Marra Marshall is located in Monongahela and is surprising a beautiful building. The outside is a beautiful building and the inside is set up to allow for people to pay their respect in a comfortable atmosphere. Parking is a bit wonky as there is on street parking and a parking lot behind the building. The staff kind of direct you where to park so that they have maximum parking available. What I am going to review here is how kind the staff are to those that attend a funeral. They were really respectful and spoke in hushed tones when talking with those visiting. They were helpful in directing people where to go. When I went to leave they were empathetic to the situation. Rest easy friend.

Something is fishy about the flower situation, he donates them to charity. Shouldn't the family decide what gets donated! Some flowers were never even put out! Find another place to go, find someone who knows what they are doing. Especially at a sad time, you need direction and guidance, you will not find it here. Also, his voice mail is always full and you cant get thru the funeral home! Death certificates can be picked up in Pgh., the next day. You dont have to wait 3 weeks! The list goes on!!!!!

I want to highlight how genuinely remorseful he was for our loss, and how kind he was. Matt was also so kind, helping me hook up my slideshow for my Gram, and assisting us. Every detail was really thoughtful, including a special charm Nick gave my mother and I at the end that is cut in half, one piece to stay with my grandmother & one with us. They checked in on us at the perfect times, asking if we needed coffee or water. They greeted all of our family and gave their condolences. Perhaps the most touching aspect was how Nick helped us get my Grammy home. There was an issue back home in CA with her death certificate (nothing to do with Alfieri, it was her doctors), and she almost did not make it back to PA, her final resting place. Thank you Nick and Matt, truly. You gave my Mom, her brother, and our whole family peace and closure with your services.

It's a terrible atrocity how this cemetery is being taken care of. We have several little dogs…read moreburied in the pet section and purchased all of the headstones through South Side Cemetery as we were told that if we purchased their stone, if any damage was caused to them, the cemetery would repair or replace. I visited my pets today and saw many of the stones in deplorable condition, including mine. We have asked the cemetery to repair in the past, several times and nothing has been done. Also the grass has not been cut in a very long time it's easily 2 ft. high. South Side Cemetery should be ashamed for not having enough respect for our pets, who were our family. Also, most of the damage done to the stones were caused by negligence from weed whacking or just lack of concern. I also feel it is a breach of contract as the contract we signed specifically stated that if any damage was done to the stones it would be repaired or replaced by the cemetery. Perhaps reaching out to the local news media will be my next step.

I was also threatened with pictures of my brutally murdered son when I 6 months later (I was in shock at the time and just accepted I had to have a closed casket) later went in to see why I couldnt have had a open casket. My son was shot in the head and but had a his full face so Im sure they could have put a hat on him or something. I mean the reconstruct faces at some funeral homes and my sons face was fine. My mom and brother seen pics of him from the corner and they both said his face looked fine it only had a small scratch under his left eye that makeup could have hid easliy. When I asked the funeral director he said, "that kid had no back of his head!!", "you want me to show you??!" As he was looking through his folder to show me this horrendous picture of my son!!! I also wanted to see what suit they buried my son in since it was I couldnt see my son and didnt know the suit was never delivered until after my son was buried. The funeral director lied right to my mom and my face and had the nerve to say my mom brought his suit, but she did not and was not the one suppose to even bring it. Also it was made very clear this was a young man's funeral and there would be a lot of ppl attending and the funeral director was either running around yelling about the amount if ppl there or he was hitting on ppl and not only was he a easy 20yrs older then the ppl he was chasing around but he is a married man, and suppose to be a religious one too... It was so bad at one point he was literally stocking ppl and relentless hitting on them even on facebook. He is truly a sick man and I can not believe I trusted him in my weakest moments with my sons finally hours on this earth. Please I beg of you to not make the same mistake!!! I tried contacting the funeral home and its owners countless times, not that they could even fix anything, but I wanted them to know what kind of service my son had and for them to make sure it doesnt happen to somebody else, but I never even got 1 reply back, nothing. Im telling you please do no waste your $, or emotional well being and go with a funeral home that has respect for your loved ones weither they are alive or dead because Greens does not.

This last interaction with Scott "the owner" was hostile. I called because I received a repair bill on repairs I DID NOT request. The last time they did repairs (that I had requested) they patched my grey awning with black patches. I ask Scott to please make sure that any repairs they do to my grey awning they use grey material because the last time they used black patches. That was not received well. Scott informed me he was no longer going to store my awning and he was returning it to my porch and leaving it. They showed up and left it that day. BEWARE!!!

My in-laws arranged the funeral, so I will comment on my experiences rather than theirs. Upon entering the funeral home, I felt impressed by the building and the staff. The parking lot had an adequate number of spaces. The interior of the building was in good condition and was stylishly and tastefully decorated. We had several rooms with many comfortable chairs and sofas on which to sit. The employees had warm personalities, expressing condolences and kindly reminding us of the 10-person limit per room during the COVID-19 pandemic. The employees also wore face masks correctly, made hand sanitizer available, and often wiped down frequently touched surfaces such as door knobs. During the funeral at the cemetery, the employees gave the family cues about what to do. They played beautiful music and released a white dove into the sky.
