I've gone to most of the Better Buzz locations in San Diego and I can say some good things and some bad things about the brand and this location. Overall, this location has some of the best indoor design in my opinion. Bar stools, booths and tables, there's always an open seat somewhere. It's never too busy and you can find multiple people sometimes working on their laptop. It makes for a good vibe. However, the service here is a bit curt. Better Buzz in general isn't known for it's friendly service, I would say your average Starbucks staff member is more friendly. The problem with this location I would say is the management who are always here training new staff and walking around. They are the most dismissive of all. They could care less about being polite when taking your order. It's a "what do you want?" vibe. They've also been weird walking around the restaurant and discussing plans right next to where you sit, almost like they want you to get out of their way. You probably wouldn't notice their curt attitude on your first visit, but over time it comes across. Lastly, I will say this location has consistent quality and speed on their drink delivery. Better Buzz in general has better espresso based drinks than the sugary crap you can buy at other chains. read more

The online order feature of this place is horrible. I always order online for pickup and my drink is never ready at the time requested. I've even tried ordering for pickup 30-60 minutes out and it's still late. Prioritization is clearly given to those in the drive through and inside ordering. I've been to better buzz in escondido about 6 times now and I can say that they are always rude with no customer service skills at all. I still leave a tip everytime tho, today I went through the drive thru, the rude girl that was working the drive thru asked me if I wanted to leave a tip, kinda caught me off guard. I said sure, so she asked me how much I would like to leave? Didn't want to seem cheap so left a pretty good percentage tip, she punched in the tip percentage and didn't let me see. Felt kinda shady and pressured to do so, all this with her being rude. I can say I will not go here anymore. Seems like they need better customer service training. I have to say being a coffee lover I have gone to many locations and many different brands. But today although it was very busy On a single day at betterbuzz Edwin didn't let it change his attitude or customer service. He maintained a positive attitude and helped us after we discovered that we had loaded a card with $100 being told it was their rewards card from another location ended up being a regular gift card. We were very upset finding out we wasted $100 without with no reward back. He guided us how to resolve it and was very patient. everyone at this better buzz is so kind!! i dont to very often, but every time i go i have an amazing experience. today i went and they forgot my avocado toast, so i went up and asked them about it and they happened to forget but were very apologetic and still made it a great experience! i didn't get her name, but a girl asked me if i wanted anything extra on my toast and gave me bacon, an egg, and tomatoes. a few minutes after i got my toast i got up to get napkins and one of the workers, elijah made me an extra surprise drink! also i had to mention that their avocado toast is my favorite ever. i've been to so many fancy breakfast places, yet theres beats everywhere else. definitely my favorite coffee place, and that's coming from a starbucks partner! thank you guys so much! read more

They gave me an unflavored drip coffee when I asked for a caramel latte. I reached out to customer service and they asked for the location so that they could help me better. That was two weeks ago and they never replied to me ever again. This was almost a $6 coffee. Do better, better buzz. read more

So excited as soon as I found out Better Buzz was opening so close to home. They have so much more variety in drinks...coffee is definitely not bitter unlike other competition. Thought I'd try out, heard about opening in Esco. Long lines inside and drive thru, but surprisingly my drive thru wait time wasn't that long. Menu had some unique items, but the honey latte caught my eye. Also got a zucchini muffin. At the window I could see the staff working fast and girl working window was quite friendly. Got military discount because I paid using my USAA card! That was nice that she offered since most places never ask or offer. I would definitely go check them out! However, if/when you request light ice you receive 2/3s drink (at least that's what I got on more than one occasion) instead of a full cup! Went to Better Buzz for the first time today and I'm now obsessed. The line for drive thru was pretty long but they has someone walking it to take orders and credit card payments. Thus really helped and I didn't mind waiting. The woman who took my order was very helpful and made a great recommendation. I also appreciated that they have kid sized hot chocolate and could do it at kid temperature. I got the hazelnut divinity and I'm already trying to find a reason to be nearby tomorrow so I can go again. Sooo good! read more

Decent coffee but this one has terrible customer service. The only thing nastier then the staff is the nasty "kitchen" where they make your food and coffee. It's unsanitary and if you go regularly it is evident that they do not clean it often (if ever). This is why they already have multiple violations in the short time they have been open. The curly headed guy that usually works drive through in the evenings is unprofessional and most of the staff treats you like you're an inconvenience to them. Just went thought he drive through and it was a completely terrible experience. First off the car in front of me had a dog that the attendant spent almost 2 full minutes petting the dog and feeding it a cup of cream. There were approximately 10 cars in the drive through and the attendant had no consideration for the other customers. The I pulled up and exchanged words and the lady started disrespecting me about my disability and saying they would bit be able to serve me. All while she was holding my drink and telling me about how it is there corporate policy. I explained myself and after a few min of going back and forth I was able to pay for my drink and they gave it to me. This is such a disrespectful staff that I will never go back again. On top of all this the coffee was watered down down and boarder line undrinkable. There are to many other coffee establishments in Escondido to waste time at better buzz, should changed their name to Buzz kill. read more

The customer service is awkward and unhelpful, the drinks take forever to come out, and every single order I've ever had has a mistake on it. I'm really picky with coffee. Being from OC, finding strong, flavorful coffee and espresso can be tough. I tried Better Buzz while driving souf to San Diego and it seriously has become my new favorite spot. The caffeine really wakes me up compared to other brands and types of coffee. The coffee and food at this place is AMAZING!! Friendly service, great atmosphere, clean restroom (yes, this is a big deal). My only complaint is that the iced drinks have way too much ice (my large mint infused iced coffee was 80% ice) but I'll just have to remember to ask for less next time. Such a fantastic iced, honey-sweetened oatmilk latte! Heavenly. Super friendly servers, a nice place to sit and sip. Except for the WAY loud music that makes conversation a no-can-do. "Coffee shop" should bring to mind a good cuppa and time to read solo or catch up with friends. They got the coffee part spot-on, but the dance club chaos, nah thanks. Every coffee I've received from this location has been exactly what I wanted with consistent flavor. All employees do a fantastic job but I've only ever talked the most with Laura because she is always working the drive thru in the morning. One of the most well spoken, poised and professional employees I've encountered in a while. She's always clearing cars quickly through here while maintaining a friendly experience for every customer from what I've observed. Great job Laura! read more
