Rhoads Motor Sports said he would fix it just as it was before he took possession of it to repair it. I waited the rest of the summer and got the phone call that the bike was ready to be picked up. I got to the shop on September 23, 2015 and was informed of my bill. I paid $1,560. and they brought the bike out front. I just wanted the bike back and figured at least it was fixed and the nightmare was over. I got on the bike and drove the bike 8 miles to my home. I parked the bike in my driveway and started looking the bike over. I walked to the right side of bike and saw a ding in the tank with scratches. I almost lost my mind at this point. The paint job on a Harley is the pride and joy. I had this bike painted the previous fall, a base clear deep black with several coats of clear. Did I mention how deep the paint looked? I called Rhoads and informed them of the damage to tank. Owner accused me of damaging it myself on the way home and told me he would not pay to fix it. Long story longer, I paid my own body/ paint technician to repair/ repaint tank. Finally, I had my bike back and was ready to ride. Late September, I had a Sunday to ride by golly, and I was going to do just that. The wife and I got our full leathers on, helmets, and full gauntlet gloves. I let the bike come up to temperature for a few minutes, we got on the bike and drove it approximately 2 miles. Bike started to cough and bark running even more poorly than when I brought it to Rhoads. I brought the bike to a reputable bike mechanic and he treated the bike to a full once over. Making sure all is tight and right, he solved the ignition problem, it was the coil after all. A set of spark plug wires and new plugs was in order. Runs like a champ... Wish I could have avoided the entire Rhoads Motor Sports experience. I have dealt with a lot of business people in my years of life on planet earth but never have I been treated as poorly as with this bike shop. If I had dropped a customer bike on the ground, I would have gotten the customer bike running correctly while I was waiting for parts to repair the damage and I certainly would have tried harder to protect my business reputation by not charging for labor to fix the bike. Just felt it was time to let the rest of the planet know, my experience was not as fruitful as I would have preferred. Skip this shop if you can, find a real shop that will diagnose the problem instead of throwing parts at the bike at the customers expense. Oh by the way, the repair parts were not exact replacements for originals. Aftermarket crap made you know where is the norm now I guess. Thanks for listening and be warned! I would never have posted this if I was treated fairly. I am a hardworking honest person that would protect the reputation of my bike shop rather than trade that for $1,560. of crappy service to my customer base. One bad review echoes for a long time in a small community. It sends shock waves through and shakes the core of a business. You only have your reputation and once that is tarnished, what else do you have?

I needed a 5000k service, and thought I'd check it out. Troy treated my bike like it was his own, that to me was very important. Their 5000k service included everything from soup to nuts. In other words, more than any dealership. When I got the bill, I told Troy, I asked him if that was correct, as it seemed too low,...as I am an honest person and want to pay my fair share, he said that it was...sold...customer for life! Last winter I left my bike with Troy for another 5,000k service, to have the top end rebuilt, and to install a Ginz sissy bar with brackets and to have the brackets and fender supports powdercoated black. Quite a laundry list of things to do. When the bike was finished, it was mid winter, I told Troy that I wanted to ride it home, he said no problem, come and get it when you want to. There was one day in February when the weather was in the 50's. I told Troy that I wanted to come and pick it up, no problem. I thought that I would have to pay for storage at least while the bike was there, Troy said no. I was very pleased with the job that EVO did, and I could tell that Troy was too, as he told me how everyone in the shop enjoyed looking at the bike when it was finished. As a repeat customer, I want to say that I have been impressed with Troy and the quality service he and his staff at EVO Cycles provide in Derry, NH.
