This is one of the best Parisian libraries (and my favorite one). It is very big, bright, and looks…read morenew. There is a big space for working, with huge tables and plugs at each table (!). The tables are near windows so you can get daylight (contrary to the BNF, supposed to be the Parisian research library, where you cannot see a ray of sunshine). The room is rather quiet so it is easy to focus. The children's section is at another level. Free wifi. They have a section dedicated to fanzines of all types (never seen this at another Parisian library) and coffee machines downstairs with an area where you can get coffee and sit down to eat (why don't they do this in all Parisian libraries?). An exhibition area with exhibits about the Parisian East (the area where the library is located). Books loan are for free (but you need to have a Parisian address), movies and CDs loans are for a yearly fee. The negative aspect is that as all Parisian public libraries the opening hours are embarrassingly short: from 1pm to 7pm on most days, and from 10am to 6pm on a couple of days. Closed on Monday (if I'm not mistaken).
