I started as a super newbie here and began with ONLY the restore classes which I absolutely love. Breezy and Louise are were my OG's. Both encouraged me to try other classes and made it an easy transition to try em out. Fast forward and I just completed my 300th class and like I first stated...this Dana Point Y6 staff and community are amazing. Every class style gives you a little something different and then each teacher brings their own personality and experience. From meditation and breathing techniques to pushing myself in power or sculpt to the themed classes and candlelight classes to yoga bingo...every hour has been rewarding. If you are looking for a great studio with amazing staff and teachers...this is the place. You will feel it in mind and body. Something for all levels (truly all levels). I feel spoiled I got so lucky having this place right here in my neighborhood. Bringing Ashlie in has been a great bonus to the studio and our Dana Point community. Between Darbi and Ashlie they are always checking in to see how classes have been; asking about my interest in workshops; and simply being a great support system along my yoga journey. I was treated to my first class here from a friend who knew I needed it when I didnt even know. I have taken two Yin Yoga classes with Shawna (I believe that is her name, I am so bad at that lol). As someone who has tried yoga before I was really nervous to try again but the Yin was exactly what I needed. I did struggle a little bit, but Shawna was absolutely kind and understanding and lets you go at your own pace. It was amazing. This past weekend, I did the Gentle Walk Home to yourself workshop with Maggie. ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED!!! This was incredible. It was a 3 hour workshop and my friend recommended it to me as she felt I could really benefit from it. I am forever grateful. I had no idea what to expect, and towards the beginning, Maggie had us write in a journal and I got unexpectedly emotional. Really emotional and I cried. I let a LOT out. I raised my hand when people were sharing their experience during that, and in this room full of women I had never met, they were so caring and supportive. They crawled over and hugged me. They thanked me. They got up and hugged me and rubbed my shoulder when they walked by at the break. Maggie thanked me. I will not share any additional details of the workshop as there are no photos or videos and I respect the confidentiality but it was the best thing I have done in as long as I can remember. It was 3 hours of just pure self care and love and support. I can not express how grateful I am for Maggie, for my friend that recommended this, and every single woman in that workshop that made me feel so loved and comfortable and supported. It was honestly life altering. I let out so much I was holding on to, I slept so good Saturday night!!

You can see the ocean right as your practice through your flow and it literally cannot be matched by any other outdoor yoga experience. I am a beginner level yoga person (yogi? the bear?) and thought the flow was challenging and fun. It was quite sunny at the park so I do recommend that you wear a hat and wear plenty of sunscreen.
