The teachers are very knowledgable in early childhood development and create a very loving and friendly environment. There is a drop off line, so parents don't have to get out of the car to drop their kid off at school, which makes drop off super easy. There's a small playground outside that kids play on during the last 30 minutes of class. The co-op aspect is very manageable. Parents volunteer in the classroom about 5 times per year and are assigned one job. The jobs vary but they are not time consuming. For example, the laundry parent would wash a small load of towels once per week and hand them to the teachers in the drop off line. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!

On our second day, our child sustained injuries (by a teacher) during a transition to outdoor play. According to the incident report and findings posted on Michigan's Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) website, a staff member lifted our child by one arm, resulting in a dislocated elbow. When the child fell, they were dragged by the ankle toward the door. This incident was formally documented and substantiated by state regulators. We also encountered issues with transparency and communication. Despite available space in the GSRP program, our application was ignored without explanation. At the same time, the center was actively promoting the program on social media and encouraging others to apply. Classroom ratios were another major concern. In the Infant 2 room, we personally observed up to seven children assigned to one teacher--well above the state-mandated 4:1 ratio. Although this was reported to the state, and temporarily addressed, the issue returned within weeks. We received multiple calls stating our child had a fever as high as 104°F. However, upon immediate arrival, we often found our child active and well. After bringing our own thermometer, we rarely confirmed a fever. This raised concerns about whether these calls were being used to reduce classroom numbers during staffing shortages. We also observed a pattern of retaliation after raising concerns. For example, our child received a write-up for questionable reasons. We witnessed management speaking harshly to both children and staff, at times causing staff members to become visibly upset. In one instance, our child was threatened by another student with violent language. Despite the center's stated zero-tolerance policy, the response was dismissive. We were left feeling that disciplinary standards were not applied consistently. Adding to our concern, we noticed that at least three of the five-star reviews on Google appear to have been written by current or former staff members. This raises questions about the accuracy of the center's overall rating and public image. We stayed longer than we should have, largely because of several wonderful teachers who truly cared about the children. Sadly, even those educators have begun to leave. The center does have potential, but meaningful change is needed--both at the local management level and within district leadership. We would like to return in the future, but only if that change occurs.

If you like the service you receive and from the perspective of a parent and not an employee, well then I'm a very happy customer. I'm very lucky and excited to have such an amazing place and teachers for my child. I'm always amazed by the creativity of the curriculum and the excitement, expertise, and patience of the teachers. I see what the kids did that day from singing and reading to science class and am shocked for that age. Another important factor is the diversity of the student body. I'm so very glad to see that the kids get to learn and play with each other from many different cultural backgrounds. Ultimately the most important factor here is the faculty. They are amazing with children and am 100% confident that my child is safe and am amazed by what they learn each day.

She was splitting her attention between playing on her smart phone and yelling at different kids. I called the director to tell her what I saw, and no one ever returned my call. I have since seen the offender continue to yell. I am so disappointed as considered sending my child here. It was a plus to be super close to the school. I also think for the quality education and life skills our daughter gets, price is more than fair. We already see positive changes in our daughter. My son entered college with 22 college credits due to the advancement placement tests that he had taken. Per usual, they are sugar sweet when showing me the school before I decided whether we'd enroll. I say "per usual" because I've seen this with the other preschool my daughter attended. Once enrolled and paying, they barely make eye contact with you and today I was approached by Mary Beth (assistant director) with "Hey, do you know you are a week late with tuition?" No first name, and rudely addressed in front of other people. Apparently my check I payed two weeks earlier (my daughter attends two day/week) was mostly just a deposit, which was also not explained to me. I apologized and said I'd bring in check when I came to pick up my daughter. Meanwhile, I had promised my daughter (as I always do now) to go to her window and blow her a kiss goodbye...this in exchange for her to be a "big girl" and not cry when I leave, which she often does. I was so embarrassed/offended on my way out that I forgot to go to her window. Talk about breaking my heart (and my daughter's) as I drove home remembering I'd forgotten the blown kiss! I had my daughter at Goodison in Rochester for a couple of years and the staff was wonderful. Caring and personable toward the children AND parents, so I'm not naive about how a great preschool should be run. It's a shame once the management has "reeled you in with tuition checks" they choose to be uncaring and insincere-- very unprofessional. I'll keep her here because her daily involvement is really with her teacher (Ms. Bethany, a real sweetheart) and teacher assistants, who are the opposite of the directors, warm and caring.
