Impressed with the vast amount of records accross all music genres. I love the most of them especially from the sixities to the ninety's. Got a jazz album, a lot of soul music, some pop. I sold off my large music collection in 1991 to move from Atlanta to Louisville. The owner said he has been open since 1978. I will definitely be back to get more music. In the mean time I need to figure out how to change the needle to get better sound. Great records, vast selection, great prices, is music to my ears!

They sell record players, not old-fashioned ones but all-in-one types, and they are good enough. They also sell old and new vinyl and though I don't know firsthand, apparently have a great event on record store day. If I was going to buy a used game from Gamestop these guys would be higher on my list because at least I know that the money I spend here actually goes back into my community's surrounding area instead of to a corporate office, even if things are little more expensive than the major retailers sometimes. It's worth it. I haven't made it back as much as I would like to because I live over in Louisville and I just don't have the time to play all the games that I want, but you can find anything you may need here Gamecubes, Nintendo 64's and games, modern systems, pop culture memorabilia. I'll be honest, this place definitely surprised me!! Me and the boyfriend were out today record…read moreshopping and were at a standstill.. we wanted to continue our venture, but I didn't necessarily wanna drive down to the Highlands to Book & Music Exchange or drive 30 minutes to Half Priced Books... Lo and behold, this shop came up in my search for record stores!! I was a little skeptical just because I'd never heard of this store before, but they didn't disappoint !! We were greeted immediately by a really nice man... I didn't get his name, but he was incredibly personable and friendly!! When I first looked around I was scared they were just a vinyl store (i'm more of a CD collector because they're more compact + cheaper) until I noticed their cd wall which had an array of things!! From well known artists like Ozzy, Beatles, Alice In Chains, to more local artists like My Morning Jacket, they had it all!! They even had a cassette section which was my holy grail because I'm also a BIG cassette person too!! They had both a mix of old and new ones... even snatched up the Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan on cassette (which they also had on 7" vinyls and regular sized). Aside from records and CDs, they also had a nice selection of comic books in the back, as well as stickers, t-shirts, buttons, and show posters from concerts/events that had happened in Louisville!! This is definitely coming one of our main record shops to visit when we need our cd kick!! Absolutely love the vibes and selection!!

I love enjoying my coffee from P&TY and browsing the records. The selection is not as large as a huge music store, but they have a good variety. The staff in the front of the coffee shop is there to assist you when needed. For example, I wore a KISS shirt into P&TY and upon placing my drink order was told the number of KISS records they had in the back, and asked to please let him know if I needed anything at all. Mr. Friendly definitely seems like an accurate description to me!

The next day I arrived at 4:30 but I found it closed still with no explanation. From the window one can see the vinyl records are in direct sunlight and are sun bleached, the store is very small and kept only decently tidy. Additionally it is in a dirty part of the city and the area is frankly pathetic.
