Attended here myself - HORRIBLE experience. If you are a girl of a darker persuasion with high…read moregrades, this is not the school for you. Expect the teachers to scream at you and make excuses to get you into trouble since they have the power to do it and won't like your kind. Debbie Leonard was one teacher. She tried to manipulate me into believing there was something wrong with me. Even as a child I knew she wasn't trying to "help" me. She then slandered me to the school counselor and sent me there. When we spoke, fortunately the counselor knew there was nothing wrong with me. Mrs. Leonard would yell at me and insult me often, while turning a blind eye to any child who mistreated me. The following year, she slandered me to Nancy Swan, my 5th grade teacher, who was even worse. She would SCREAM at me in front of the whole class. She would yell at me for weeks because I had a pencil case instead of a pencil pouch. I asked her why that even mattered, and she stuttered and said, "You're too old to have a pencil case." As if there's an age limit on stationary. And she was stuttering, because she knew she was lying. She, like Mrs. Leonard would find ways to get me into trouble and make stuff up to have an excuse to yell at me. I found notes in my folder of her trying to convince my mother that I needed to see a doctor, even though she was the one trying to bully a 10 year old. Oh, and Jennifer Klaas-Taylor, the gifted teacher? There were two plays: one on the Civil War, the other on Slavery. Since I was one of two children of "a darker persuasion", she had the lighter students put on darker make up for the slave play to make it look more "believable"! There's a term for that, you know. For the sake of avoiding triggers, it's putting BLACK makeup on your FACE!!! She then looked at me with the make up and said, "You're next." Ha, get it, because, you know, I'm already....? This place was horrible, and I don't miss it at all.

Miss T, the director, is so personable and learns everyone's name. Teachers we have experienced, Anne Marie, Cindy, Avonne and Tina, are fantastic with the kids. The school makes people feel welcome and Miss T is also very proactive in dealing with any challenges that come up. They also really take pride in creating a community at the school: fall party, parent involvement, Halloween parades, book fairs, etc. We feel very lucky to be a part of this school family.

My Son and Daughters have been with Gwinnett county since our move here a little over 3 years ago…read more I absolutely love the schools as well as the school district. From elementary to middle school, to the high school, the teachers and staff are excellent! They really take the time out with the kids and the parents. There are plenty of activities as well as well thought out field trips. Our move out here to Ga from California wasn't easy on my family but my kids being in this school district makes it so much better. As we are looking now to purchase a home because I really like gwinnett county I want to stay here and keep my kids in the same district and schools.

I have two that have dyslexia that came in remediated, but they do have a remediation program. There is academic support. Those teachers are amazing and push into the classroom in elementary school. the teachers are supportive, communicative, and available accessible and connected with our kids. My kids are involved in sports music, dance, arts , theater. There are a lot of opportunities to be outward facing service projects, mission trips. While I appreciate that, my kids are taught the Bible and a relationship with Jesus and the teachers reflect that my kids also have a diverse group of friends that come from different religious backgrounds, economic, backgrounds, and political backgrounds, which aren't emphasized, but there is a variety of demographic. My son instance has friends that are Hindi, Punjabi, agnostic. My kids are taught not just about Christian world views, but different religious world views, different scientific views like evolution in biology (which someone for some reason said they aren't taught) and they're taught from a scientific standpoint not trying to dispute the scientific theory. As rhe get older, they have opportunities to question, debate, express their opinions in different classes and that's encouraged because they don't want the kids to be programmed robots. As I stated earlier, their families of different economic backgrounds, but that is not something that is known or something that at least for my kids they don't care if they have a lot of money or don't have a lot of money. It's just not important in the grand scheme of things. They have a diverse group of friends and I find that a lot of my friends kids find their niche. They find their people because there's so much variety and diversity. Well, they do a annual fun fundraiser. You could donate a dollar and still participate with zero judgment or not at all. There is a level of understanding from learning disabilities to economic to religious backgrounds that is accepted without judgment. Of course there's gonna be jerk kids at every school, but that's the minority and not the majority.

Her principal is awesome along with her supporting staff. GAC reminds me of DODDEA schools because often times the teachers children attend school there as well. Therefore they get the skinny on somethings going on due to their kids. My son loved his teachers and administrators to include the Principal. He stated there are things that happen that he was not happy with and did not want to go back. Had nothing to do w the teachers or administration. We are minorities and I have always been treated with the outmost respect from each principal on all 3 levels. I am disappointed some May feel this way but me and my family bleed GAC all day. We enrolled our child at this school with the expectation of a developmentally appropriate and…read moresupportive learning environment. Based on our family's experience, it was not the right fit, and withdrawing was the best decision for our child. In our experience, the school places a strong emphasis on obedience, compliance, and respecting authority. For our child, this emphasis often felt prioritized over academics, emotional development, and age-appropriate flexibility. We observed that normal childhood behaviors such as hesitation or resistance around nap time were treated primarily as discipline or compliance issues rather than developmental needs. We attempted to communicate and seek alignment with staff regarding our child's emotional and learning needs. While conversations occurred, we did not see changes that made the environment feel supportive or sustainable for our family. This review reflects our personal experience only. The school may be a better fit for families who prefer a highly structured, authority-driven approach. For families seeking an environment that emphasizes emotional regulation, flexibility, and allowing young children to be children, we would encourage careful consideration and thorough questions before enrolling. Ultimately, withdrawing was the right decision for our family, and we share this review to help other parents make an informed choice.

We sent my child here because she struggled with bullying throughout her childhood. Believing that…read moresending her to a Christian school would cease or at least lessen the harassment. We were wrong. In fact, it got worse. My child was pushed to a SUICIDE attempt last year in September because of the treatment she received here. Teachers would punish students differently based on their standing in the school, and whether or not their parents worked there. When my child went to the 7-12 grade principle about the bullying, she was told it wasn't bullying because she "went up to the bullies". She just went to heat up her lunch like they did, and the children faced little to no punishment. The culture here is truly unchristian. My child has faced unfair treatment, racial discrimination, and bullying at this school. Do NOT send your children here, especially if they are a girl or a person of color.
