I want to write a review that will help both the first-timer who's maybe not sure about God and the…read moreseasoned Christian who's looking for a new church home. I've been here four times now, so I believe I have enough to pull from to write a good review. It doesn't feel like your "average" church. It will feel different than what you expect from a church. There's lots of younger, casually-dressed, coffee-holding people mingling around the sanctuary before the service. The stage has a wide variety of instruments and the space has a no-nonsense aesthetic, with the original, old-school features intact from the church who resided in the space before Hope. You'll quickly learn that the church is about the people. You'll likely be approached by somebody else, and it's not that they spotted a newcomer; chances are, they are probably also a newcomer who wants to meet someone. You're definitely not going to be alone as a first-timer, and the people who start off the service are going to be accommodating to that. The worship band isn't your old Lutheran church's white-haired, calm and quiet kind of band. Be prepared for a rock concert-like experience. You'll see dreads and pink hair. The level of musicianship is leagues above anything you've heard in a church. Once worship wraps up, the pastor counterpart of Jay Leno will walk up, with witty one-liners that will make you feel comfortable, if the band or nice people around you already haven't. Steve Treichler is very easy to listen to. Not only does he have his own brand of humor, but he's a great teacher who will spend time going slowly and methodically through the passage at hand for the week. For example, he breaks down the Greek words that the New Testament is written in, he'll provide cross-references to other books in the Bible, he'll call upon the ideas of old theologians, and he infuses his own experiences and stories. It's never dense; it's always accessible and interesting to the layperson. I guarantee you will learn something about God and the Gospel. The Gospel is preached here every Sunday. Getting involved in the community and communicating hope in Christ to the watching peoples in the Twin Cities are of utmost importance for this church. This review doesn't do justice; you need to be there to experience Hope. I highly recommend it.

Amazing community when you join a small group. Interesting and biblical and relevant sermons.read more

The facilities were very welcoming for a meeting of about 50 people. The church is connected to the Sheraton and Hyatt hotels via sky bridges.

This was a perfect collaboration with the church and Candle Light. I was blessed to be in town to see the performance. The church architecture is absolutely beautiful, equally the same inside. They have parking on the side of street, make sure you pay the meter, it was only $2 for 2hrs. The cheapest parking you will find in the whole city. Follow the ticket directions and follow signs once you get to church. This will help you go in the correct door for the show. The ushers will help you with your seating area once checked in. Service was welcoming and bathrooms were clean. The show started on time and was fabulous, the musicians performed beautifully rendition of Adele. I definitely would attend a show here again in the near future. I sat upstairs in the balcony area, perfect view and sound was excellent. If you get a chance go see a Candle Light show, it was a great experience!

The website and the image that they market themselves under is not consistent and true with the type of church that it is. They market themselves as a non-denominational church that is welcoming and open to all and is there to help bring new comers into the path of Jesus Christ. One gets the impression that it is friendly to new people and those who are of younger generations. In actuality it is not very welcoming and the crowd is much older then I was anticipating. I was probably one of two people under 30 in the crowd of 40 or so. The pastor had good content but his delivery was a little off-putting. I'm not a fan of being told when to say "Amen" or being prompted to say "Hallelujah". Also, they take communion which I only have experienced a few times at other churches that I have gone to but this is a weekly experience at 3 Degrees. I am neutral as to taking weekly communion since bringing the spirit of Christ into one's body is what the whole purpose of the act is about. As someone who is new to Christ however, it was not a place where I felt very welcomed. The music is a bit to gospel and out-dated. I just couldn't feel a connection to the greater Purpose here.
