Prices start from £1.90 for an adult single scoop cone or tub and is perfect for an indulgent treat whilst you stroll around Knaresborough Castle yard just a few minutes away.

We were somewhat puzzled by the fact that, if you required a gluten free tea you had to have lactose free too which seemed strangely rigid and punative (and totally unnecessary) as all the items are prepared on site by skilled people. Our two people who required the gluten free option had to request cream for their scones and in their merangues (strange when the merangues served to the rest of us were gluten free anyway). We also felt that the surcharge for gluten free of £2.50 was a kick in the teeth for people who already have less dietary options and are, after all, limited by a medical condition. Service was variable with some delays and unanswered requests although I have to make it clear that one of our servers, Alberto, made up for the failings of some colleagues by demonstrating consistantly excellent customer service and a very pleasant demeanor, he made our visit so much better! It was really pleasant with a view of street out the window, a fireplace and lots of quirky eclectic pictures on the wall. The food was incredible. We both had a burger, can't remember which, but super meaty, super tasty. Big flavour, big belly. I felt like a fat badger after that. Service wasn't the quickest, but it was cheerful and helpful. If you dropped a coin or more in the box, as you were being sat down, the waiter made sure you got served efficiently - the boxes had written on them to improve promptness. as I've said before, I can resist everything but temptation and the pastries, cakes and of course the smells here just yelled buy me. Happy to oblige me dears. I mean iced fancies, sweet pies, crispy tarts, buttery shortcrust, fresh cream, grated lemon zest, meringue. Oooh. Expect to pay a sum commensurate with quality.
