I think it should be more heavily funded and expanded with greater book collections for all our students in the area, including college/grad students etc. Also, it should have a coffee shop attached to it for those who want to check out books and go drink some coffee... akin to the Barnes & Noble sort of experience, or far better yet, Powell's Books of Portland, OR! Anyway, great little libraries are key to great, thriving communities for families and this one is a great start!!

It's small with a tiny selection, but it does have a decent sized computer lab, if you need that. Parking is a pain, though. Unlike the main branch, which has a decent amount of street parking plus after hours parking in the city garage, street parking at this branch is very difficult at times. I came to the library today 8/24/17 so I could make a photo copy as well as print a paper I needed…read morefrom the public computers. Upon arrival I asked how I was to go about using the copy machine and the girl working the desk with brown curly hair told me it costs 15 cents and that I can receive change for a dollar at the machine. I got my 4 quarters and she helped me make the photo copy. She kind of had a degrading attitude as if I was stupid because I didn't know how to use the copier but I just ignored it. I handed her a quarter for the 15 cent charge for the photo copy and moved on to use the computer to print something that would also cost 15 cents. When I was finished I went up to the counter to tell her I was finished. Since the first print was 15 cents and I had given her a quarter and then printed something else that costs 15 cents I knew I only had to give her 5 cents since I didn't receive my change. Not that it really mattered to me because it's just a couple cents. But when I told her I owed her 5 she looked at me like I was crazy and really rudely said "honey no you don't own me 5 cents I own you 10" I was so baffled that she was taking to me like I was a child and acting like I was crazy for thinking I owe her 5 cents. I tried explaining it to her again and she slid a dime towards me and with a condescending cocky attitude and said "just go". I was so shocked and felt like it would be worthless to argue over a few cents. What is wrong about the situation is the way she talked down on me as a customer from the moment I asked for her assistance. The librarians are there to help, not talk to you like you're un-educated. I have a college education and have worked for an incredible hospitality company as a team leader for 8 years. I know how to count change and I don't tolerate people talking to me, or others in the way she did. I have lived in Nazareth for my entire life and grew up going to the library. The librarians are always nice but whoever worked the desk at 5:30/6 PM on Wednesday August 24th needs to learn to count change and have a nicer attitude.

I stumbled upon this library by accident due to my daughters taking dance lessons in the basement…read moreevery week and after a few months it really grew on us enough that even though it's out of our way we come here now instead of dealing with the more hostel and inept staff of the BAPL. While it may be a bit of a pain to some, the HAL does not open their outside book drop when the library is open so you always are handing it to a person inside or are putting your material in their inside drop area which is right at the front desk so you know they have the book and there is no mystery as to where it may have vanished. Also they allow you with ease to renew things over the phone. More than once we forgot to return something and were not near any options for the Internet but one easy call and the items were promptly renewed without hassle. Try that with the BAPL. It's like getting wisdom teeth pulled through your ear. While the catalog is naturally smaller they have most of what you would want and their magazine choices are quite vast. HAL is not for everyone due to it's smaller size but it works for us and we'll be coming for the foreseeable future.

You know what I mean- they advise you to call for hours and NO ONE will answer the phone!! Plus it's an ordeal every renewal with long lines, inefficient service, and dealing with rude workers who have zero incentive to be courteous. Not the case here!! This license center in Lehighton gave me stellar service- very easy to go to the kiosk and sign in- as I finished signing in before I could plunk down in a chair to wait, my number was called. The young man at the desk was pleasant, polite, patient and helpful. I'm not used to being treated this way by Penndot in Montgomery County! I'm used to being ignored, waiting in long lines, having my time abused and being treated badly! Things are so much better here upstate and people are way kinder! The whole process took less than 8 minutes. I praised the two employees I saw and thanked them for their kind service. I told them the people of Lehighton have no idea how fortunate they are to be served by this office! This office is located near McDonalds, GIANT, Big Lots and a mini strip mall across from Lowe's. The entry and exit is a bit weird and tight from the main road. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
