The studio was a decent size and clean. I was there for quite some time. It was not a quick process compared to the first newborn session. I had with my eldest daughter. I was told I would be receiving the photos within 30 days. I never received the photos. I do quite a bit of modeling, and our family is decently known. Looking for a Newborn Photographer and the Los Angeles area, I was actually referred to by a friend. With all of the modeling and family photographers I've worked with I've never experienced this type of delay in response or demeanor in a business owner. I contacted Kristine on multiple occasions (4) as shown through text and email. When I finally suggested today, I will need to reach out to my attorney ( not because of the money but because I wanted the photos, this is a memory that most all parents want) she finally replied. Her demeanor was completely unbecoming and truly filthy. She sent me screenshots that somehow showed my email. I'm not sure if it was a login screen or a contact screen but she had said I saw the photos in September, which I had not. I have absolutely no reason to argue with a struggling business owner. I was just reaching out to get the photos I needed after the fifth time contacting her for a service I paid for. She blatantly called me a liar in these messages. All I wanted was my photos that I had paid for and help accessing whatever it was that a lot of me the opportunity to see them . I would not let my children around this woman, or even refer anybody to her ever again. That aura is absolutely filthy to have a newborn around.. and you might not get your pictures for eight months! She should have been more professional and apologetic, rather than antagonizing. I will be contacting most all outlets and using my social media platform as well as others. This is a very fragile time for mothers/ families behavior, and the text after you read is not something that any newborn mother would want to tolerate.

If you're even thinking about booking The Years Photography, do it…read more My family had the most incredible experience with Lydia, the artist behind The Years. She's a documentary-style photographer, which means she shows up, lets your family be exactly who they are, and somehow captures the most beautiful, heartfelt, real moments without ever once saying, "Okay, now smile!" She came to our home, which already made the session feel natural and relaxed. My kids were bouncing off the walls, someone was always mid-snack, and I was convinced there wouldn't be a single decent photo. But when we got the gallery back? I cried. Somehow, she saw the beauty in our chaos. She caught the little looks, the messy hugs, the laughs, even the quiet in-between moments that I didn't realize were happening. Nothing was forced. My family felt completely comfortable because she never tried to make us "perform" or pose awkwardly. And yet, she delivered a ton of stunning images that somehow reflect exactly who we are. These aren't just photos. They're memories, perfectly preserved. I can't recommend The Years enough. If you want real, raw, meaningful family photos that feel like your life, not a Pinterest board, this is your person.

The results far exceeded what we'd hoped for, capturing in color and black and white the special feeling we get in this season of life at home. She set all of us at ease without really trying, suggesting we move through a few of the outdoor and indoor spaces we enjoy as a family. Her lens tended to zero in on what mattered most, while any of our clutter felt like a non-issue. The kids simply played or shared some of their favorite things in each space, and what evolved were some of the usual games or activities that make the images feel so essential. Her ability to capture young kids playing naturally within their domain is a true gift!
