If pretty libraries are your jam, this is a must. It's an overwhelmingly beautiful space. Sadly, the facade was being repaired, so couldn't get the full effect. Shockingly, we learned that at night, the whole place is covered in something (can't recall--leather? tarp?) because they let their colony of bats come into clean up bug shop, and keep the books bug free. Fun to imagine the nighttime vibe in there! As has been mentioned, photos aren't allowed, and yeah, that blows, but it is a really unique space unlike any other I've seen. And this gal loves some libraries. (If you must be able to photograph the historic library you visit, I suggest the Trinity College Library in Dublin.) The biggest downer about this library is the wait to get in with the timed tickets and that if it's a warm day, there is no dang shade in the plaza and where you have to queue up.
