2020 is unexpected, with great uncertainties and likely future changes. No matter what happens we are still living, making decisions, and perhaps enjoying a delightful surprise in a little shop when you walk around the small town, Carmel. The shops have started to reopen after months of quarantine. When I stepped into Bhody, I saw people had their faces covered with masks, and items were neatly displayed in the store. The Bhody manager and other associates work extra hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for customers. We are strangers, yet I felt very welcomed and safe during my stay. Our respectful social distance didn't prevent our warm engaging conversation. The staff shared so many interesting things with me. I quickly glanced around the store and immediately noticed a white shirt I couldn't resist to have for this summer. I love it so much and I knew I will get it for myself. I kindly requested the staff to make sure the shirt is safe for me to try on. They are so kind and professional, they told me that every day they use high technology to scan, clean and iron each single item in their store. I tried the shirt and it's such a classic fit. I love the elegant and simple design. The fabric is soft and organic. This white shirt I will cherish forever, and remember that it made me smile in such an unusual year of 2020. On a separate​ occasion,​ I also lucked out and scored a killer pair of black bell bottom pants with some sparkle on the legs. I bought the soy avvya nail polish remover and "long lasting"nail polish. I really like the remover but the nail polish is a waste of money. Chipped on my second day. I wouldn't be so annoyed if the entire sales team had not guaranteed 10 days. I even told them I didn't believe it but would give it a try. This store is one of the only stores during Shelter in Place that updates it's windows in Carmel-by-the-sea. The store obviously puts a lot of time into what they do because they keep up with appearances even when closed. I will be stopping by once it opens up after the crisis. read more

I'm not one to go into boutique shops, but they had a dress displayed that I couldn't walk by without trying on. It was beautiful and comfortable and I looked great in it. Gabriel and another assistant were fantastic - picking out a few dresses I would not have thought I would look good in. And I also looked great in those. (They even had me put on my awesome shoes I had just bought at sock shop -- and the whole outfit was perfect). I love the shop, its inventory, and their wonderful assistants. I felt taken care of -- even though it was a shop I wouldn't have even tried. I love this shop and next time I come, I also plan on buying a kick-ass dress that will make me feel like the beautiful woman I am and not the slumpy mom I've lived for the past eight years. read more

My partner and I got invited to a private event here which was so much fun. The owner, manager and staff were all so helpful while walking around trying on clothes. I bought my outfit here for my first ever professional photo shoot! I was so excited, and the whole sales team was excited with me. They helped me pick out the perfect outfit and they indulged me cat-walking out of the dressing room and spinning at least five times haha. They were really sweet and professional. This is a great shop. The owner buys unique items that you don't find elsewhere. She has a very European sensibility. Things are reasonably priced.
